I used a few different illustrations for reference on color and snow/ice ideas, but mostly I just winged it and had a lot of fun putting this piece together!! Narwhals are so cool, albeit difficult to draw as finding actually clear references of their heads is tricky... that said I love drawing them now and hopefully can again in the future for youse all. Hey all, got some lovely WIPs for the narwhal! I had hoped to be wrapping this one up by now, but I’ve recently realized I have a deep bruise on my thumb (possibly from gripping my pen too hard) and drawing daily has prevented it from healing, I can only draw about 20 min or less before it hurts. Hey all, I have some Narwhal WIP sketches, and a bit of an artist ramble for those interested in such things.
Drawing a narwhal is kinda hard. The first few sketches of the head and trying to figure out how to draw a narwhal for the first time was a bit frustrating at first, believe it or not ;)

I realized why the timelapses were such bad quality and apparently when creating a canvas in procreate I have to set the video output quality, the resolution is much higher so all future timelapses will be way better quality. i apologize for the fuzziness of past timelapses; it wasn’t Vimeo that was the issue but procreate settings :,)

Hey all, I had a lot of fun finishing up this raven though I definitely need to revisit this challenge again, black iridescent feathers are TOUGH. I’m not sure how successful I was but I hope you still like her 🥺💕 black fur/feathers is tough to capture which just makes me want to keep trying lol

This piece is done! I promised myself I would simplify it and not go overboard with the details but I think I failed that promise lol. Still, I had a lot of fun on this especially because I don’t get to draw fantasy armor very much, I kinda winged the design but I just went for that classic sexy stuff you used to see a lot more :,P I miss it... lol

Happy halloween, I collected together all of the high resolution images of the pics I made this October. I included colored sketches this time, I wasn't sure if people would be interested since they're more messy than my polished rendered stuff but they might be fun to check out :D I'll include them in the future anyway so you all have more stuff to check out.
