I had the idea of a skunk at a horror movie night a while ago, but I kept batting it around to see if I could make it better. I tried adding more elements, could they get out gas masks? Should there be other animals that have fear responses, like that lizard that shoots out blood? Should it be a horror movie at all that's scaring her?! Behind the Scenes on the Litterbox Pilot!

It's Indie Animation Day so I'm going to be teasing out some of the work that's being done behind the scenes for the pilot -but for you, my lovely patrons, you don't have to wait AND you get MORE!

We've been working with the characters to make them look... well, more animated! I'm so happy with the results! Here's Fran, Vincent and Joel (no Cooper yet!)

This one sort of happened. J's been working with a company to turn his pumpkin headed skeleton cat from Greetings From Grisley into a plushie. He asked the kids if they'd want one, to which they eagerly replied "YES!", but then the 6yo corrected himself:

I was going to post the comic I did last week tomorrow, but I suddenly realized it will be the last week tp buy the YouTooz plushies, so I wanted to do something that involved them somehow. I hasn't done a remaster in a while, so I whipped this one up real quick. I'll take some photos of the Vince and Cooper plushies in a mess of toilet paper tomorrow!

I've been adding a bunch of cool chapter books to my 9yo's bookshelf and encouraging him to dive in when he says he has "nothing good to read!" but none of them were getting picked up. In a stroke of pure genius, I decided to move them all to a bookshelf on the landing and lo and behold, it only took a few days before the first one was "discovered"! Score 1 for Mummy!

I knew he couldn't be the only kid to be like this, so I thought Fran laying some elaborate book trap would make a good...

My oldest is so adapt at finding loopholes we've joked about him becoming a lawyer since he was a toddler! Recently I asked him to go hang up his clothes and he came back saying he was done suspiciously quickly. I went to investigate and found his clothes flung on top of the other clothes in his wardrobe -technically hanging, but obviously not what I meant!

I thought about making a comic about that, but figured there might be a better loophole to be had. I started brainstorming way...

I wanted a comic where they became the plushie versions of themselves and the idea that they all get stoned popped into my head! I think this at some kids parties. I wish I could say ALL of them, but sadly, sometimes my kids ARE the worst ones there -but I take comfort that it's not as often as I'd expect! :)

I'd been wondering how to deliver this joke for a while. Drawing the craziness of a kids party seemed impossible, so I played around with it being set when Fran gets home with the kids.
