344 Romelu's Nasty Acquaintances (Photoshop)

Here's the .psd file for 344 Romelu's Nasty Acquaintances. Notice that it is necessary to have Photoshop to use it. Inside you will find that it is all white. That is the uppermost layer, I only use it to make the file preview smaller in size. Once you remove that uppermost layer you'll see the illustration. (it's just one click)

Most of the illustration elements are properly named and arranged in folders in the layer area. Some assets like textures or smart objects hav...

344 Romelu's Nasty Acquaintances

Denizens of the Tower!

Romelu used to be an underworld criminal and sometimes hitman back in his younger days. A life of crime left him a sizable small fortune. Enough for a man to retire and live the rest of his life in peace. Romelu bought a property, opened an inn, and said goodbye to his days of wrongdoing. But like many in the business of the illicit say, every time he tries to get out, they pull him back in.

Romelu has tried to forget old grudges and pending debts but the un...

343 Yellowing Angel Vault (Patreon Exclusive)

Denizens of the Tower!

This is a Patreon Exclusive release. It is an underground vault complex that features a complicated opening mechanism that requires the would-be user to complete a series of trials and survive some nasty traps!

This vault-scenario includes no lore per-se but I have included a detailed description in the PDF about how to reach the vault in area 9. We've described each of the traps and encounters. It is by no means, an efficient or practical vault. More like a...

Dungeon Vault Magazine No. 6 - Published!

This is issue No. 6 of Dungeon Vault Magazine. A compilation of adventures, lore, excellent cartography, and useful digital goodies.

Dungeon Vault Magazine is all about providing interesting ideas and lore to DMs and storytellers. Within this issue, you will find varied adventure ideas.

Giant spiders again?

Travelers!

We start this month with an interesting location. This is a crypt repurposed as a laboratory, library, spellcasting school that belongs to a guy named Arthimesh. The other day, he messed up with his spells and malversed alchemy devices and the mishap caused some spiders in a container to grow out of proportions and become extremely dangerous. The spiders ate a few of the interns but Arthimesh and the rest of them escaped alive.

Now he's offering some gold for valiant wa...

A new DMs Build publication - Temple of the Immortals

This is a tier 1 (level 3-4) adventure about a mind layer outcast who escaped the neural influence of the local elder brain. The illithid traveled far and settled down in an abandoned ancient temple under the city's cemetery. He devised a variant ceremorphosis process that causes humanoids to become mindless, loyal followers who obey his commands unquestioned. The disparate group is called 'The Immortals'. They lure new members with promises of immortality or the cure to a ch...

341 Corrupted Temple of the Immortals

Denizens of the Tower!

We close the month with an awesome underground temple map. I'm very proud of this one in particular because It is one of my best illustrations. This map comes in the usual formats and variants.

As in previous months, this map does not include any adventure or background because the adventure was published earlier today in the DM's Guild. However, as a special gift, I'm sending  you a special download code so that you can enjoy this adventure as well. Pl...

Who's gonna save the adventurer's guild?

Travelers!

Steiner Von Ligt and his guild were invaded by brigands and criminals. The City Watch doesn't care much for the Guild of Brothers but their job is beneficial for the community. Von Ligt has a considerable fortune which he might wish to share if he is saved, or perhaps this is a great opportunity to act as the larger fish in the matter and be the ones who negotiate with Steiner instead. Whichever your choice, the bandits and thugs must be dealt with first.

For our suppor...

The Lost Ruins of Olgoth - A Return to Isometric

Travelers!

Alright, we haven't gone isometric in such a while but we're returning to the root of this mapping operation and try to come up with one or maybe two of these a month. Like before, I'm keeping the color range to a minimum in this one, grayscale or B/W because that made them easier to read. Some people I've heard complain about too busy isometric maps because it's harder to parse them. That is why I always add a top-down minimap as reference.

Now this is an adventure abo...

A Safehouse to Lay Low!

Traveler from a far land!

This is an interesting encounter location. You've all had your group do some amazingly inhuman stuff in the big city. Now the watch is angry, other factions are too. And the party needs a place to lay low. This is where Sira and her sewers safe house comes into place.

Sira and her lackey, Turgo, manage this safe house. The location is not compromised (yet) and it's also a solid defense position. The entrance uses the sewage main waterway as a "moat" of so...

Art Vandelay's Innfort / Exfort

Readers from the internet!

It's time for another inn-tavern map. This is a military outpost that was later sold and repurposed as a fortified crossroads inn. It's got three levels, the roof, and a basement. The owner of the inn has a large room in the third level of the tower.

Now, the funny thing is a Seinfeld reference in the lore. It doesn't ruin the lore, nor does it make it comical. This is a normal inn supplement. The owner of the place is Art Vandelay, this merchant used to...
