Sneak Peek Images - Rock Climbing Park - Gallery Images + Lot Traits

As I won't be home the upcoming days, I'm not able to make the video about the Rock Climbing Park this week already. I did succeed in adding custom images to the Rock Climbing Park which you can find in your gallery after adding the tray files next week.
These images also show which packs are needed for this park to look exactly as mine:
Expansion packs: Snowy Escape, Island Living, Get Together.
Game packs: Jungle Adventures, Outdoor Retreat.

Sneak Peek Images - Rock Climbing Park - Overview

An overview at how the park looks now (also at night). You might notice the mailbox on the first screenshot, which is still there as I didn't turned it into a national park yet.

Next week I'm going to add the right lot type and lot traits. I will also try to use the Sims tray importer so I can upload the lot to the gallery eventually with custom images.

Sneak Peek Images - Rock Climbing Park - Upper level

Decided to place the stairs at the back of the cliff, so it won't disturb the overal look of the park at the front side. A fair amount of terrain at this upper level is now walkable by your Sims except from some places where the benches are placed.

What still can be done is command your Sim to for example climb the small rock climbing cliff and climb down on a medium height rock climbing cliff. As there're also stairs now though, you will also get the interaction to climb the rocks agai...

Sneak Peek Images - Rock Climbing Park - Base level

I think I've finished the lot (except from changing it to a national park) and here are some screenshots of the outcome of it seen from the base level.

Besides the rock climbing activity, Sims and pets can scare away the group of pigeons near the small rock climbing cliff, fish and swim in the pond, play the horseshoes game and warm theirselfs by the campfire. At the camphouse, camping gear can be bought, like tents and stuff. It also has some other interactions which can't be really us...

Lot almost finished, but small problem

Hello all,

I've worked a bit more on the Rock Climbing Park and was almost finished when I thought about testing the lot once again as for the climbing parts and the walkable parts on top of the cliff.

That's when I found out that because of the rocks added to the back of the cliffs, a lot of places on the cliff weren't accessable anymore. Climbing the rocks wasn't the problem, but after that not all terrain was clickable anymore as for the 'go here' interaction. This also c...

Sneak Peek Images - Rock Climbing Park - Original > WIP

On the images above you see how the original lot of the Rock Climbing park looks and how it looks after some adjustments. It isn't finished yet as I want to add some more animated animals and need to place some more viewing points with benches to the part of the cliffs where Sims end after climbing those cliffs.

Besides that, it's build as a house instead of a park as I can't test the animated parts when only being able to work in build mode. So I need to change that too.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Enjoying Planet Zoo in my 'vacation'!

Hello all,

I thought as I shared screenshots of Planet Zoo before when it just came out, I'm going to do this again. Only now while I'm re-discovering it's beauty. In the screenshots above 3 different animal exhibits.

Lions
The first one is for my lions. I've made a more natural viewing point for the guests to watch them by using water as a habitat border. I've also made it possible for guests to cross the water by a bridge and watch the lions from up-close fro...

Plans for the upcoming time & thank you note!

Hello all,

First of all, great to see that my Rock Climbing Cliffs are doing so well!
I've got a very nice amounts of views, downloads likes and retweets already.

This also proves me that it isn't that bad if I do a bit longer over making certain mods as nobody complaints in the mean time and the eventual outcome was something I was incredibly proud of and happy with.

As for the upcoming time, I will be having a short vacation at home until the new year as my girlfriend i...

New Mod / Video!

Unlocked & Recolored - Rock Climbing Cliffs
If you played in Mt. Komorebi, the world that came with the Snowy Escape Expansion pack, you probably also saw these rock climbing cliffs which have to be climbed to reach the top of Mt.Komorebi. But wouldn't it be great if you could climb these rocks in other worlds too? Well, now you can!  For more info and tips and tricks, take a look at the video.

Sneak Peek Image - Rock Climbing Cliffs - Thumbnail

Everthing is almost finished to finally release the rock climbing cliffs!
I expect it to happen tomorrow around 4pm CET.

