Running Blizzard

A finished gift for Gveanel.

After I visited Baykal and Siberia, I got to know the nature of a place where my friend lives. That helped me to learn a bit more about them, and I was greatly inspired to make this piece.

This is an experimental illustration that combines both scenery and comics elements which I’d like to try out more in upcoming months. I feel that this media helps me to tell a story told through the eyes of a character and their surroundings.

Birds of Ladoga

Another portion of birds, but from a very different region. 

I came to visit my friends near St-Petersburg, and these are the birds of Europe. I'll write their names under each photo to let you know what you can see in local forests.

I had a birthday recently, and it was a great joy to spend them around dear people and birds!

A month of volunteering comes to an end

From mid September to mid October, I've been volunteering on bird ringing station on Baykal. Stations like thus help to gather data about bird populations — their migrations, quantity, etc.

My journey is far from over — I'll be roaming forests of Moscow oblast and Leningrad oblast until November, and then I'll return home on Sakhalin to continue work on usual schedule.

I've added caption to each of birds here with it's name and sometime identified

August sketches 02

Couple of pieces from Discord sketch channel.

A friend’s cat as Stray protagonist, WIP of an art trade with Kitchiki, personal WIP and design of Jasper’s brother — Agate. The last two pieces were made after my wisdom teeth were removed. First time it was okay, and second not really, it was very gory and painful.
