Avery is a sassy little bitch with a soft spot for her friends, particularly Sonny, her long time friend since grade school. Avery is the same species of gryphon as Sonny, hence the similarities. Avery is fiery and doesn't trust people she doesn't know, which is why I imagine if you, the viewer came up on her in her natural habitat, she wouldn't be the friendliest bird.