Above the scene I created what should look like a park where Sims can train their rock climbing skill or climb just for fun. Besides the thumbnail, I've also used in in my final video all the way at the end.

Hope you like it!

Sneak Peek Image - Rock Climbing Cliff - At Home

Normally I don't work on The Sims in the weekends, but as I need to release these rock climbing cliffs as fast as possible, I made an exception.

In the screenshot another example I will use in my video: the possibility to place them in your Sims garden for training purposes or just for fun. You don't have to live or travel to Mt. Komorebi anymore to be able to climb rocks.

I've also made a nice outro scene (and thumbnail)  which should look like a park with multiple rock clim...

Sneak Peek Image - Rock Climbing Cliff Cafe

I'm not quite finished yet with all screenshots and videos for the Rock Climbing Cliffs, so definitely no release today. Yesterday I also worked on some example scenes for in the video and the Rock Climbing Cliff Cafe on the screenshot is the first finished one (I didn't do anything to the inside of the building though).

With this example I want to show everybody that the cliffs can also be used to create places which are only reachable for Sims that are able to climb. This way you can ...

Sneak Peek Images - Rock Climbing Cliff - Tall - All Recolors

As I was so busy yesterday with writing a voice over for the video, I forgot about the recolors for the tall version of the Rock Climbing Cliff. So here they are!

As already mentioned before, I've not included mossy versions as it can't be seen that well due to the snow on this tall cliff. As can be seen on the screenshots, they do match with the other rock climbing cliffs in color.

Today I will be working on making the screenshots and videos for the voice over I wrote yesterday. ...

Sneak Peek Image - Rock Climbing Cliff - Mossy Medium Overgrown

I've now also added all recolors to the medium overgrown version, which on the screenshot above can be seen on the right. As this one has all the same recolors as the medium version on the left of the screenshot, I won't be showing all recolors again. :)

Something I've changed for all versions, is that they can now also be found in the Outdoor Activity section of buy mode. They're also still available in the rock section though.

Sneak peeks of all the recolors for the tall version...

Sneak Peek Images - Rock Climbing Cliffs - Medium - All Mossy Recolors

And here they are, all mossy recolors for the medium rock climbing cliffs (As dinner is delayed). Something which I've added to these medium mossy recolors, but also to the small mossy recolors afterwards, is a lighter more transparent moss layer around the sharper moss areas.

When you take a look at the sneak peeks for the small rock climbing cliffs mossy recolors, the edges of the moss are much sharper on the spots around the actual climbing parts.
As I found a way to make them sof...

Sneak Peek Images - Rock Climbing Cliff - Medium - Selvadorada Moss Recolor

It took me some time, but I finally also finished the Selvadorada Mossy look for the medium rock climbing cliff. The result of that can be seen on the first screenshot. The brown border at the top will be the same color as the rock eventually, but most of the time it won't be visible when terrain is placed behind the cliff.

The second screenshot shows both the small as medium rock climbing cliff next to each other. In this case I decorated the cliffs and it's surroundings a bit with som...

Sneak Peek Images - Rock Climbing Cliff - Medium Recolors

I've worked on the recolors for the medium cliff now too and the above is the result. The mossy version is still in the works as I have to add all the moss myself. So that one will be shared later.

I've also took a quick look at the rocks in some of the other worlds and discovered that the red looking rocks (screenshot 4 & 5) don't match at all with rocks in other worlds. I thought they matched with Stranger Ville for example, but it looks to be another kind of red.
That's someth...

Sneak Peek Images - Rock Climbing Cliffs - All mossy recolors

I've finished all mossy versions of all the recolors!
As the surrounding rocks don't have these mossy recolors, I've added less moss to them as I did for the Selvadorada mossy version (Which is the last one in this screenshot series).

Hope you all like them!

Now I will be starting to make the recolors for the two Medium cliffs.
As you might remember from a few other sneak peeks, one of the medium cliffs has a tree and plants placed upon it. I won't do any recolors for these ...

