heyo peeps! i finally figured what to do on thursday, i think. It's something i've been wanting to do for a while but i think this is a good time to start as any. so, it's not really a secret that fenris high has been going through a bit of a troubled development cycle. Its future is a bit uncertain still, but i've come across a collaborator that's willing to help me with the programming for the game (he's incredibly good at it believe it or not, a true professional). In exchange he asked me to help him with the animations of the enemies for the project he's currently working on.

patreon devlog update 89: labyrinthine

heyo peeps, i'm back to work on zap & andy since my programmer rick needed some assets for a section of the circus that we're gonna change around a bit.

so there's a point where you had to go into a mirror maze and previously we had a puzzle similar to sokoban where you had to fool mirror reflection of andy to kind of superimpose into eachother so you could clear a path to the exit.

Since that was a bit too much to program in the engine we're using , we've changed that section...

so...things were a bit worse than i expected-

sorry to bear more bad news, but turns out there was a good reason the psd file for the latest HH update was corrupted, my pc is seriously on the fritz and i'm not able to open any program without them making my graphics card crash. I tried everything but i feel like i'm wasting time, the pc is very old and it's likely on its last legs... so long story short i decided to get a new pc. I can't really estimate when it'll arrive right now but it'll likely won't be until far into next week.

bad news regarding this tuesday's hero's heart update

this morning i opened up the file i was working on for the update and what do you know, the file is irreparably corrupted, all the layers have been flattened to one and  all there is in the file is a black screen with some red lines at the top. I've tried for most of the day to recover the file but unfortunately there's nothing to do, the thing is gone and i'll have to restart from scratch.

wondering what to work on thursday and saturday

so , i've come to that point again where working on requests is getting way more stressful than I can handle, so I have to change gears somehow to keep from burning out. Not sure what to replace them with, tho. I think I can fit work on zap & andy or the visual novel on saturday , but not really sure about the middle of the week. stuff i worked on these past two days-

so i wanted to dedicate today solely to zap and andy, since there's stuff I -still- have to finish for the circus (I swear it never ends XD) but the collaborator I'm working for the visual novel project wanted to test stuff for an animated intro idea for the novel and I decided it'd be neat to make some assets for him too- 

it's mostly the three protagonists being mopey and sulking around so nothing too sexy, but it was fun trying to make super small animations for the last two pic...

annd the holidays are behind us and thank goodness for that , I was getting kinda antsy to go back to draw ! 

I'm still a bit rusty for all the inactivity so I only managed to finish Lodoss-12 's request, about an adventurer that finds out that you'd better reject the hospitality of gnolls, if you don't want to turn yourself into a hulking, smelly hyena man , that is.

delaying for a couple days the day i come back

hey peeps, i kind of realized that by coming back on tuesday 3 it'd mean i would have to have a hh update prepared, wich means it'd take something like a week to prepare. I have to admit i started working on it already, but i feel maybe i should take a little more time to rest and recuperate. 

So instead of working from here to the third, i'll probably come back with a thursday request update january 5th.

It's been a while so i think a recap of how the stats work could be useful:

you can vote on the stats you want to grow, and the 4 stats that get the most votes will grant the character a +5 in that stat.  Once a stat grows big enough, something peculiar might happen!

aside from the stats you can vote to give the character a new trait, possibly describing it in the comment ...
