Befouled by a necrotic miasma, this reliquary of the Sarmodath faith is but a remnant of its former glory. Gilt columns and buttresses now black and ruined, ornate stonework decaying and crumbling to the touch… everything diseased in its way.
The main hall (area 1) has three openings to the reliquary above (area 5) – two slot-like holes in the floor that were likely implemented for ventilation, and a larger hole where the floor collapsed directly above the collapsed floor in the low...

With this week’s release of the new D&D 5th edition Spelljammer books (featuring a bunch of my redraws of classic Spelljammer deckplans, and a few new ones), I’m excited to release this “non-canon” ship deckplan that I drew for George Loki Williams’ campaign in the same style as the deck plans I did for the D&D5e book.
The Spelljammer itself is a massive living ship that can maintain a population of thousands but requires no actual crew to operate. It reproduces by spa...

A solitary stone spire in the hills of Kazhkul, Gavreth’s Stones refers to both the spire and the 12 stone columns before it. The moderately steep spiralling path up the spire includes a “lookout” ledge behind the spire where legend speaks of a great battle between the bull-headed guardian of this place and the hero Svordolos who not only defeated the beast and threw it off the ledge, but then jumped down upon the broken body and carried it down to the cavern and threw it into the hole ...

This cave complex follows the descent of a river as it heads underground to eventually rain down upon the Darkling Lake far below in the depths of the underdark. Home to a small dragon cult, their “ward” (a foul lean muddy wyrm of incredible length with lightning breath) eventually outgrew the need for their aid and care, but it still appreciates their near-worship and only occasionally consumes one or two…

Squatting dejectedly in the northern hills of Dehnuk is Hardbrand Tower, the last remaining ruin of a larger fortification. The tower walls are 35 feet tall, but only the first and second floors remain, with everything above the second floor gutted long ago.
Beneath the tower proper though are a set of dungeons that have partially collapsed, the depression from which has formed a pond on the surface and some of the water from that pond leaks into the dungeons down to the lowest level wh...

Not much is left of the fortifications of Sagemane Castle. Razed by eldritch-enhanced explosives when the dwarves announced their arrival to assist in the great war against the elves – only this one part of the outer bailey and some underground elements remain.
A few tower foundations still remain, now reduced to almost cubelike remnants with the upper levels blown off. One has to be accessed from an underground passage or by smaller creatures crawling in through the arrow slits. The ...

Every month we go through our back catalogue of maps and you vote on which two should be re-released under the free commercial use license. Our first release this month is this classic stone circle…
Deep in the woods, followers of the old faith still perform their blood sacrifices to appease ancient evils. These are the druids of the Bloodied Stones.
This druidic circle appears to be exactly what most PCs seem to expect from the archetype – reserved nature worshipers ...

One of the final stretch goals of the recent DungeonMorphs IV KS was to include an alternate version of the DungeonMorph cards (2.5″ x 2.5″ cards of the geomorphs) in the style of one of the artists involved in the design. That artist was ME! So now that all the different geomorph designs are in for each die, I’m in the process of redrawing the various designs in my style.
I’m doing these redraws one “die” at a time. The geomorphs have been assigned faces on the DungeonMorph...

So, here's the poll. Pick on that you'd like to see re-released under the free commercial use license. The two maps with the most votes will be released in the next week or so.

This odd hexagonal tower was constructed overnight, pulled directly from the ground by magus Devruel Tenzah of the Silver Cloak. Questing in the astral for the Githyanki, the magus rarely occupies the tower currently and leaves it to the magical defences and guardians built right into the stone.
The “claws” are rough stony wedges that extend up over the tops of the three turrets atop the tower proper. They are home to a number of twisted little mutant bookas (tiny little sprite-like...

This old complex definitely predates any of the current civilizations in the region. It was likely built by half-elven morlocks in one of the recession eras of the Kale Elven civilization. Those areas still showing their original carvings on the walls bear ornate depictions of various demons believed to be the “gods” (or dreaded foes) of the morlocks in question.
A mix of caverns and worked areas split over four levels and five zones, the upper section of the complex is home to a la...

In a discussion about my maps, Lance Roberts showed off his super-simple small dungeon maps that he creates and I really liked the simplicity and the designs of the pieces in question. So, I asked if he was cool with me trying them out in my style and he graciously agreed. These four mini dungeon maps are the result.
This is actually the work that got me started trying out the five room dungeon designs I’ve been releasing every Monday. Drawing these four “simple” dungeons was a lo...

The aged tortle mystic Leukun built this stone structure to house great works of tortle art, spirituality, and all knowledge of the grand unified turtle theory. Originally intended to have a much taller tower, the elderly Leukun realized that he didn’t have the time to complete more levels, and at 41 years of age he capped the tower (with an egg-like dome) at 44 feet tall.
The stonework of the structure was Leukun’s life’s work. The contents of the tower are collected from other t...

The lizardfolk of the Throl tribe have been using this river cave for their honoured dead for untold ages. You can see their descent from mighty rulers of this region to the near-refugee status they have today through the ages of the tombs. The main section of ancient tombs is for the six great elders of antiquity, each entombed in a silver sarcophagus sealed with gold and bound with lead and then placed in an ornately carved stone tomb.
Further back into the cave, the smell of decompos...

Guarded to this day by the Obsidian Guard, the Andesite Pyramid is supposedly the burial site of the Sphinx of Jewels. Some believe this is a name or title bestowed upon one of the princes of the Eparapt Dynasty, but other stories point to this being the resting place of an actual sphinx that assisted several generations of princes of the previous dynasty.
The truth might be something else entirely – a few apocryphal tales speak of a potent psionic lich with the “Jeweled Sphinx head...

As with all the major cities of Tsolyánu, Béy Sǘ has been torn down and built over innumerable times over the generations. In the underworld of the city are a number of important (and well guarded) sites including the understructures of the major temples, archives, government buildings, and access to the remnants of the planetary tube-car system. But in a city as massive as Béy Sǘ, there are many other things below the city streets…

Cut into the hillside behind a circle of menhirs is the Barrow of the Flayer – a stone-reinforced barrow partially hidden by overhanging grasses from the steep hill above. The menhirs themselves give hints as to the origin of the flayer – carvings of tentacles descend from the peaks of the menhirs towards the base, ominous and seeming to reach for those who stand among the stones to examine them.
Steps lead into the two openings of the barrow – a few broad steps into the main entr...

For the next two to three months every Monday will see the release of a "five room map" - Generally I've made a significant effort to make these feel a lot bigger than what we picture when we think of a five-room map, and there are some exceptional examples coming up (like the river cave map).

In the Barrier Peaks is a small pass no longer accessible from either side – at some point the ends of the pass were lifted up above the local landscape by a hundred feet or more, leaving sheer cliffs and difficult climbs. What has been forgotten is that this was done by the dwarves in their time of grief for their fallen warking.
The eastern end of the pass is decorated with pale stone statues of human warriors on each side, leading to a massive stone statue of a dwarf where the pass...

It is done (for now) – all six of the Midsummer Lands hexmaps are done and released, and now we’ve got them combined as a single map. As with all the maps in the set, there is no set scale for these maps, and the items on the maps are not to scale with each other so we can see points of interest like towers, cities, and caves. If you really need a scale for this and don’t want to pick one yourself, go with six miles to the hex.
