My new pipeline of work. Sketch >> base colors (character) >> 3D background (in blender) >> overpaint bg + drawing effects on bg (photoshop) >> shadow + lighting by layer modes on character (multiply, soft light, overlay, etc) >> hand painting over everything (without layer modes) >> post-production effects and corrections.
