Quick recap: Last week I worked on a new short quest for chapter 5. It's related to the quest where you rescue a mermaid from the theater, although it's not a direct "sequel" to it (it features a friend of the mermaid, rather than the mermaid herself). The quest is almost finished, but I need to check/re-organize a few things, and it needs a scene I have yet to write.

Weekly dev blog: The Way Forward

With last month's release, I think I have covered all the big items still left on my to-do list. This means that from now on it's all small quests, events and scenes. Hopefully, the game should be completed soon-ish. Weekly dev blog: Third Part Is The Charm

I posted the art preview and the polls, only to forget the weekly recap. >_< Anyway, I made some good progress overall: I wrote a new scene (a solo scene to "celebrate" your progress with Dominque, assuming you have seen her entire path) and I kept hacking at the quest. I am close to finishing the third and last gameplay section, although I had some IRL problems slowing me down.

Progress is going well with the quest. The second part is basically finished, so I should be able to start work on the third section soon, and then handle the finale.

Now that I am tying the various parts together, I am getting swamped in small details during cutscenes, but it's all for a good reason: after all, if you get extra guards as a result of your previous actions, you want at least something to be shown, right? If you get this or that captain, you might want something different...

As anticipated, I am working on the Golden Leaf final quest. I am adding more detailed content (like comments from your cow maids or Eliza near the start, depending on which path you are on). I think you'll get a special reward (read: scene) from either group, if you finish the quest successfully (I have to give you guys some extra motivation, right?) and I wonder if I should have a "neutral reward" as well if you aren't affiliated with the troublemakers.

Weekly dev blog: Condensed

Not much happened since the update: I did some work on TOTDC 2, did some treasure hunting for reference material (for the art commission) and wrote a new scene for Caliross (something for your solo adventures in bed if your slut reputation reaches or exceeds 10 points). For the rest of the month I should focus mostly on finishing the Golden Leaf quest, although I am sure I'll mix in some scenes and other miscellaneous content.

January update: Rocket Release

Well, perhaps not in size, but it was fast, right? Right? I actually sat on the release an extra day, to see if more reports from the testers poured in, but I decided to take the "silence" after the early feedback as a good sign, and release the update now. As mentioned before, it's not the largest update ever, but I am sure you'll find something to like. :)

Weekly Dev Blog: It's The Short Report!

Last we left off, a new scene for Gabriel was finished. I also added the short, repeatable date (it should randomly pick art from one of the previous scenes with him, to keep things fresh) and I wrote a short ending for him in case you have reached this point.

Weekly Dev Blog: I Am Back! Happy 2025!

Back to the office after my week off (my office == the room where my PC is and where I spent most of my time off anyway XD). I got to relax quite a bit this week, maybe I should revisit this novel idea more often! :p

December update: Will Not Deliver By Christmas...

...But we are well ahead of New Year's Eve! I guess I should be happy I got to wrap this up. The short story update will arrive a bit later (should still be here very soon). I guess I'll take only 1 week off (that is to say, next week) instead of 2 as I wanted to, and January will be the release to suffer the brunt of it (as I try to get the release day to hit around the 21st again). Instead of focusing about the dark times ahead, though, let's enjoy this release instead:

PSA: Slight Delay

If everything went as planned, the game would have been updated already, but I got sick and didn't get to do much for several days. The new plan is to push as much as I can (which isn't much, admittedly, since I am still a bit queasy) so I can finish the mini-quest and a new scene with Gabriel and then release what I have. I'll probably forego closed testing this time around, test a bit more on my own and leave my break open to bug reports/fixing for the first few days to compensate.

Weekly dev blog: Did Someone Say "Scenes"?

Well, I did, given that I wrote 3 new scenes this week. Two of them were for the cursed painting (this might be all I need for this, but I'll think about it some more, in case I want to add one final scene to the event). The other is the scene for the mini-quest. I made some more progress on the mini-quest itself, but it's still not finished, the scenes took more than I expected (they aren't as complicated as the original cursed painting scene, but they still had enough to keep me busy).
