Lenore WIP #2

Here's the skirt half in one piece! While the mysterious medieval lady dress was all one solid piece, I combined TWO patterns to make Lenore. I could have made them one piece, but I opted to have a seam at the waistline A) to save myself some grief cutting the pieces out, B) to have less fabric piled around me when I attach the sleeves to the top, and C) BECAUSE HER BELT WILL HIDE IT!

I used Butterick 4827 for the top half (and the full medieval lady dress) and Vogue 1095 for the bottom...

Ryuko Try-On

You may have missed these on Snapchat last month! This is Ryuko from Kill La Kill. I got the costume for $10 last year and left it in the bag at the time since there were a lot of small pieces. Once I had the wig, I had to do a quick costest! Bonus pics with my own hair for a Street Fighter Sakura vibe.

I am using Perona's abandoned parasol handle in place of a scissor blade for these photos - I'll make the real prop this spring/summer. :)

ACTUAL Lenore WIP #1

I had issues getting the photos of the skirt uploaded tonight, so I'll post more tomorrow!

I love the new fabric I picked out for her. It's got a bit of stretch, and the silver flecks add a little extra detail to an otherwise flat dress design. These pictures make it look much more navy than it is in reality - the colour is more of a cool dark grey. But I think the colour ambiguity is perfect for her.

WIP for... random medieval lady

Hey, sorry about going quiet! Here's some progress on the dress I was workng on that was SUPPOSED to be Lenore but... became its own thing.

I serged the edges on all the finished seams on the inside to prevent the fabric from fraying - that's the thick white stitching all over the place. Then I sewed the lining into the collar to create a nice, smooth neckline.

Since I liked how much my belt looked with the dress, I decided to add some decoration around the neckline to match it. T...

I have considered cosplaying Hinata for some time, and I actually have a suitable pair of contacts in my stash. <3 The base wig for Tharja will also work for her. Pausing for March and other updates

Howdy!

I work in the financial industry, and the last two months took their toll on my stress level. I'm pausing the March payment - skipping it - until April. I want time to catch up a few things and get some Easter content prepped for you guys. :) I may still post here in that time and I will definitely use Snapchat, but no one will be charged for the month.

In my weekly WIP Wednesday streams on Twitch, I have been working on what I was referring to as the "mock-up" Lenore dress. I am using fabric that has been in my stash for almost a decade (!) to test a sewing pattern.

At first I thought about going through with the whole dress design and saving myself from restarting with accurate fabric. Like a palette swap Lenore. Buuuuut. The skirt isn't full enough and it's... Just. Not. Lenore.

I have named her Nia (like "nya!" lol) to use another chunk of my name - Ali(cor)Nia. Shoutout to Matt for suggesting "Isabelle" - after I read your message, Izzy Bell was my stand-in name for her! Maybe I will make Izzy Bell another character in my expanding lore for these two catgirls (hahaha).

I have ordered the Valentine prints - everyone in tier 2 or higher will receive a Nia AND an Ali from the previous New Year's Eve set in their Valentine cards. <3 Make sure ...

New stickers!

I decided I wanted some new stickers of my original design cosplays. I commissioned these from my friend (Nox Draws on Facebook), and I couldn't be happier. LOOK AT ALI KAT! 🖤

I am looking into a higher quality sticker store, but they be $$$ and usually require me to order at least 50 or more of each design. 😬 I might have to release each one slowly... xD Which one would you like to see first?

60s fashion

After deciding to cosplay Beth Harmon (The Queen's Gambit), I got a little excited and ordered a bunch of vintage clothing. Some of is it not for Beth, but just for me - and Ali Kat.

I have a (not vintage) skirt in the mail, too, and some stuff in my closet.

Ignore the pink skirt - I just needed something to wear with the shirt, haha. And... ignore the giant bandage on my ankle... ^^; I just needed to be more careful...

RIP my yoga mat after all these heels. XD

Extended lockdowns got me like F U, COVID

I was hoping to have one pro shoot per month in addition to home shoots, but I haven't been able to meet with my photographer friend at all due to lockdowns, grr. Or get my Ram and Sakura wigs styled at the salon, because I don't trust myself with that much cutting. ^^;; Because of this, I will be sending Valentine cards out at the end of February instead  of the beginning to give me time to get the shoots in, let you pick your rewards, and...

After yet another hiatus, I found inspiration to return to stitching Megumi's dress decorations on... at 2:30 AM (of course).

I am slowly figuring out where I want the last ropes to sit. Then I can sew all the buttons on.

My brother is a big fan of both Flork's comics/community and Templar knights, so this gift seemed like a no-brainer... UNTIL HE WENT AND BOUGHT ONE HIMSELF!

So I have decided to customize it... It will be based on the Tiny Wife character and get a little pink headbow. I may add red ruffles to the tunic as well.
