2019 In Review

April was a big month as far as shooting goes.  Models are trying to get the big drought behind them and traveling during April. Marie hails from Canada and makes a swing through Las Vegas every year.  She and I have shot several times and have been published in magazines, print and internet.  She is really great to work with and takes little direction to get some great poses.  Another really beautiful woman.

Jessica and I had set up this shoot about a month in advance, and it happened to be the day after Jill had called and set up her shoot.  Jill and Jessica are best friends.  So after spending the day with Jill, I had the opportunity to spend the next day with Jessica.  Jessica is fantastic to work with but has the same boyfriend issues as Jill.  Neither one's boyfriend wants them to model nude.  She tried fashion modeling but couldn't make as much shooting fashion as a...

Next up is fellow cancer survivor Jill.  She and I celebrate our cancer-free anniversaries at the same time.  She had ovarian cancer and I had prostate cancer.  She went through an extensive surgical and chemo protocol and I had surgery.  You can still see the effects of the chemo line above her right breast.  The skin is a little discolored and the scar is visible.  She is a very sweet woman and a good friend.  Her husband has interfered with her modeling a...

Next up is Masha.  She and I shot at the beginning of April for the first time.  I know it won't be the last.  We got some great photos.  Masha is from Texas and came to Las Vegas for a cosplay convention. She's one of the few models that does nude cosplay roles.  I didn't realize that cosplayers don't like nudity even though their costumes often show a lot of skin.  Masha is also a hair model, hence the short hair.  It helps with wigs fitting.  She's f...

Welcome back and welcome to my newest follower.  I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas.  Continuing on with my 2019 in review series.  Next up is Viktoria.  Viktoria and I have a long and storied history together.  In fact we joke that April is our anniversary.  I've shot with her for the last 4 years in April.  If you've been following me, you know about her eating disorder and almost dying and you also know that the cause of that was a rape that she en...

2019 in Review Bonus

Just a little bonus for my followers.  I may not have time to post daily with the holiday coming up and family coming in.  Please be a little patient with me. I promise you won't be sorry.  This shot of Ashlee is just a taste of more things to come in the 2019 in Review series.

Next up is Tiffany.  Tiffany started modeling when she was 10 (I've seen the photos) so she's been modeling for almost 3 decades.  Her and I first shot together 4 years ago and when she comes through Las Vegas she always calls and asks if I want to get together and shoot.  As you can see she is heavily tattooed.  I normally don't mind tattooed women, but she is getting to the extreme.  Underneath all those tattoos is a very beautiful woman.  It's interesting in t...

A couple of weeks after shooting with Floofie, an acquaintance of mine was driving through Nevada on his way to California and asked of I could get a model to meet us and shoot for a couple of hours.  I called Ashlee and asked her if she'd be interested for a last minute shoot, and she agreed.  The three of us met at Redstone and shot for a couple of hours.  It was an overcast morning and a little cool but there were some great photos.  I like a little bit of overcast, but...

So after spending all day in my garage studio the day before, the next day turned out to be a beautiful day in the desert, so Floofie and I headed out to spend the day in the desert.  We shot these while it was still a little cool in the morning.  Like I said, she had just found out she was pregnant.  You'll see more of her and the progress of her pregnancy as the year progresses.

The woman that  started it all.  Most of you know the story about how I saw a photo of Floofie and vowed to shoot with her if I ever had the chance.  She and I have become good friends since then and I had a 2-day shoot scheduled with her at the beginning of March.  It was raining cats and dogs so we set up a small indoor set and shot this.  I don't really have the light setup for indoor shoots, but we did okay.  I selected this photo because IMHO it shows the st...

A Little Bonus

Chey has a masters degree in psychology and was a therapist before starting her full time modeling career.  She has some really horrific stories concerning her prior career.  As you can see here, she has no hang-ups with what she shows during the shoot.  She'll go from a straight art pose to full on exhibitionism during the shoot.  There's a few other models that I work with that don't have any concerns with what they're showing.  There's other models that are very co...

Chey and I spent the day together out in the desert.  Actually only about 6 hours, but got some great photos.  i didn't work with her again for a few months,, and you forget how breathtakingly beautiful she is.  You'll see her again in a set I did in early November and you'll definitely see her again next year.  I hope you enjoy.  This gets us only through February.  There's way more to come.

Bonus Post

Just as a bonus post for you guys and gals, here's a preview of the next 2019 in review photo shoot.  Chey was introduced to me by another model.  You'll see more of her tomorrow and a little later in the Year in Review series.  This was taken at the end of February and it was a little cool, but we got some great stuff.

