I don't know if you have noticed but a series of pieces started to develop over time with a central theme: characters outgrowing their iconic places of residence, or at least iconic in their respective series. I have 4 pieces finished so far and one sketch. The main goal has to in a way force me to draw more background elements and scenes, rather than just the character by themselves.
Here are some layouts I have doodled over the month thinking of prospective places and characters to us...

I wanted to have this one finished for Mexico's Independence Day celebrations but was unable to. Oh well... better late than never, right?
Here's Alebrije, from the Netflix animated series Legend Quest. This series spun off from a series of animated movies centered around Mexican folklore. I wanted to draw a character from my country but there's not really much to pull from. Still, I had fun with the design. Hope you like it!

Here is a color test I did before deciding on an actual color palette. Was trying more about color relativity, where colors look different depending on context. It was looking kinda nice, but a friend did comment that the colors looked a bit desaturated, in contrast to the show's very bright colors. Still, decided to save these experiments for future reference.
Enjoy!

Looks like the farm food is rather filling, don't you think?
Here's that sketch I did of Otis finally colored. The original sketch was done some time back to get a feel for the character before I made him fill out an entire barn. So, you can take it as a sort of prequel to that pic.
Been experimenting with color lately, which is a topic I want to dive headfirst into. Tried a more cohesive color palette for this one and quite pleased with the results. Do let me know what you...

Originally meant this pic for Stitch Day last month, but a huge IRL project got in the way that demanded my full attention.
I think this is my first time drawing Reuben. Think I did okay with him. Hope you like it!
Enjoy!

Saw a couple edits done on Twitter, so it gave me an idea to try for myself. Instead of just working within the frame, like I did last time, just used a bigger canvas and expand away.
Hope you like it!

"This is like that time when Brian burst out of the house!"
Apologies for the long delay. Hope this is worth the wait.
Another entry in the unofficial, soon to be official, series of characters bursting out of houses.

One person unfortunately had to opt out of the sketch tier. There's one slot available, in case anyone would like to take it.
Take care!

The goof boy has much grown since we last saw him. The only place where he can hang out anymore, it seems, is the campus stadium.
Experimented a bit with some painting brushes for the background and aimed a more painted, outline-less forms.
Hope you like it!

Bringing back Stitch for another round. The original sketch idea parted from a sort of stack of pancakes look.
Also, tried a different approach for the cel shading. Hope you like it!
Enjoy!

Sometimes as a warmup before drawing I do little thumbnail sketches. And who else better than to enlarge our favorite blue alien? I do plan to turn the last two into wallpapers for Stitch Day later in the year. In the meantime, enjoy this trove of rotund Stitch. Any comments are more than welcome.

2024-02-09 17:49:01 +0000 UTC View PostHello everyone!
Not really too sure about what to draw for the month of February. Asked around and managed to narrow it down to two options. Since I like both of them, I wanted to ask you guys what you'd prefer.
First idea would be to do something with Reptar from Rugrats. Especially since Godzilla is a bit relevant at the moment and there's not much fat art of Reptar.
The Second idea, given February is the month of St Valentine, thought about Micky and Minnie in a WG relate...

As you all might remember, 'Sumo Enchanted Evening' seems to still be a staple in the community as a starting point. I've never before tackled CatDog, and I always thought the fattened version in that episode looked a bit 'off'. Hence why I posed them on their side and not standing up.
Been trying some techniques for sky painting, hope they come across in here. Also, added an alt version without the face inserts, so you can see more of the sky.
Enjoy!

Now he'll certainly be able to stay warm with all that blubber...
If you were around in the 90's, Cartoon Network used to run the "What a Cartoon! show", an anthology series filled with animated shorts. Many of which eventually became hits of their own: The Powerpuff girls, Courage the cowardly dog, Johnny Bravo, to name a few. Some other shorts, just stayed like that, a short.
Here we have O. Ratz and Dave D. Fly from the short "Rat in a hot tin can". The premise of the short is ...
