Planning for 2023

A fresh new year lies ahead and I've made some plans for my cosplay journey in the next few months 😊
I've planned some costumes, some upgrades for costumes and also which conventions I want to visit this year.
The biggest thing will be Star Wars Celebration London in April. We already booked the hotel, the tickets and I am so excited whenever I think about it 😅
Another big chunk of work is my bachelor thesis, that I am working on right now. So I'll see how much cosplay I manage...

WIP: Nightsister bow

Hello in 2023!

And with another WIP-Post. This time its my nightsister bow, one of the coolest things I made yet :D

I used LED wire for the bowstring, it works with two AA batteries and sits in the body of the bow.

First I made a pattern and tried to figure out what I wanted the bow to look like, I went for the classic TCW nightsister bow look and added a few details. Figuring out the size was a bit difficult here, in the first picture you can see all the measurements I took...

Ready for the silvester party!

Another year comes to an end.. It's sometimes a bit crazy to me how fast on the one hand and fast on the other a year goes by.

Cosplaywise it's been a good year, there were big conventions again can you believe it! I was able to meet to many old and new friends again in real life! I also made some new costumes, like always fewer than I wanted, buuut I guess I am just slow :D For this year I made Jinx, my nightsister OC Ysterrin and finally finished Mechanic Ahsoka, which sat in a box in...

Big Silvester Photoset

Today 2022 will come to an end. I hope the year was a good one for you! Let's start early with celebrations with this photoset with Ahsoka in a red silky dress!

I imagined a night at a Naboo terrace, another one of Padmé's parties, a lot of dressed up senators and to top of the evening: fireworks over the lake! Oh and of course some dancing! Ahsoka enjoying herself in the middle while watching quietly over Padmé (and maybe Lux? :D) and having the time of her life.

WIP: nightsister spear

Another day, another nightsister prop... Ysterrin needs them all <3

This one I came up with myself, I liked the idea of the cutout from the sword and wanted to repeat that here.

Same as always: I made a pattern, cut the EVA foam, glued it together and to the PVC pipes, carved down the edges to prepare for dremeling and sanded all the edges to make it nice and pretty. Cozy stuff is the best

I don't think I have enough cozy clothes yet :D But I got the christmas clothes quite right I think. 

WIP: Nightsister Sword

Here you can see what happens with a cosplay prop when I am in a real rush :D

I used a reference I found online for the sword, I just made it slightly curved to look a bit more samurai.

The sword is made out of 4 layers of EVA foam, cardboard and PVC pipes to make it more sturdy. I struggled a bit, because at first the whole thing was so wobbly, I had to glue in parts of a PVC pipe and a piece of wood until it was sturdy enough to hold in a hand and not bend down in the front. The christmas cookie bakery

Grogu and I made some real tasty cookies in christmas colors!

Today my brother will come visit for a few days and we already planned to bake christmas cookies! I want to make normal ones that you can cover with icing later, Vanillekipferl (the dictionary app said those are calles vanilla croissants :D) and something with marmelade and chocolate!

WIP: Nightsister costume

Here are some insights into the making of my nightsister costume :)

The nightsister was a really quick and rather easy costume for me, and that was a good thing because I only had two weeks to finish it.

I started by cutting out all the fabric and fake leather parts. Then I made the leg wraps, those are just fabric strips with cleaned up edges. Next up is the belt where I started with the decorative stitching and I liked it so much, that i also added it to the flappy skirt thingy....

I am quite okay in the christmas mood, I just love how everyone lights up their houses/appartments when the dark months are not so dark anymore.

That chocolate Santa was quite hard to bite, it's 70% dark chocolate, so tasty!

Christmas is coming

In the first one it looks like I am just resting my foot in the air, the second one I look a tiny bit too crazy for Ahsoka :D But we eventually managed to get a good one a few takes later.