Sneak Peek Images - Rock Climbing Cliff - Selvadorada Moss Recolor

I worked all morning on a new version for the Selvadorada rock recolor with moss and this is the result! I'm very happy with it myself, also considering it matches the rocks around it quite well too.

My next goal will be to create moss versions for the other recolors too. As the other rocks recolors don't have moss though, I will only keep the lighter parts of moss you see on the screenshot above too. So they will not be totally covered. Also as I will use the same pds file as the one I...

Sneak Peek Images - Mossy Rock - Creation process LOST :(

After a lot of trial and error, I thought to be close to the finished product... but then everything went wrong.. :(

The first image shows the Selvadorada rock recolor without moss on both the rock climbing cliff as well as the surrounding rocks. On the second image I've already changed the surrounding rocks into the mossy look and started experimenting with a mossy look for the cliff.

As the other rocks show some sort of smaller moss all around the rocks too, I've added a bit mor...

Sneak Peek Images - Rock Climbing Cliffs - Another 4,5 recolors

Yes, you read that right! 4,5 recolors...
The first 2, as already mentioned in the former post, will probably match with the rocks in Stranger Ville and Sulani. The next one matches with Mt.Komorebi. I don't know with what other world this color matched before for the other rocks... maybe Brindleton Bay...?

The last one is a recolor that matches with the rocks in Selvadorada. As can be seen by the rocks around it though, I also need to make a version with this same recolor but with ...

Sneak Peek Images - Rock Climbing Cliff - First 4 Recolors

These are the first 4 recolors for the Small Rock Climbing Cliff (Though when finished I can use them for the medium and medium-overgrown cliffs too probably).
The other rocks visible on these screenshots are the group of rocks from the base game and the Jungle Adventure cliffs which I both unlocked and recolored in the past too.

All recolors are made so they match with rocks in different worlds. The first one is the default color of the rock climbing cliff, so can be best used in M...

Sneak Peek Images - Rock Climbing Cliffs - All Snowy

I forgot that all of them have snowy textures of course when used in the snowy neighbourhood of Mt. Komorebi. Although I don't need to do anything for this, I thought it might be interesting to see it anyway.

I've also made a start with making new additional recolors. I'm trying to make them match with the other recolors I've added to the default Base Game rocks and the group of rocks ...

Sneak Peek Images - Rock Climbing Cliffs - All

Just so everyone knows about which objects I've talked about in my former post.
All of these can be found in Mt. Komorebi.

The tall version has no snow-less version and it's impossible for me to make one either. So the tall one will probably be best placed in the always snowy neighbourhood of Mt. Komorebi or during the winter season in a world that has the snowy weather conditions enabled.

Important to say is that you do need to have raised terrain behind the rocks, otherwise t...

Next project!

Hello everyone,

I've decided what my next project will be. It will be all about the rock climbing cliffs which can normally be found in Mt. Komorebi, the world that came with the Snowy Escape expansion pack.

I think having the possibility to place and use them on our own lots too will be a very interesting one. You can not only train your climbing skills this way, but also make interesting looking parks or maybe an interesting looking garden if you've got a very large garden. 😁...

'Overworked' + worked through all debug/world objects

'Overworked' (sorry for all this text)
First of all, something people who support me already for a longer time have read a few times more, but it's that time again that I'm pushing myself too much to deliver mods each week or every other week. I sometimes need to stop myself from doing that and remind myself that The Sims 4 is just a hobby and not my work.

Despite the fact that I'm not uploading a mod and video each week anymore, I still sometimes have the feeling I ...

Update on Snowy Escape ideas + Friday idea

Hello everybody,

Snowy Escape Ideas
Not much to share this week as I'm still going through all Snowy Escape objects. I've discovered the world and went through all build/buy objects.

Right now I'm looking into the debug objects, which is now more easy as I can view them in-game using TwistedMexi's BetterBuild mod. This way I can also immediately test if objects need edited footprints or if adding slots would be a nice addition.
I haven't seen much objects y...
