Whoa! WIP Wednesday on a Wednesday? Madness!

So, very quickly:

A) Hit a big milestone on two commission, as both have had their pencils approved by the client. This one is from a long time sponsor featuring a long lost character. It’s a big one so I’m looking at maybe the end of the month for completion.

B) The other commission features the client’s OC and is a bit smaller, so I’d like to have that done by this weekend.

C) JennyAngry seems to be well ...

Not sure how to categorize this. It’s too “finished” to be a rough cut but not quite finished enough to be considered full color. Anyway, this is a sequence I’ve been working at a little at a time as a warmup, and now I’m cleaning it up and adding some color, using the same approach I did with the grayscale on Julie takes wing. If the dialogue seems familiar, it’s from an old audio clip scripted by our own SHFan many many years ago, and given fantastic new life in recent years ...

Welcome to May!

Ok, it’s more than a little late, but Dana Meadows is here to welcome you to May! (Perhaps Cro had some business to take care of!). In all seriousness, it’s apparently been too long since I drew one of my favorite OC’s, because this was really a struggle for some reason. Got carried away with this a little… was supposed to just be pencils or at most a “rough cut” like the JennyTarget sequence. We’ll see if I apply this level of color to the rest of the sequence. Some may find the script familiar—I’ll share the source when we’re a few more panels in. ;)

I…live. (Special WIP Update)

Sorry for the dry spell. I hid of a bit of artist’s block over the last week but I seem to be close ing out of it. Lots in the pipeline:

The belated Pink Moon pinup is nearing completion. Need to add color details and renders. Legionnaires look for a pencil preview soon.

Doing a multi stage TF commission featuring a long forgotten character. All stages roughed out this weekend and waiting for feedback from the client.

Quick recap:

1) Finished one commission over the weekend, completed inks on the next. Hoping to wrap that up this weekend. Still accepting commissions!

2) I’ve been sketching a little Shulkout as a warmup some mornings. Not sure how finished it’ll be, but hope to share more soon.

3) Got a character idea in my head that I’m working to get down on digital paper, for something I’d like to do for May.

Here's the next installment of my "Ladies of the 80s" series--from the animated Arcade Game and tie-in Saturday morning cartoon, Kimberly from Space Ace!

Whew! It looks like Alicia was able to regain control… this time. If she throws a cardigan over that dress and runs a brush through her hair hopefully no one will be the wiser. But she’ll also want to get back to her secret lab, too, to figure out what caused this incident so she can maybe avoid another surprise—either way, she knows she can’t keep the Shehemoth locked up for long…

Here's the next commission of 2024! A fairly simple one--a mid shot pinup. The client asked me to take a panel from the 6th (and final!) issue of the very first Incredible Hulk comic and apply it to savage era Jen. In the original, drawn by Steve Ditko, Banner is using his Gamma Ray machine to transform into the (supposedly) controllable Hulk in ture superhero fashion.
