2B subjects 9S to some "ordinary" maintanance, just to make sure his body is well prepared for combat and has plenty of, uh, insulation.
A2 also hops in because the promise of messing around with a cute boy is simply too tempting, and 2B is too busy focusing on 9S to focus on capturing a deserter.
