Friday Sketches

Well gang, it's Friday. I've just got a few doodles that happened over the course of this week but I've been kinda all over the place in general. Oh yeah, I drew a silly scifi Libby for fun :)

I'm still working on last little tweaks and fixes on print stuff. At this point I don't know if I'm particularly bad at getting things ready for print or if I just relearn the same lessons every time😅 because wowza. I am slow.

Greek stuff

I'm still having fun with this stuff. I don't know that much about Greeks and Amazons except that they fought, but I do adore the color palettes of greek pottery. Gonna have to do more research if I'm going to do an earnest project about them but I am also kind of fond of work that is made in a liiittle bit of ignorance? I feel like sometimes not fully understanding something  lets me play with the rules in a more lax way that arrives at interesting new ideas.

Wednesday Miscellaneous Update

I was hoping to have a more definitive, complete update with lots of really solid finished things but what I have to share today is a lot of bits and pieces.

Bellyband WIP

Some of you mentioned not minding seeing more of the technical, not strictly horny parts of the process. So for what it's worth, here's some of the spoils of my efforts today. I started off sketching things on paper and totally lost the little Winton figure by the time I had been fussing with wiggles in Illustrator for hours(still might try to bring him back.)

Don't ask why it's so important to remake the bellyband for the new laser jet edition of my comics or why I even need a bellyba...

Sketchbook pages and Timelapse!

These are a bunch of drawings that have come out of being in love with a lot of stylized proportions in illustration lately and just wanting to indulge!

I feel like whatever I draw in my "sketchbook" ends up becoming a comic or some other project 6-12 months later. I started drawing some sillly one-offs in a Gibson style almost a year before I took Fitting for a Lady. Who knows, maybe there's a really silly stylized project in my future!

Didn't get as far on colors before feeling the need to share it with you all this time. What do you think of of the *asterisk-ish thougth clouds? I kind of like how they stay in the background to the dialog, like thoughts are, but I'm not 100% on the furriness alone, maybe they should have a pale fill color so they pop out a liiiittle more? 🤔

I'm back from a little holiday travel and decided to collect some of the doodles I've done for you here! I started thinking about Amazons and Greeks as a drawing theme from previous suggestions because I haven't gotten that far through the last batch just yet.
But mostly I'm just drawing Libby and Holly to further help familiarize myself with them!

Happy Monday, everyone! Finally got around to finishing up that Poppy and Oak pinup I started at the beginning of the month, I decided to incorporate the dropping temps around me this week into the final version.

Libby & Holly Pg. 1-8

I wanted to repost with this kind of complete little section since I have to go back to doing roughs after completing the lineart pages!

Those of you who are new to the patreon (thank you for joining! 🥰) might be surprised to find the kinda haphazard state to the comic at this stage. I don't think I'm particularly capable of nailing everything down the first time so I tend to speed through pages as much as I can and then return to make corrections once I'm further along in the story...

Holly and Aster Character Sheets

Took a little while but here's where I ended up.
For the longest time their looks just weren't quite cemented in my mind but doing these drawings has me feeling a bit better about Holly and Aster.

I haven't always done very detailed character sheets but in this case I wanted to see if drawing a couple of outfits for them might flesh them out in my head a bit more.

December 12 already!?!? I have been hoarding drawings, sorry y'all!

Well I've been consistently struggling with nailing down Holly's character design so my antidote has been to just keep drawing and see what feels good. If enough good feels overlap, that's the design and I'll run with it. 

Check the attachments to see some timelapses! They're mostly just of the drawing process  though, I added the tone as a bit of an afterthought, as well as making the final arrangements...
