Surfer to Girther (Animated 26 phase)

Had to say goodbye to the body hair as animating it in a way that didn't look rubbish is currently beyond my abilities. I have some ideas for how I could do more stylised 'animatable' body hair, which I'll be exploring in my personal development stuff over on Discord.

As an extra note, there was no rigging involved in this. It has its good points and bad points, but I think it has become a crutch for me as an artist and I don't take much pleasure in the rigging part of any job these day...

Discord opening for futobeans tomorrow!

Character Jam

Wound down today with a character jam. I like the idea of sketching up alternating 'subjects' and 'outcomes' as an evening activity. Bit like the 'mandoodle's i used to do. Satisfies the same itch that did.

Why hello there! Satisfied an age old craving to do a head and shoulders morph!

Things I've learned from this:

-Portrait morphs are their own kind of cool/

-I need to stop adding faffy shading early on before all the lines have been cleanly designed.

-I want to do more backgrounds.

-I've got a bit disheartened by AI lately, but nothing beats the satisfaction of finishing something hand drawn, I'm not gonna let the times get me down!

Dirty Shirt 1-C - concepts and animated portrait morph rigging

Fun thing about rigs is I can smoothen them out, add more frames, see how it all animates. :D.

So I've done two different versions of this already and as the variations in design are almost entirely in the face, I thought I'd do a more detailed face morph this time, from the shoulders up. Its something I feel inspired to do quite often, but you know me and worrying abotu doing anything different.

First TGTF - rigging

Hello all! I've finished the rigging for my next sequence. This is always the longest part. The rest is just fun :D.

I do this for almost every morph sequence I work on, though it has evolved over the years. The more I learn about anatomy, the more fun but complicated this process becomes.

I said in the chat recently I want to do some more free hand stuff without the rigging process, to try and loosen up a bit I guess? Anyway, for those interested: The rigging!