Jamie and Taylor were traveling through the area, and Jamie called me and asked if I had time to shoot them.  She and I have worked together a few times.  Of course I said yes.  It seems like 2019 is the year of multiple model shoots.  I hadn't worked with Taylor before (she's the upper model), but she is an excellent subject and a beautiful young lady.  I hope to work with her again.  I met them out at Redstone and we shot for a couple of hours, and we got a lot...

So here we go.  These next posts will all be photos from 2019 starting with Ziva and Kitty.  Ziva and I have worked together several times in the past at various workshops.  She's the one on the right.  She's a very sweet woman who's gone through some really rough times and has some really bad health issues.  I like working with her and she is a great model.  I have a shoot scheduled with her in mid January of this year so she'll most likely be in next year's rev...

Adlee

Enjoy this post of Adlee from about 3 years ago, actually 3 years to the day.  I'll be out and about for the next few days, so I won't be able to post, but stay tuned for the year in review to start when I get back.  Adlee was great to work with but got famous.  She does mostly workshops these days.  She and I did a couple of shoots together, and she is a beautiful woman.

Dasha

It's been over 4 years since I shot this photo.  I was invited on the inaugural Utadventure tour with a couple of other photogs.  We spent 5 days with Dasha and Candace covering some 600 miles in central and southern Utah at various locations.  I always joke with her that she tried to kill us old photogs the first day by having us walk up 2 miles with a 3000 foot elevation gain.  This photo was taken at Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake.  I was surprised that we ...

Merrique

A little bonus post from my shoot with this very beautiful woman yesterday.  She and I always manage to get a lot of great photos, but with her as the model, you just can't get a bad photo.  Fun, intelligent, witty, and goofy all rolled into a beautiful package.

Happy Holidays

Just in time for the holiday season, I shot this set with St. Merrique.  She has a Patreon Page as well.  Inspired by the Betty Paige Playboy image.  I think Merrique and I knocked it out of the ballpark with this one.  I hope you enjoy it.  The image was created at Photo Bang Bang with CJW providing the lighting expertise.  Many thanks Curtis.  If you're in Las Vegas and in need of a studio, get in touch with Curtis.  I can't recommend him highly enoug...

Cheyenne by Georgia O'Keefe

Here's the filter I mentioned.  It takes a photo and processes it using a technique similar to what Georgia O'Keefe used in her paintings, long and broad brush strokes.  You can see the filter even applies a canvas texture to the image.  I really like this effect.  There are others in the Topaz software (like a Picasso filter) but this is the one I like.  I hope you enjoy it.

Desert Beauty

Chey and I set up a last minute shoot a month ago and spent a half day in the desert.  I really like it when something comes together at the last minute and works.  Literally every shot was a keeper with this beautiful woman.  We ran into a rattlesnake but didn't let that deter us, although I did have to carry her back to her clothes.  I'm also going to post a different rendition of this photo using a Topaz filter.  It's something I haven't done here but use it for Fa...

The Woman Who Started It All

This is the woman that got me started in art photography.  I saw a photo of her and said to myself, if you ever have a chance to shoot with this model, take it.  I searched for her on Google and she popped up as a traveling model who toured the country shooting with photographers.  I contacted her and the rest is, as they say, history.  I still enjoy working with her and she is one of the best freelance models on the planet IMHO.

Another photo of this very beautiful and talented woman from our shoot last month.  I hope you like it.  I'll be starting my year-in-review series sometime next week or so, which will have at least one photo from each of my shoots this last year.  Stay tuned.  As always thanks for following me.

White River Falls

Like I said yesterday, Kira, Bree and I spent a day in eastern Oregon at various locations.  We were at the falls but then a couple of fishermen came by so we moved a little upstream to an abandoned hydroelectric plant.  I'll bet that whomever abandoned it wish they hadn't.  Kira and Bree spent an hour or so posing on various pieces of equipment until some other folks came by.  We then packed up, had some lunch at the picnic area, and went in search of more locations. &nbs...

White River Falls

Over the years, I've been fortunate to shoot with some talented and intelligent models with whom I've become friends.  Floofie and Bree are two such ladies.  We shot this at White River Falls in Oregon.  We spent the day traveling to various spots and shooting.  It got very windy and cool in the afternoon, but during the morning it was great.  You can't really tell by this photo, but the falls are tall.  Like 40 or 50 feet tall.  Floofie and Bree were right ...
