Stocking Island across from Georgetown is awash with hidden treasures. There's an art trail that boasts some amazing views along the way, but the greatest asset for us is the beach on the Sound side. Rudder Cut Cay is a marvel for divers. David Copperfield added some beauty and majesty with The Musician. He dropped this wonderful structure onto the sea floor for his guests to enjoy. It's worth the deep breath you'll need to get down there

South Gaulin Cay, right beside Bitter Guana Cay is home to some very friendly iguanas. Well, maybe they were less friendly, and more demanding our attention. The signs are clearly marked to not feed the iguanas, but they act very much like they expect a morsel from the visitors to their beaches.

Not every excursion requires a snorkel. I've seen Black Point in my dreams. I've never walked this road before, but I recognized it immediately. So surreal.
If only I'd remembered shoes for climbing the limestone rocks
It isn't sunny and calm every day in the Bahamas. Currents, tides and winds can shake you up in a hurry. The only way to be sure of your anchor holding is to dive down and check it. You'll need that confidence when the gale force winds strike and boats around you are dragging their own anchors.

Cameras, Batteries, Fins, Masks, Snorkels, shoes, bags, fuel, tide, current and more. There's a lot that goes into planning a fun excursion. Amp all of that up when you have to include camera gear. There are very few second chances to nail that excursion. It's not hard to forget the little things that make the video come together for you

It's not always the big, challenging jobs that improve life on a cruising cat. A simple thing like an anchor hook strap can bump up safety and speed up the anchor and release process.

Buying a boat in the US has it's challenges if you're not a citizen. One of them is registering the radios and AIS systems. We decided a new radio and AIS transponder were in order, so we installed ICOM equipment using Sea-Tech Systems cool subscription service. We're impressed, and we have excellent new, working equipment

Warderick Wells Cay is home to coral gardens sharks, rays, turtles and friendly cruisers. 'Dark Angel' doesn't behave on a mooring ball. She thinks it's a toy to surf over, but our stay in Exuma Park is worth it. We learn to 'drift dive' and we learn to check the camera batteries before every excursion!

We celebrate the beautiful Berrys with a toast from the bottle of CINN we were gifted by the amazing family that allowed us into their home, and entered our hearts back in Florida. Couldn't think of a better way to celebrate. We can't wait for they day they join us aboard 'Dark Angel'

Motoring into the wind all day, we finally arrive at our first stop in the Bahamas. Bimini is beautiful, friendly and the waters are our first indication of just how amazing this trip is destined to be

The tired Novurania dinghy and wrong-sized 20hp Honda engine are gone. The new Highfield CL390 and Yamaha 20hp outboard are mated up and ready to become 'Imp', joining us on our shake-down cruise to the Bahamas
A dinghy is a cruiser's car. It takes us on our excursions, shopping diving, exploring. Without a reliable dinghy, everything gets far more difficult.
Just Catamarans came to the rescue for a last minute haul-out and replacement of our prop seals. Even though we check the oil in our engines and sail-drives regularly, it still surprised us to suddenly see water in the oil days before leaving for Bahamas.
On top of the last minute repair, they were happy to be interviewed and filmed while carrying out the job.

Of course the Acuva water purifier is a pretty straight forward issue. What could possibly go wrong? The saga continues as this simple install draaaaags on
What do you think we should do to fix the leaky issues?
The struggle for clean water is real. City water has chlorine, which damages pump seals. Dock supply water is what it is depending on the dock. Even though the water maker makes VERY pure water, it sits in the tank after that and the water in the tanks can become green over time.
Do you think we need the post-filter add-on?
What do you use to make sure the water you're drinking is pure?
Our rigging looks pretty good, but of course it should be replaced next year anyway, because stainless steel is less likely to show wear before it breaks.

Our only power winch failed during the sea trial. Not a warm and fuzzy. We rebuilt it and completely replaced the motor. Ready to go
