Ashlynne

It was a cold rainy day in Moab, but we made the best of it.  After shooting in a Las Vegas penthouse, we made our way to Moab, Utah for a series of outdoor shoots.  Our group leader got a citation for shooting without a commercial use permit on BLM land.  You have to have a permit for everything these days :-(  No matter that it's supposed to be public land.

Cathedral Canyon

Merrique and I went out to the Cathedral Canyon just outside of Pahrump and shot for a day.  There's two Cathedral Canyons in Nevada.  This is the not so famous one.  The other Cathedral Canyon is just as outstanding but a little further away.  As always Merrique was an outstanding subject.  We had tried to shoot here about three weeks earlier, but it was just too cold.  This day was perfect.

Another from this past weekend's workshop.  This was published on my social media accounts as well, but I thought I would also share it here.

One more of Ashlynne from this past weekend's workshop.  I'm shooting with her again on Friday and Saturday in Moab, UT.  There will be more of her.  As always, thanks for your support.

OOPs, I think I've lost something

I attended a workshop this past weekend with the lovely Ashlynne.  We were trying to create a homework or diary look.  I think we did pretty well.  This was one we came up with as she removed her lingerie. I apologize for the poor framing but we were set up in the entrance hallway.  The light was immediately above me to the left and I was against the wall as far as I could go.

Pure Rebel

It was a hot, dry, and beautiful day to shoot with Rebel.  She stood on these rocks which were very hot.  We quit when it got to be 106 degrees F.

It Was a Cold and Blustery Day

Gwen came to visit and shoot some photos on her way through to a Weston Workshop.  She and I spent the day together and eventually it did warm up but started off cold and rainy.  Gwen said that I was lucky, it was the first of her many scheduled shoots, and she wasn't worn out enough to say no. :-)  This is one of the rare photos that you'll see from my deck in Wyoming.  We were testing just how cold it really was.

Zoe

From my Exploregon outing back in August.  I've shot with Zoe a few times and she never fails to disappoint.  I like how the sand leads you to the model in this one.

White River Falls

One more from this shoot.  There will be a lot more.  Kira and Bree killed it.  This was taken just before a fisherman and his wife showed up at this spot and while technically nudity is allowed in Oregon state parks, we decided to move on.  I could have shot at this spot all day long.

White River Falls

Kira, Bree, and I took a day and went out to eastern Oregon at White River Falls State Park.  Although you can't see the falls well in this photo, they are directly behind Kira.  The place is beautiful and only made more so by the presence of these two friends.

Sienna

This was shot in Kurt's Grotto in Gold Butte.  Sienna and I got some incredible shots in the muted light inside the grotto.

Zoe

This photo was taken in Gold Butte National Monument back in April.  I particularly like how Zoe is framed by the mesquite bush.

Allie

Okay so I'm cheating a little here, same photo but different crop.

Allie

This was taken during a quick shoot in April while Allie was visiting Las Vegas.  She is one of the most sought after models around, and fortunately I've been able to shoot with her a few times.  We always get some great photos whether in studio or outside.

Dasha

Here's another photo from a shoot that Dasha did not get into if you will.  She selected a few photos but none were up to her very high standard.  This shoot was practice for a following shoot.  We were actually out selecting locations.  This location was selected.

Kate

Kate and I got together in June to shoot in Nevada.  She's from Canada and I'm of course from Wyoming, so it may not have been the wisest of choices, but we made the most of it.  She is an extremely talented model.

Dasha at the Lake

One from this photo bust.  Dasha wasn't satisfied with how these all turned out.  There were some, like this one, that are IMHO okay.

Kristy

Another of her selections from this session.  I really like how the lichen on the rock contrasts with her smooth skin.  It was really hot at the end of this shoot, 108 F.  Both model and photog were exhausted.

Kristy in Color

Here's a color version of Kristy.  I actually like it better.  Her and I discussed a mini session next spring featuring two models and multiple Nevada locations.  Stay tuned.

Kristy

As I've said in the past, I'm the world's worst photo selector, especially right after a shoot.  I usually ask the models to select some of their favorites as we shoot.  This was one of Kristy's selection.  This was only our second shoot together but I think we got a lot of great photos.  It was 109 degrees F when we stopped shooting.  Model, photographer, and photographer's truck were beat :-)).

Changing It Up a Bit

I've been struggling to keep up with my posting here for the last couple of weeks.  I thought I would try to change it up a bit and start posting a photo a day, maybe more if I have some time.  Let me know what you think.  I'll try to post some batches of photos as well, but not on a weekly basis.  Let me know if you hate this idea. :-))

Viktoria

Just a black and white version of this photo.  I like the color better, I think, but this one is good as well.  A little bonus photo for you guys.  Thanks for your support.  I'm back in Nevada for a couple of weeks and have a couple of shoots scheduled in the heat.  We'll see if the models and photog don't melt.  Wish me luck :-))

Viktoria

Viktoria and I have worked together a couple of times.  She is such a lovely person, but suffers from an eating disorder.  Our first shoot, which I don't really post anywhere, was done right before she checked herself into the hospital and was at death's door.  She is such a talented model and was a ballerina.

So I'm going to start trying to post a photo a day here versus the weekly 5 or 6 photos.  Let me know what you think.

Another photo from my shoot with this beautiful woman back in March.  Thanks again for your patience.  There's just something about a beautiful woman in jeans.

Thanks for being patient this month.  There's just a lot of stuff going on.  I promise to revert to my regular posting shortly.

ExplOregon

Last week Ann and I joined several other photographers on the Oregon coast to shoot with three very talented models at several locations previously scouted by Kira and Jordan, our tour guides if you will.  This next set of photos is the result of our efforts.  Of course you can't go wrong with the three talented models that accompanied us on the trip.

We stopped at several locations from a secluded beach to some secluded sand dunes next to a beautiful lake.  This was shot undern...

ExplOregon

The first morning we went to a secluded beach along the Oregon coast that Kira and Jordan had found.  You  had to hold a rope to get to the beach making it difficult for bystanders to get to you.  We had the beach all to ourselves, but I wondered what the homeowners up on the cliff thought if they saw us.  There were a lot of homes up along the cliff line.  We walked right next to one as we descended.

We found a place along the highway underneath a bridge next to a river and spent a few hours shooting away.  Only once did a car honk as they went past ;-).  Zoe's skin color really contrast well with the greenery of the forest don't you think?  I have more from a different location in the forest that I'll post at a later date showing off that contrast.

Zoe is such a professional.  Her poses are always spot on and she can make the toughest pose look easy.  During this session, she was exclaiming that she got to go for a swim.  I like how her hair is highlighted in this photo.

Merrique never ceases to amaze me with her unique posing ability.  I really like how her body reflects the curvature of the rock.
