Hey, gang! We have surpassed 20 patrons and I am excited to introduce some new features.

At YetiCon I worked with Wendy Snaps, a photographer looking to build her portfolio. As these photos are not totally polished - and my eyes are brown - I plan to go back and edit them after Aikon. But for now, they'll be up for Burger Buddies and above in the morning in their natural state!

Unexpected Cosplay

For your greatly belated fan signs, I have spontaneously thrown together Ikumi - or Nikumi - from Shokugeki no Soma (Food Wars is the English title).

Thanks to Bob for purchasing the uniform pieces I used! It's a shame the AliExpress listing used totally fake stock photos. I usually have pretty good luck with online shopping. I have the full uniform, but unfortunately it turned out to be very cheaply made and inaccurate...

Non-cosplay YetiCon video.

Ya girl made it! I was filmed after one of my shoots by the photographer's girlfriend, so I wondered if I would see that footage... and here it is! The fact that I also made the thumbnail is really cool! 😍

YetiCon Lineup!

Sorry for my silence! I was knocked out with a flu for days and then rushed out what I could and continued to sew in the car. I tried to make a post during the long ride yesterday but there were many areas where my data wasn't available for long stretches.

Currently at Sudbury, Ontario. We have a few more hours to get to Collingwood for the con.

Unfortunately there are a few things I was unable to complete thanks to my flu. :(

Djeeta Armour WIP #2 (and dress)

I used a paint with a texture to try to make it a little more interesting.



I do like the effect! There's a little bit of battle damage on one bracer and a pauldron piece from a huge gust of wind overwhelming my weight system on the newspaper. 😅

Actually I am mostly happy with the bag. It needs a little bit more work - snap closures and some tidying - but it's in one piece!

After hand painting some lovely leopard spots, we almost have a bag!



Here is what it will look like rolled up. And it will be functional! It can hold my phone and wallet. 😍


Just need to attach the sides and the straps and then assemble the foam pieces to help it keep its shape.

Gloves blessedly arrived and fit! Top is almost done! Skirt was hell!




Really happy with this seam here. It brings the whole faux corset to life. 💖

I am not in love with my experiment for her top, but it works. The neckline will be more V-shaped once it is actually attached to the corset.

Djeeta WIP #3

Enjoy my mac n cheese shirt before continuing onto my progress pic. Making the two fake boning channels (immediately to left and right of the center) was a nightmare. This fabric is very flimsy and frays quickly. I shortened it for my itty bitty torso. Started the skirt portion, too.

I will add buttons and other details after the dress is assembled.

I knew I wouldn't have any time to spare for Djeeta's sword creation so I ordered a "close enough" foam option from Amazon. It had to be redirected to my workplace, so my boss got another glimpse into my strange second life. 😂

They spelled her name wrong on the heart... 😂 They recalled a line that accidentally read "Chocolate" but still got it wrong.

Djeeta WIP #2

Working on the bodice! It will need reshaping at the top and a great amount chopped from the bottom - I don't have Djeeta's long anime torso. 😅 But pleased with my progress so far.

Getting started with Djeeta. Need a break from Diane. ^^; Cut out 8 pieces of interfacing and 8 pieces of fabric for just the outer layer of her dress bodice. Thank God for my new rotary blade....

Also big shout out to Pacman pauldron pattern pieces from Kamui Cosplay!

Diane gauntlet WIP #2

"Thanks, I hate it."

I mean the gauntlet is in reality (er... the 2D reality) a shapeless, hideous blob, but mine is somehow worse. 😂

I think I just need to kinda tuck the underside a little to give it a slimmer shape and I will feel better.

Last Minute Yeti Purchases!

A wig for Djeeta, a wig for Holo, and......... a sword for Djeeta because there is NO WAY I am gonna be able to make both it and Diane's hammer in time after suddenly throwing Djeeta into my lineup.

I will also have some assistance with Diane's hammer from a foam-crafting friend in town, thank heavens, while I also tackle Djeeta's armour.

EDIT: Should also add that, in the event I need to fly to Yeti Con, I will need to make the sword hilt detachable to fit in my suitcase. ;-;

I took these photos what seems like decades ago... They still exist! I just put them aside for Christmas photos, and then Valentine photos, and here we are now...

After learning I would not be receiving my Perona photos from Daishocon, I told myself I would HAVE to take the time to touch these ones up.
