I knew the moment I decided to add angels to the story, that I wanted them to have a uniform unlike the demons.
I always wanted to design a character outfit based on the Georgian traditional dress, especially the sleeves, so the clothing was easy!
The head took some time, because I didn't have a specific look in mind. After meandering on Google and Pinterest for a while, I came across images of fabulous Venetian masks and it clicked.

This is where I had to figure out in what exact environment I wanted the one-shot story to take place. ... and then realized, man I am putting all this work for just one single chapter? And this story was to be one of the quicker, easier ones to draw! Screw it, let's make this into a longer story!

This was supposed to be designs for their dance dresses. Human students shows up wearing fancy dresses, but The Prince comes in his demon prince gear, wings out, tail out. He only has 3 pair of wings here!
His outfit is based on fantasy MMO designs.
The Boy was also given a name at this stage — Aurelios.
The dialogue when the Prince showed up in his dress was something like this:
The Prince: Do you think I overdid it? What if Aurelios hates it?

Digital Sketches (Pt 1 - Will You Dance with Me?)
The one-shot story at this point had turned into something like this:
- The Prince, a demon, likes The Boy, a kind and gentle human
- A school dance is coming, and The Boy keeps being asked out by another humans.
- The Prince, feeling pressured, asks The Boy out to a dance with the help of his demon minions.
- It's really dumb because none of the minions know what humans like.
- The Boy laughs at it but says yes.

Initial Pencil Sketches (Pt 3 - Semifinal Designs)
By this time the one-shot story had changed a lot as well as the characters.
The Prince was no longer based on Beelzebub, but would have various demon minions popping in and out, doing his bidding (a.k.a. manual labor).
Anyway design inspirations are:
- the Prince: Spike Spiegal/Yagami Taichi with shorter poof because I'm bad at keeping his hair volume consistent
the Boy: generic blonde pretty boy
Initial Pencil Sketches (Pt 2 - Second Designs)
Second round of designing The Boy and The Prince! I quite like this version of The Boy's design so I'll probably use it somewhere else.
The short story was revised so that The Boy was a pretty boy, and The Prince a loud brat named Beelzebub, who always had flies around him. Whenever he blushed, the flies would burn into a crisp and a nearby human student would comment on the smell.

"Your Wings and Mine" started out as a one-shot, and was originally titled simply "The Prince and The Boy."
It was to be a part of BL short story series that I had planned to do, where every chapter would be a different story. And so, nobody had names, just titles.
