Happy New Year! Mine started with travel and a head cold (which is why the Hamma chapters were delayed a day). But on a positive note, I finished the first draft of book seven on Tuesday. I had intended for this book to only be around 110k words. Instead, it ended up at 157k. Only The Fourth Secret (barely) and The Sixth Rune are bigger. There are 88 chapters and an epilogue. Whew!

I had hoped to ease into 2023. Instead, I’m trying to get the last couple of scenes finished in book seven while fighting a terrible head cold. In addition, I spent 13+ hours in a car driving this week. So, it feels more like I’m stumbling into 2023.
Regardless, I’m optimistic and expect 2023 to be a great year, even if I already know sections of it will be really stressful.

But as he thought it through, internal balance, with the Founders’ talk of responsibility and burdens, likely didn’t mean balancing his inner self by doing some sort of inward workout.
