Tomorrow a very cool Sneak Peek!

I've been playing a bit with my new Huge Crystal Rocks today, and found out that because they're more round-ish, you can perfectly stack them on each other to create even bigger Crystal Rock piles.

So after some testing, I even made it possible to create a large Crystal Rock Archway where your Sims can walk underneath too! 😱  😎 

I need to fine tune it some more tomorrow, but will definitely share it after I finished it.

Sneak Peek Image - Huge Crystal Rock - Glow

As the Crystals are sticking out all around, switching the glow + sound on will enable glow both in the direction of the ceiling as in the direction of the ground. 

When placing them on walls, you will still see a part of that glow too if you don't place them too deep inside of your walls.

In this first sneak peek image you can clearly see the reason why I called it the "Huge Crystal Rock". 

The left Crystal Rock, is the one from last week. The right is the Huge Crystal Rock raised out of the ground. When placing the huge crystal rock in build mode, only the upper part will be visible, so it can still be used as a ground version too.

More Crystal Rocks!

Hi everybody!

A new week, so new info on a new mod!
Besides the Crystal Rocks in Forgotten Grotto, there are some other Crystal Rocks which could be found or earned if you travel to space. Only then they're called space rocks, but I like my name Crystal Rocks better, so I will keep it that way. 😋 

One of these rocks is the " Unnaturally Large Space Rock ". This is the only one that can be seen as a natural rock too and is just as the name suggest, a big bigger then the Crystal...

Sneak Peek Image - Animated Crystal Rocks - PurplePink

One last sneak peek image as my plan was to make a sneak peek video, but I simply don't have the time for that right now.

I just finished all screenshots and videos for the final video, but don't have time left for the the rest. So Voice-Over, Thumbnail and all editing has to be done tomorrow  😥

So here's the result of switching some of the Crystal Rocks on and how this will look at Night.
I think this looks very cool, but that just my opinion. Also both recolors go very well next to each other like can be seen in the middle, where I placed a normal and wall version "back-to-back". Probably this will also work with the Purple and Pink recolors, but I haven't tested that yet. Unfortunately I had only time to make these screenshots as I've been busy all day with Non-Sims related stuff....

In the screenshot above you see another part of that same cave where I showed the Pink Crystal Rocks at day- and nighttime.
This time though, I mixed the other recolors with each other, Purple and Turquoise.

I've also used my Animated Water Shimmering and my Amanita Muscaria as these two mods also have a certain kind of glow. Although I didn't switched the glow (+sound) on for the Crystal Rocks in this case, just to show that without it, it will also look quite beautiful.

Sneak Peek Image - Animated Crystal Rocks - PinkNighttime

In this sneak peek you see the difference between the switched-on and switched-off version of the Pink Crystal Rocks at night.

As activating all Crystal Rocks can make it all look a bit too shiny, I left 2 Crystal Rocks switched-off.
Also, compared to the Forgotten Grotto Crystal Rocks, mine will shine a little bit more... Why? Just because I can!  🤪  😜 

Tomorrow I will also share how the Purple and Turquoise colored Crystal Rocks will look at daytime and at night...

As you can see I've got the normal, ceiling and wall version of the pink Crystal Rocks finished!  😇 

The normal version is...well normal, you can place it on the floor without any problems and Sims will walk around it.

The ceiling version is not a real ceiling object as it won't snap to a room's ceiling by itself.
I've raised it simply just as heigh as the lowest ceiling in game. If you use higher walls, you need to use the MOO cheat to raise it to a higher point.

Hi everyone,

While working on this week's mod yesterday, I had some doubt about the object's name.
I named it Space Rock first, but it actually isn't a space rock at all as it can be found inside of a cave in Oasis Springs, which is not in space...

So I've decided to change it into Crystal Rock, as that's what it is I think..

More Cave stuff this week

As you can read in the title, this week I will focus on some more cave stuff. If you saw the video from last friday or visited the Forgotten Grotto already by yourself, you've probably saw these glowing space rocks / crystals in the colors pink, purple and turquoise.

They've probably been already unlocked by someone, but that would be without the glowing and the sound that comes with them too.
So I'm going to try to add an on-off switch to them for enabling that glow and so...

