Weekly Update

Progress continued well, I ended up re-writing a scene a few times but mostly things were good. It's always just a funny balance between how something is in my head, and how it reads when it's down on the "page", either way I got a few more thousand words in and hopefully I'll be able to start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel soon.

I did manage to somehow get banned for 30 days from Ao3 though. So hopefully I can get that sorted out.

They don't allow any mention of Patreo...

Much more back in the swing of things this week. Still mostly just hammering the chapter into shape, behind schedule because of how I was tied up the last few weeks, but making progress.

Nothing hugely exciting to report yet, but I did take this Friday off, so hopefully I'll have more interesting news after this coming weekend.

Nothing exciting, unfortunately.

As I alluded to last time, and as expected, I spent most of this last week not really with any ability or time to get any writing done on my computer. Ended up barely making any progress at all.

Annoying, but since it was at least expected, not the worst thing in the world. And it's all done and dusted now so I'll be able to make a good effort from here on and this week, hopefully you can look forward to better news next!

As expected, I wasn't able to get much of anything done this past week. I expected to lose a good chunk of my weekend to visiting family and all that comes with it, but ended up being more than anticipated, practically no progress to update with, sorry.

This week will be a bit of a mess too, but I'll try get more done as I go.

Weekly Update

Starting on the new chapter of Bred for Victory and well, chipping away at it I guess, nothing super fun to report so far. Looking at my records I spent about 2 hours on Monday, an hour on Tuesday, then 4 hours on Saturday.

So not a horrible week but not my most productive either. I did sit down through the weekend and manage to work on a little side project that's been bubbling away for a while and publish a small 6k Danmachi story. It's not smut and it's very different from my usual...

After getting horribly distracted by GFL releasing a new event and sinking way too much time over the last week into PL instead of doing the work I was intending to do... 

And after re-writing it twice, to re-structure it to flow better and give Chrom a bit more prominence...

I've finally finished the draft/outline for BFV ch6, and can move immediately into writing it. So that'll be the aim for this week. Draft will be up in Google Docs added next for anyone interested in see...

Weekly Update

No huge surprises so far this week, just working on the outline for Bred for Victory, I'll have it up when it's finished, so you can expect that soon. I ended up pushing out to the weekend and then spending most of the weekend paying off my sleep debt though, slept pretty much entirely through Saturday and then more on Sunday.

Feeling a lot better now, thankfully, trying to get back in the habit of being in bed before 3am!

Bonus - A Wonderful Fall (Alternate Ending)

At the request of one of my Patrons I was asked to do an alternate ending for Ch20 that had Say'ri finding out about what'd happened between Robin and Kageoru, and a short little scene from there.

Sounded fun to me, so I worked on it for a little bit and wrote it up earlier. 

It's not very long and doesn't go into great detail, so I won't post it anywhere, but it might be fun as a sort'a "What if?" scene.

Maybe I'm too picky about my sentences these days, I used to write a lot more casually, now I re-frame things and re-phrase them.

You know what's fun? When your work loads you with some last minute details right at the end of the day, so you wind up staying another half our or so late to finish off, not a big deal.

Except then just as you're readying to go, you get pulled into make numbers for an optional low-key strategy meeting that starts in 30mins and runs for a little over 2 hours.

Great fun all around. Meant I ended up being a lot less productive than I was aiming for tonight too.

And the light at the end of the tunnel is now shining bright. And hopefully not an illusion.

Always hard to say exactly when you consider re-writing and fixing mistakes and other stupid stuff, but I'll estimate about only 10hrs of work left to do on this chapter, which isn't unreasonable.

I actually kept a record this week, for comparison, looks like I put in about 8hrs. But I lost a good amount of time over the weekend with nonsense, so I won't have that to deal with this time....

And it's all Ogre. Finally, the light at the end of the tunnel. It's finished. Mostly, more or less. There's still a little I want to write and/or re-write, but all I really need to do now is get some editing and get it finalised.

Goddamn, this has taken an age, hasn't it? It's gonna be way too big a chapter. Even after trimming down the scope it's still wound up outside expectations.

Phew. Feels like each week I write something about how the end is in sight and I'm pushing forwards, should have a better update... But after writing about 5k words this weekend and still needing more time, I'm starting to get a sneaking suspicion that this chapter is gonna be way too big. But I'm not gonna split it, I've split enough chapters recently, it can just be a big giant chapter of Say'ri and that'll be fun, or stupid- we'll see I guess.

Bleeeh. 

I knew going back to work and going directly into a new project would be rough. I didn't expect it'd be as rough as it was: Basically, longer hours, with less downtime and half the breaks to what I was doing previously. Definitely an unpleasant jolt of reality, reminds me why I originally started this thing with the dream/idea of being able to write full time instead of working.

Either way, went through last week in that state where you work all day and then come...

Phew! Good week this time! I didn't manage to get the story uploaded before the end of the year, but I made some real progress at the start of this New Year. Happy to have 2021 off to a good start at least, well, here's hoping.

Anyway, no reason I shouldn't be able to keep this up and have some good news by this coming weekend. 

Back in Action

And I'm back home again. Got pretty much nothing done over Christmas, no chance at all to get any writing done, I didn't have a lot of hope but wound up being busier than even I'd expected. 

I did have some "fun" with my family having almost seen some of the notes I brought down too, so that was exciting.

Ohwell, I'm back now here through the New Years so I'll get back into it!

Back into action for the ACoT Say'ri chapter, nothing exciting to say yet, just chipping away at it. This week I should have a little more free time too, so I've got high hopes.

Going to bed now at 4am, but the end of the end, of “It’s gonna be done if I just finish this part!”   is finally in sight. No more tinkering or changing, or stupidity.

I actually took a day off work yesterday for the sake of sitting down and getting something I could post up for you guys. The fact that I'm writing this tells you that didn't work out (I wrote most of the day, but didn't finish), but I'm currently assuring myself I'll be able to finish it tonight, so we'll see.

Still just chipping away, getting things written down. It's taking longer than I expected, which is of course, also longer than I wanted by far.

I wrote several thousand words this week, and I was sure I was going to be able to push through and get to where the end was at least in sight, but I underestimated both how long it would take and how big some of the scenes would be. I'll probably end up trimming things down a little, but for now I'm just going through.
