Solar and I spent 2 great days recently shooting a long list of ideas we had been accumulating.

This was @nibacari's first nude shoot, ever. I think she favors a young Annie Lennox (Eurythmics) in a few of these. 

She endured a lot of mosquito bites and a slight rash from moss from this shoot ((:

Why I Love Shooting on Location - PT 1

Most of my work is produced on location and not in the studio. Some of the work that appears to be done in a studio is often actually on location. This is my preferred method of shooting. 

Shooting on location and with available light both limits and frees me as a photographer. My model and I are free to move (within the confines of the location) and aren't limited to a small area of engineered light as you are required to do in the studio.

First Series From the new Shoot with @nibacari

These were taken at a local landmark called Little River Canyon. It offers a variety of places to shoot, water, rocks, cliffs, ponds, waterfalls.

Sneak Peek From Yesterday's Shoot

Here are three quick images from a great shoot with Nibacari from yesterday. It's been almost a year since we shot together and we made up for the lost time. We got some beautiful work which will be the focus of some upcoming posts this week AND a video download!

When posting these images I discovered one of the quirks of the Instagram algorithm. When I censored Nibacari's nipples using bright red hearts, the post would show up in the relevant tags that I used. This shoot is a great example of a model who is engaged and interested in creating something unique. Solar had recently been cleaning her clutter and discovered some toys from her youth and thought they might make interesting props in a series.

10 of Solar

I thought I would share these now rather than waiting until I finish editing the full shoot to be a little more timely in my posts. 

The space these were taken in is a store that is being renovated by a new owner (a friend). The light is all natural and beautiful. Most of my work these days is created in improvised spaces. I will be writing about working in these spaces and why I love doing so in an upcoming post.