Sneak Peek Image - Animated Cave Water Dripping Thumbnail

Let's share the Thumbnail for this week's mod too!
It took me quite some time to make it, not because it was that difficult, but because I wasn't happy with the color of the lower bar and text.

But I am now! I also like the extra touch of smaller water drops spreaded around that lower bar.

Again I had to use multiple images to get the final result as there weren't enough water drops to be seen in just one single screenshot.
I hope you like the outcome just as much I do!  😁 ...

Sneak Peek Image - Cave Water Dripping - Water Version

I tried to show in this image how the effect of the water version looks, but as it's quite difficult to show in just one single image, I copy-pasted multiple images into one. 

The water drop objects themselves are hidden underneath the single lilypads, so it's more easy to find them back if you want to move or delete them.

Sneak Peek Image - Cave Water Dripping - Floor icons

In this first (boring looking) sneak peek image, you see how this object will look when placed in your game. 

The first single water drop floor decal will give you far less falling water drops then the one with 3 water drops does in the same time.
Both versions will be repeated for an infinite time where the water drops themselves will fall on different spots around the floor decal.

Just watched the first The Sims 4 Maxis Monthly and what they showed at the end is just totally AWESOME!

How cool is that! I also thought to see that we can have different height foundation layers now too, but I'm not sure about that.

Sneak Peek Image - Cavemen

My second sneak peek today shows another way of using these cliff ceilings. In this image I tried to create some sort of Prehistoric scene where cavemen are trying to keep warm in their cave.

To make the cave I used both the Cliff Walls as Cliff Ceiling again, just as with the waterfall. Only this time using another recolor.

Sneak Peek Image - Cliff Ceiling Waterfall

Normally I would show you the rocks itself and the recolors first, but as this week's Cliff Ceiling are the Cliff Walls rotated, I don't think that's really necessary. 

In the image above you see the waterfall I shared with you last week, but this time with some effects added to it, so it looks like a real waterfall.

Starting-up problems

Hi all,

No new posts yesterday as I had some starting-up problems after my vacation.. 😁 

But I'm modding now and will post at least one first sneak peek today of my first tests of using it to build a cave above the waterfall which I showed last week. I think there are some great possibilities of using these new rocks to create some cool looking caves not only above terrain but also above your swimming pool or fountain for example.

Back from vacation!

Hi everybody,

Unfortunately for me my vacation is over after this weekend! But this also means I'm back home to start to work on mods again!

As you may have already read in one of the post I sheduled while I was away, my next mod will probably be some sort of rock ceiling to be able to create caves.

As usual I will start sharing more info and sneak peeks when I actually start to work on the mod, which will be the upcoming week!

Sneak Peek Image - Waterfall Scene

You had to wait for it a couple of days, bu as this is probably also the last image while I'm gone, I had to  divide the posts a bit.

In this image you see something that will look like a cool Jungle Waterfall later. But as I think that the water that will flow from the top pool to the bottom pool needs to come from somewhere, I think it will be better if I can make the water to flow out of some sort of cave.

New ideas for after my vacation..

Hello all, 

By the time you read this, I'm probably enjoying some beautiful places in Spain, but I don't wanted to let you all have nothing to read about upcoming ideas when I'm gone.

So here it is!
When I made my former Jungle Cliff Walls, I thought that those would be the last Cliffs I would make for some time, but that was before I was working on the final video and testing some things out with these cliffs.

Hello all,

Yes you're reading that right, there will be no new videos and mods the upcoming 2 fridays. The reason is that I'm going on a holiday which I think I need after some busy real life things, but also the mods I made recently that were all finished just in time or a bit too late. Resulting in working too long behind my pc sometimes 😅 

At the end of the year/ start of next year, there will probably be another few weeks without videos and mods as me and my girlfriend are go...

Sneak Peek Image - Jungle Cliff Walls Thumbnail

I made a quite simple scene for the thumbnail, but it does show what's possible with these rocks.

You can use them as cliffs in the background, smaller rocks on your terrain or natural borders around your fountains and pools. :)
