End of the month blogpost

Another month gone, another month of meeting my goal of pumping out at least one animation per week! I hope you guys are happy with what I put out, even if I'm not half the time.

Well, the biggest change this month was, of course, me getting my hands on my new GPU. It blows my mind that I was able to just outright buy it, and earn back the money I spent on it in like a month. I honestly never dreamed something like this would or could be possible, but here we are. I'm looking forward to...

Okay, so I mocked up an image real quick. This frame 6 seconds to render. 6 SECONDS. It used to take me upwards of a minute.

GPU installed!

Well, it's finally time. I have my 3060ti installed! Well, I had it installed yesterday, but my old monitors didn't connect properly so I had to go out and physically buy a new one this morning. Thankfully, you guys pledged a lot this month, so I had some money left over and just outright bought one.

I just did a quick test render of an old animation, and render speed is up by about 500%! I figured maybe I'd get double the speed, but this is insane. I knew my o...

Well, this is the last time it'll take me this long to render up alternative versions of animations. I wonder how much faster it'll be from now on. 

inb4 10+ alternate angles and skins for each animation from now on.

Anyway, this is officially the last animation I made on my old GPU. I'm going to install the new one tomorrow and get cracking on my last commission on monday. So consider this animation a bit of a quicky, if you will.

New GPU Ordered!

At long last, it's happening! Got my hands on a 3060ti for cheap, so I pulled the trigger. I'm torn between renderll have it up and running saturday or sunday. Fingers crossed.

ps. I'll probably hold off on rendering my current animations until I get it installed.

Welp, finally feeling better. Resuming animating tomorrow. Sorry for the delay, guys.

I had way too much fun animating the wings in that other animation. I have to do it again.

I haven't decided on whether or not I want her to push back her butt or if the guy is going to be doing the heavy lifting.

Smol Update

So, I've been feeling like shit, physically. I spent thursday night and all of friday throwing up, and I still feel kinda bleh. I'm gonna take a few days off animating to recover and sleep and enjoy the sun. Shit sucks, but what can you do. My next animation will probably be done late next week rather than early next week, just a heads up.

In other news: At long last, GPU prices are collapsing. THIS IS THE MOMENT. Or, rather, probably the end of this month, I'll pull the trigger and buy...

Hats! I like hats. I always feel completely stripping a character also strips away part of their personality, or what makes them unique. Maybe that's why I prefer partially clothed stuff. Idk. I'm just rambling again.

I ran into a lot of problems with the Blender 3.1 update, so it took a lot longer to actually finish. I mean, the animation was done in about 45 minutes, everything else took around 7 hours. Sheesh.

It was actually pretty difficult to render up an alternate angle for this one, as I hadn't really thought about it while I made it since this whole pose was new to me. Derrrr.

I'm re-rendering part of the alt angle because it looked wonky, will be uploaded later tonight.

Well, this was my first attempt at doing missionary style. It's really quite difficult, but I learned a lot, again, so it was good practice. Gave me a lot of headaches, though.

On GPUs and the future

I need some input, guys. I'm a bit of a bind. I need help deciding on my new GPU purchase.

So, as most of you know, I'm working on a literal potato GPU from 2016, an old 1060GTX, and while I can still work, I'm running into more and more problems as time goes on. My GPU is a massive bottleneck. It's damn near 6 years old by this point. I'm worried it might just crap out on me any day now, and I'll be stuck rendering on my APU, which, while possible, would set me back lightyears in terms...

Sort of. It's slightly different this month. I'm about halfway through this animation, and it's an animation I've never done before, so it's kind of difficult for me. Missionary. This is still an early WiP, mind.

Anyway, since I know how to bodyswap models (so long as they share the same basic rig), I figured I'd ask you guys who you want to see star in this animation. So vote away!
