Feelin pretty good about this so far!! I do feel he’s a bit too centered in the piece. I’ll likely be filling him in more with all the details that I need then distort him so he looks more settled in the scene. Subjects that are way too centered on a piece don’t look right, to me anyway. There needs to be more of a balance with the environment and the subject. Really making it a point to use more dynamic poses with my newer works. Pinups are great, but they can get stale and sometimes all look same-y. I want to add more “story” to my pinups. Like they’re plucked from actual scenes or something. Not trying to break new ground or say anything against pinups! I had a few species in mind when coming up with this one. Originally I wanted to draw a buck, but I had a change of heart when I started working on the tail portion. I wanted certain angles of the back to be visible, so adding a slightly longer, fluffier tail made that difficult. Rather than reimagining the pose again, I opted for doing a doberman!

SUPER happy with how the linework came together! I probably redid the lines for this about 3 times before I settled with the current layout.
