The "Kiba Safehouse" got a visual upgrade! (Can somewhere getting dirtier be an upgrade?). The new look is much more grungy which is more in-line with the original vision for these types of areas. If it's not clear; Images 3/4 are the 'Before' and images 1 and 2 are the 'After'.
For the record; no real performance increase, mostly just texture re-working and full upgrade only took 2 (very long) days of work.
Still tweaking the color correction, but everything is pretty final.

This is a bit hard to show in a video but let's try;
In Night-Runners, when you have a stock handbrake in your car the handbrake input is a toggle button. Which means that you press the handbrake button once to turn it on, and then have to press it again to turn it off. But when you upgrade the handbrake to a drift-button handbrake or a hydro, the handbrake button becomes press and hold.

Congrats to all who guessed correctly in the previous post.
This car will again be AI-only for the demo but fully playable in the full game. The kit in these pics is based on the a Garage TBK, with an early RWB style wing (heavily inspired by 993 GT2 EVO).

When doing a drag race, the normal intro cutscene is different; you have a small amount of time to warm up your tires. You are fully in-control of your car but you can't turn or go backwards. So you actually have to do the burnout correctly, it's not automatic.
Warming your tires to the correct temp will give you a grip boost on the start.

The game will greet you via your in-game name and the message changes on the IRL time of day. The car in the menu is your currently active car.
The loading screen video is one of many. Each loading screen video is chosen at random when it starts.

First clip in this video is the new sound, other clip after break is the old sound.
Still some fine tuning to do on the new sound. The old one was not good enough and did not match the other car sounds. The new sound is a lot more detailed.
Traffic is turned off for this video, the car has 440hp with big turbo. Video is recorded in editor(not at full FPS or resolution).

This is the intro to the Tatsumi PA car meet. From here you can walk around and call the other racers to negotiate a bet then go race. In the demo this will be the only car meet but in the full game each map will have multiple.
As you can see this one is currently controlled by the 'Endless Appeal' crew so all the racers will be from that crew. If you complete all the races and beat the bosses, the car meet will belong to you/your crew.

First look at the map menu which you can access while paused. The main map on the left is how you see crew territory and can select icons to set your GPS. There's no player position marking/arrow on this map; you're player position arrow is on the right, on your Satellite GPS system. So you have to find your position from the roads/place name.

I wanted to do something different for the sense of speed, I really like how it's turned out! The goal of the visual and sound effects when you're going 300kph+ is too replicate a kind of "flow state".
