This is based on true life events. My 4yo had put a loo roll tube in the toilet (thankfully in a clean bowl and he didn't try to flush!!) and blamed the 2yo. Once I got him to admit it was in fact him, I told him he had to get it out. He fiercely protested and as it was a first time offense (and I didn't want to spend all day in there) I got it out as long as he agreed he'd learned his lesson and NEXT time HE'D be the o...

I came up with this idea a few months ago. I'd planned to finish and post it, but when I got to researching "dad poetry" they all seemed to be Father's Day ones, so I put it on the back burner until then. It's been killing me holding onto it for so long because the final panel really cracks me up!
Because of the delay, the old style pencils had to be reworked. The mom's face in the 3rd panel went through q...

An animated GIF showing each stage in making this comic.
My husband came up with this one when we were pealing the boys off the floor at GameStop. "Worldstar" is apparently a thing people shout when they start recording fights in the street. I'd never heard of it before, but he showed me a bunch of YouTube videos and we asked some friends if it was funny. Those that did get the reference found it VERY funny, and I figured I could visually sell the joke to those ...

As it's Father's Day week, here's one written by my husband! Sorry if you don't get the punchline, I didn't either, but apparently it's hilarious if you do! :)

An animated GIF showing each step in the process. I went on quite the adventure with this comic as it was already finished when I decided to change my style!
In the original script, I had the "baby" egg being introduced first. It was clunky and I wasn't happy with it. Hubby suggested switching it around so the baby reveal came at the end -less words and more reaction shots!
I had him with the egg on a table at first, like they do in those toy review...

I've had this idea knocking around in my head for years -well basically since acquiring a toddler! The inner struggle of being a mom is overwhelming at times. You don't want to helicopter parent, but then your mind conjures up all the ways something could go wrong!
It never seemed quite interesting enough, visually, to do...

The never ending war in my mom brain!
4yo saw me drawing this and I briefly explained the concept of shoulder angel/devils.
Me "So you need to start listening to your angel more!"
4yo "Nah. I'm going to listen to the devil because devils are cool."

Well here it is! The first of many in my new style! This will go live tomorrow on May 30th, which is exactly a year since I released the original!
I'll try not to make too much of a habit of rehashing old strips, plenty more new ones on the way, this was just a useful exercise to feel out the style.

I sketched out this idea a long time ago, but I didn't think it was very good, so I shelved it. When I came back to it, I realized the joke was strong, I was just telling it badly! Instead of having the moms sitting next to each other at a counter, I moved them to the floor so we could see the tiny prancing baby!
I combined these 3 images to make the baby:

Progress on the style change! I'm trying to push the proportions and make the characters more fun. Also experimenting with inking style and colors.
I really want to loosen up my line-work and make everything more dynamic and hand-drawn looking.
If the new models/lines can speed up my process, I might even be able to throw a few shadows in there too!

Exciting things are afoot! I'm reworking my style! (Nope its not April Fools prank this time!) The core of the characters is staying the same, they're just a little more stylized. Why? Well, a couple of reasons:
1) The "bendy" bodies are easier to draw, which I'm hoping will allow for a faster turnaround and MORE comics!
2) I can have a lot more fun with the wacky expressions!

This one was basically just word for word a thing that happens in our house. I am a BIG list maker and loosing out on the satisfaction of crossing something off is devastating!
I took my cues for the yelling face in the last panel from Calvin & Hobbes

This one was based on the 2nd place tweet from my Twitter competition a while back. It was an excellent tweet, but I needed to change more about it to make it work with my family. (eg the tweet was about 3 sisters). I wish I could link the tweet here, but the account and all the tweets connected to it seem to have been removed. I hope the writer still sees her comic adaption pop up somewhere! :)
As always, ...

I've been wanting to use this laser pointer joke for almost a whole year!! I knew it would make a perfect Mother's Day comic, so I had to keep it under wraps.
I had some issues trying to draw her comfortably holding the book AND laser pointer, until I realized I could use her tail! I had a bunch of people on Reddit give me grief about a cat having a prehensile tail -they're going to really freak out when they notice that they're also wearing clothes and talking! :) 2019-05-13 20:53:18 +0000 UTC View Post

I've had this comic idea for a while, but the hard part was coming up with a situation where you might need to call 911, but that's not so serious that you'd be a terrible person for taking a photo first! :)
The claw machine was the perfect solution! Plus it gave me the excuse to give a nod to a bunch of other artists!

This one was a little bit different! I knew I wanted to jump on the Game of Thrones bandwagon, but needed a way to fit it into the "Litterverse". I'll often get weird dreams after watching shows before bed, so I came up with the classic "it was all a dream" excuse.
Then I had to decide who to make who, avoiding any "creepy" relationship pitfalls, which is no easy task with GoT! ...

Any comics that involve a lot of characters, poses, props and backgrounds are HARD to do, so you can imagine my delight when I realized quite what a task I'd set myself! :P
I experimented a lot at the beginning, testing out different layouts to see how to tell the story the best. I would have loved to keep it as 2 frames to give the 1st panel more room, but I didn't want the mom to be left out of...

My husband came up with this one while he was watching me shovel food into my face. I wish I could blame eating fast on becoming a mom, but I've always had terrible table manners!
I don't actually like spaghetti and meatballs (*hate* tomatoes in all their forms!) but it's a classic messy food, so I used it for the strip. I think I was eating a sub at the time.
I originally had the da...
