I based the lighting on this on the scene from Secret of the Unicorn (2011), where Tintin sneaks into the Marlinspike Hall mansion.

Commission Catch-Up: Van

Hey, so some developments. I'm slowly getting a bit better at sleep since the weekend, which is pretty good! 

However, for this commission, I actually had to ditch the method I had in mind, partially due to convenience, but also because I realized I'd walked into this piece backwards for the kind of technique I wanted to use. So, instead, I ended up doing everything in my traditional way, albiet a little more messy.

Seriously struggled with these, especially trying to figure out a third composition, which caused me to take pretty much all day for mere scribbles. I wanted a more action-oriented pose in at least one of them, but most attempts fell apart before I'd get distracted or frustrated, so I eventually just settled for a "he's just standing there" composition.

I'd chalk most of my struggles down to insomnia, unfortunately. I'm really hoping to figure it out so I can move o...
