Sneak Peek Image - Farm House WIP

I'm don't make houses that often, so this farm might not look that good as other farm houses on the gallery for example. It's my WIP of a farm scene to show how well these new fences can be used in these kind of areas. In this case the white wooden fence.

As you can see, the scene itself is far from finished, but I already placed a few objects which I want to use in the final scene. I also need to find the hay bales or unlock them so I can use them more easily.

Sneak Peek Images - Wooden Fence - Recolors + Weathered

On the images above you will see all 13 recolors with a weathered version next to it.
I also made a blue and dark blue, green and dark green & red and dark red version. Those weathered versions might not be that well visible for all of them.

Looking at these fences, you can now also see how big one piece is, which is half of the fence. This won't be the only piece though. In total you can eventually choose between six different pieces. One of them looks like the fences above, but...

Sneak Peek Image - Weathered Wooden Fence

Didn't have much time to work on the new fences yet, but already tested some weathered looks. For the white/grey fence recolors it will look more as if some sort of moss is growing on it, and for the others it looks as if the paint is chipped.

In the end I will probably end with like 26 recolors as I want to make weathered versions for all of them. But I will share them whenever they're ready so you can decide with me if some can be deleted perhaps.

Video Finished! (+Sneak Peek Image - Thumbnail)

I just finished the video for the Flowers + Bumblebees mod!
So this means it will be released tomorrow.

The image above is how the thumbnail will look. I thought having both the example of a poppy field as well as multiple bumblebees visible on it, would be the best way of attracting people to watch the video.

I do have to admit that I photoshopped a lot of bumblebees in later, as each time I made a screenshot, only one was visible good enough. 😅

Sneak Peek Image - Wooden Fence - White + Deco Slots

Hello everyone,

Hope you're all doing well?
I've already started a bit with my next mod, which will be the unlocked wooden fences. Besides unlocking them, I will also add deco slots, so you can add birds to those fences like can be seen on the screenshot.

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if everyone is doing well? Here in The Netherlands schools, cafés, restaurants etc are all closed until the 6th of april. I live in a part of the Netherlands where the most number of people have the Corona virus, so I try to stay inside as much a possible.
(Still have to buy food of course)

This doesn't mean I will be playing The Sims all day though as I also have a girlfriend that might be more at home then normally.

Sneak Peek Image - Poppy field + Bee box + Crow

Just finished my second poppy field example scene, this time with Walk-Through flowers so my Sim could reach the bee box in the middle of the field.

Right now the fences around the field are also walk-throughable as they're placed with the bb.showliveeditobjects cheat activated. I have plans to make a separate mod for those fences too so you won't have to search for them in the debug collection after activating the cheat. Some extras will come for these fences too, but that's for later....

Sneak Peek Image - Poppy Field WIP

Not enough time to finish the video this week probably, but the wooden fence I'm making with my neighbour will be finished! So I hope the garden is closed again at the end of the week.

The spare time I do have I can spend on making some example/test scenes for the video and the image above is a Work in Progress for that. The grass field is supposed to be filled with poppies and daisies eventually. And this time the Walk-through versions, so my Sim can walk through the entire field.

It's a rainy day here in Holland, so no working on the wooden fence between us and the neighbours today. Which gives me some more time for the bumblebees mod!

I've tried to make a nice looking poppy field with some crows on the fence and bumblebees in the air. Getting both the crows as bumblebees on the screenshot wasn't that easy though as every time the bumblebees were the best visible as possible, the crows flew away.

Sneak Peek Images - Flower + Bumblebees - Recolors

These images show all available flower recolors. On the first image, the original flower recolors are visible, on the second one, my additional recolors.

The purple ones, which aren't visible in great detail on this image, are probably the best flower recolors I ever made! For this recolor I placed an image of violets next to the flower texture in Photoshop and tried to mimic them as good as possible.

Sneak Peek Image - Bumblebee Flower Recolors

I just worked a bit on possible recolors of the base game flowers on which I will attach an On/Of Switch for bumblebees to spawn. The reason for the On/Off Switch is because you can then decide for yourself if you want the flowers (especially the recolors), to be decoration or a Bumblebees spawner.
If I wouldn't make it into an On/Off switch, your gardens would be full of bumblebees all the time.

Next project ideas

As for my overall modding ideas, I think I want to keep working on adding more animal effects to our games as I'm one of the only modders doing so and people seem to like it just as much I do myself.
So to keep in the backgarden kind of animal mods, my next idea is to add a bumblebee effect to some in-game flowers. There's also a bees effect if I remember right, so that might be a future mod too.

This week and next week might a bit busy for me though as I need to remove some ivy plan...

Sneak Peek Images - Lily Pad Matching Recolors

As mentioned in yesterday's post, here are some examples of the matching recolors I've added. 

The first image shows the match with the group of lily pads which can also be found in the fountain's decoration section.
The second image shows how it can match with the water lilies.
On the third image I've placed on top of the fishing pond which can be placed after activating the showhiddenobjects cheat code.

Sneak Peek Image - Animated Swimming Frogs

My first sneak peek for my new animated frogs mod!
In the image above you see both the green as red frogs swimming around in a pond made with the fountain tool. 

Instead of using all 3 swimming frog effects, I've decided to only use the two of them with the most frogs spawning. When decorating your pond water surfaces with objects as water reeds and lily pads, the more frogs will swim around, the bigger the change of actually seeing them.

This week a fixed mod update

This week nothing new, but only a small update on a specific mod for which I recieved a message that it doesn't longer work anymore.

The mod where it's about is the Cave - Water Dripping Floor Decal mod. This mod contains both a visible as invisible floor decal that can be placed both on terrain as on water.
After you've done this and go into live mode, water drops will fall down around this floor decal. In one case there's only one water drop falling down and in ano...

These three wild duck effect objects are perfect to be used in even the smallest ponds. Both custom made as in-game pond objects.

Sneak Peek Images - Animated Wild Ducks - Pond objects

Two examples of in-game objects on which these new ducks can also be used.
The first one is a fishing pond that can be found in multiple worlds of The Sims 4 and which you can buy after activating the 'showhiddenobjects'cheat code in build mode.
As this isn't an object with 'real' water, you can only place objects on the water surface after activating the 'moveobjects on' cheat.

Finally some more time to work on the next mods. In the above images you'll see that this time, no large ponds are needed for the wild ducks effect to be used in. This is especially useful if you don't have that much space for a large natural pond, but still want the wild ducks to give your lot more 'life'.

This time though, the ducks will be placed on an invisible object placeable on the water and won't move that much. This makes it possible to use them in smaller ponds rather then the large sized ones.

I think this was the best way to show all available animal effects at once. Took me some time to come up with this idea though as a single water reed object isn't visible on the thumbnail now. But my guess is that the animals will lure people to watch the video..  😁

Sneak Peek Images - Water Reed + Pond Animals - Option Menu

Today I've not only recorded the needed video and made the required screenshots for the video, but also recorded the voice over for the video already. As I don't have enough energy to make a sneak peek video now too, I've decided to share how the option menu looks of the water reed object.

The first image shows what will be seen when clicking the object.
After clicking the "Set Pond Animal Effect..." option, you will get a pie menu where you can choose between all 5 available effects...

No, seriously. I took some  precautionary measures yesterday before going to the hospital to hopefully make my first experience with the dental surgeon as best as possible.
