This page was surprisingly complex to put together. I definitely prefer doing a few larger panels on a page rather than lots of smaller ones. x) But sometimes to show a bunch of actions in quick succession it makes more sense to do more smaller panels.

Square Couch Meme

For fun, I did a quick render of Pulsar in that couch meme that's been going around. I didn't have time to animate it, but it was a good excuse to try using Fspy which I've been meaning to do. Fspy allows you to draw measurements on a photo and it automatically sets up a camera in Blender to match that photo. So it speeds up compositing in situations exactly like this one where you have clear perspective lines.

Chiaroscuro

Chiaroscuro cornered me at AC and asked very nicely for a commission. (Also he's been asking for years, and his sketchbook was from 2005! So I kind of wanted to add to it.)

It's been so long since I drew in a sketchbook, I did a digital version of his sketch on the iPad first to get the basic pose down. It worked well, and I ended up with this digital version to post too.

Since posting these pages I've gotten a ton of comments about how the dildo looks like Quentin's dick. That was never my intention—it was just supposed to be a penis shaped dildo, as they often are. Comic Updates (There Will Be More Of Them)

While I was on vacation I had some time to reflect on the work I've been doing and what I want for the near term.

One thing I haven't been happy with for a long time now is the slow pace of the comic. I've noticed when I sit down to work on it, I can build momentum and get a lot done if I work on it for several weeks at a time. But usually when I start to build that momentum I have to stop to work on something else. And then sometimes I'll end up going a month or more between working on...

I was really hoping to have the next comic page finished up today, but I'm also doing another video production project which had priority. That should be wrapped up next week though, or at least over the hump, so I'll be able to focus more on the comic. The next page is about 75% done, so it'll definitely be up next week.

Hyper Pride Flag

Happy pride month! I'm back from my trip and will be posting again. I had a really amazing time too! Very glad I got the chance to go to Japan this year, and it was a much needed creative break.

I was thinking about what a hyper pride flag might look like when I realized it would probably just be a really big flag. So I did this quick sketch to illustrate the joke. I really like the way it turned out too so I'll probably end up coloring it and posting it to Bluesky.
