Here we have Papa Noel, AKA Santa Claus, AKA- wait, it's not Santa? I'm getting word from my producers that my notes are wrong, and this is not in fact Santa. This is actually MaikoXSekai's bun Noel.

Took me a few tries to land on a sketch, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. She's a cutie patootie and I think I managed to bring that out. :>

Jayla & Chinatsu (hi-res)

This time we have not one soggy waifu, but 2 soggy waifus. The elf waifu is Jayla's, and of course on the right is Chinatsu.

The waifus are extra soggy and shiny this time. I've been trying to level up my wet highlight game, and these are the current results. Leveling up! :p

Both their hairs were tricky to do. Long hair coming toward the camera and away from the camera is a challenge. I redrew it a few times, and I think I kinda got there in the end.

No, that is not Jahy, but her ears are inspired by Jahy's! 

I haven't done full on palm tree action in a while so I was a little spooked but I think it worked out. Also tried a more unusual sky lighting.

Sarongs are not my forte but I think this is my most ambitious yet. I hope it looks okay.

Summary of art 2021

The sequel to 2020 is just about over, and I sure hope they don't round out and make it a trilogy. 

This year was marked by ups and downs; my hand pain is still not gone, sadly, which has meant I wasn't able to work as much (though I was probably due for some breaks eventually), and it's made drawing very uncomfortable at times. Pink. Lots of pink. Haven't done so much pink in a piece before. :p

Turns out shading pink stuff is kind of weird. I shaded this like I usually do and it looked kind of dry, not very warm-lookin. Turns out cranking that saturation ends up working better. I wonder why that is.

This piece is an elaborate reference to the classic, legendary 1990 album Legacy of You by Toshiki Kadomatsu. It's one of my favorite albums and favorite album covers so I was super excited to work on this. In this idea Kadomatsu is replaced by Corrine (complete with sunglasses), and the guitar is turned into Sheena in her canon swimsuit. :p
