We're still hard at work on Unabridged, and things are looking like the season will premiere in Spring 2020!

Jojo in 5 Minutes Thumbnail Art!

When we came up with the X Minutes series, we weren't sure how we wanted to do the thumbnails. We're still trying to figure that out now, but when the first one was coming out, we thought, "Hell yeah, Dio's gotta be up front."

So our artist BrachyZoid took a swing at it with a sample image I gave him! Unfortunately I didn't specify Part 1 Dio, so I got a sketch with Part 3 first. But it was a simple enough fix, and it came together nicely!

T-Shirt Evolution: Legend of Goku: Gohan's Awakening!

So, like I said before, when developing merchandise that's a parody of another intellectual property, you have to make it transformative. A simple copy/paste isn't going to do the trick!

So, this shirt?

This. Was a process.

The concept was simple enough: Gohan's Awakening is the classic dub title! But how do we make it work for a shirt?

Went through a couple of general ideas, but we ultimately settled on one that worked! BrachyZoid finished it up and we sent it off to ...

So, here's a fun thing about merchandise: When it comes to other people's intellectual properties, you can get away with a lot! ... as long as it's transformative/parody.

Buuut, sometimes? It just doesn't cut the mustard, and you get a polite but firm request to take that shit down.

And hey! That's how the industry works. And that's how it worked with this shirt design we had for a while!

So, Lani one day was all, "I'm gonna make Krillin play Bloodborne."
And then he did! And when I heard it was going to be a series, I thought, "Well heck, let's give it some original art!"
So I went to BrachyZoid and gave him that example. Bing bang boom, we had our Krillborne art.

Thumbnail Evolution: Midwife Crisis!

So, here's something interesting. Here's the evolution of the thumbnail for Midwife Crisis! Yeah, sometimes you have trouble coming to a consensus, so things go through a couple different drafts.

Originally, we wanted the legs to help give a clearer picture of the whole scenario, but we decided it might be a little much for YouTube.

So, we went with our "wisemen," Piccolo and Vegeta. BrachyZoid, the artist, gave two interpretations of Piccolo's reaction.

Thumbnail Evolution: Two and a Half Saiyans!

BrachyZoid is such a talented artist.

For the ShortZ, we decided to use original art to help present them! We thought about using the 3D art from the actual clips, but we needed something that would be instantly recognizable; thus, we ended up using an 2D art from the incredibly talented BrachyZoid.

You can see the evolution from beginning to end! From the concept art (from me, KaiserNeko!) to the rough sketches, the ink, and finally: The finished product!
