Taking a break from the other projects to celebrate a very special October.  Two Full Moons, one on Halloween Night--a Saturday night made longer by the end of daylight savings.  I'd say that rates something special don't you?

NewJenny Special Edition (Complete)

Here's the final collage.  I'm happy with how quickly this came together.  Probably an ill advised diversion from what else is on my plate, but also necessary to get back in the grove after a rough month.   Most of all I'm really glad to finally give this sequence its due.  I really liked the original at the time, and giving it the full color treatment while seriously upgrading the quality of the drawing was very satisfying.  I hope you enjoyed it too!

Still playing with new coloring techniques.  Ol' Diana here did not come out as well as my Space Girl, but I think this technique still has potential.

From the Archives: Space Hulk Concept Sketches

Going with the space girl design I just posted, there was a concept for a "Space Hulk."  Exposed to strange energies when a comet and an asteroid collide near her ship,  a space explorer is transformed into the powerful Space Hulk.  The creature has blue skin, firey red hair, can survive and even fly in the vaccum of space, and possesses almost incomprehensible strength.  Or at least that was the plan.  Maybe someday...

Throwback Thursday--Space Girl

Here's an old character concept I keep looking at.  The suit design is inspired by an old "CyGirl/CoolGirl" action figure/doll from the 2000's named Aurora.  I liked the sleek retro space suit look she had, and tried an updated image of her recently.  She's turned out to have a bit of a Sandra Shore vibe to her too, and I am totally ok with that.

Another pinup costume idea.  Inspired in part by the character Starlight on that Amazon series that keeps popping up on my social media feeds.  Show does not look like my cup of tea, but I like her look.

ColorTest: Cro's Next Challenge

Testing an new method for coloring that combines the colorsketch and finished version and I think I've got it.  Here's the sketch I did of Dana with the colors added.  The dino shadow is just to give the image a little context.

So how's your month been?  Mine's been... not so good.

I mean, could be worse.  Neither I nor anyone I'm close to has gotten Covid yet, despite living squarely in an "anti-mask" area.    But as I mentioned before, work is really out of control this month due to restrictions related to the pandemic.  Our workplace is relying totally on shipping to get our product out, and out staff is stretched thin due to restrictions put in place.  The days have been ...

Special Edition--New Jenny

Here's something I finished a while back but never got around to posting.  Something else from the old archives, redrawn 13 years later.  I was toying with a new rebooted Savage She-Hulk that would more seamlessly incorporate the many different takes on the character into her history, along with a fresh look for Jen Walters.  

The updated version is an early attempt to blend some of the techniques I've been using on my Julie Takes Wing Panels with the more finished colors...

Sorry it's been so quiet.  August  going to be a very rough month I fear.  It's always been rough due to the schedule of my day job--August and January are always the most intense--but over the last week I have found out it's going to be even worse.  Due to the pandemic we are going to have to ship everything--no pick up or on site options.  It's going to lead to some long hours and not much energy left.  This piece up above is the first I've drawn all month.
