Growing Explorations v1.2 Release!

After a long wait it is finally here!

Version 1.2 is now out for all patreon supporters!

Here is a brief changelog:

  • Day-Night cycle - the time of day now changes during gameplay. For now it is just this, but there will be more time related stuff coming in the next updates.

  • World map - you can now look at the whole world's map by pressing M

  • Enemy AI has been overhauled, which should make fighting better and more intuitive

  • Boss fights - fighting bosses is now more 'epic', with a custom scene where you can enjoy the fight

  • Arcathis expansion - the academia city has been expanded and the gates of the Academia are now in sight (something must be cooking in there...)

  • Orc portraits by Azazellz and max orc stage raised from 3 to 5

  • A few more quests as well as a bossfight

  • Luna training - you can now train with the wolf queen after returning to her spot later on (maybe she has grown a bit :) )

  • UI changes - the pause menu has been changed to include more options

  • QoL changes

  • Bug fixes

This version has taken quite a long while, for which I am very sorry for. It was party due to waiting for portraits to get finished and also partly my own lazyness and life happening. I really hope you all enjoy this new update, as I think the game is starting to shape up.

Update coming soon

This update for GE has taken much longer than anticipated, but I am happy to say, that if no issues arise, it will be released by monday (march the third). There are just a few more things to implement, which should not take too long, thus finally finishing off this release.

I am really sorry for the wait, as this version was estimated to be done by the beginning of february. One thing led to another - my end of semester exams being held at the start of last month, me not having inspiration and drive to develop the game all through december - thus it has been delayed for too long.

Luckily, all is well and with me having free time this weekend, I hope the release will be done soon!

Some more character for the gacha game

So here are some more characters for the initial release of the gacha game I have been teasing for a bit.

Keep in mind, these are still WIP, so there will be some more fixes. I still think they look quite good.

I have been thinking, as each character will have a backstory and other statistics included in the game, would you like to see previews and info about each of the currently done characters, or would you like to see that when the game is released? (Tell me what you think in the comments)

Also, I want to saddly say, that Growing Explorations' update won't be possible until the end of the month, as there is still art that I am waiting on. Most features are done though. Hoping to have all done by mid Feburary!

Some characters for the gacha game

As I mentioned beforehand, I have begun working on a side project, which is a FMG gacha game. I have been generating some characters, which will be in the starting cast of the game.

Note that the last three are futanari! That said, yes, the game will include futa characters. I will try to keep them to about 1/3 or 1/4 of the cast.

As for why the characters are not muscular - I don't want to spoil the best part! But if you really want to see their muscular versions, I will make a post only available to Growth Connoisseur tier.

In the future, I will be making open character suggestions for GC tier, as well as showing them both normal and muscular versions for characters of the gacha game. Art Explorer tier, will receive only non-muscular art a bit later.

A little thing I have been working on (READ POST FOR MORE INFO!)

Hello, everyone! (Brace yourselves, as I will be bitching for quite a bit here)

As the year approaches an end and holidays are in their highest, I as an university student have been, what university students do - studing, doing coding projects... in assembly...

Anyways, while doing other stuff, I left my Stable Diffusion run on my PC, as I have been wanting to try AI art again as of late. I am pretty impressed by some of the stuff I learned from Azazellz, while working with him on Growing Explorations' artwork, so I wanted to try them out.

Thus as images piled up while I worked on other stuff, I picked a few and here is one such, that took a little of manual tweaking to come to this. I am pretty happy with the results, so I hope you like it too and I would like to hear your feedback.

But, why post this all of a sudden you may ask? Well, you may remeber a while back, I said I have been working on a little side project. With having made a few pretty good AI generated characters and an idea in mind, I want to present to you... a brand new... revolutionary... never seen before... FMG gacha game...

Wait! Don't leave after reading that, I still have some more to mention about it! The current concept goes as this - an 'online' idle game with a gacha aspect. Online?

Well... I am quite broke right now as I have to use my savings to get artwork made for GE... But fret not! It is all in the name of muscular girls, so sacrifices must be made! Jokes aside, I am really thankful for all your support! None of this would be possible without it!

Anyways! What I mean by online is, that your progress will be kept in a database and you will be able to access it anywhere you may need. But why not make a server then?

But what do we all want in a game? Gameplay! My current idea is to have it be similar to RAID Shadow Legends! An awesome rpg... Aghem! (This is not an ad, but sponsors will be appreciated) Jokes aside, the core gameplay will be close to that - assemble a team and fight monsters by using skills or what not.

I want to keep this project to the side for now, so unless it is very well received, I will probably create most of the mechanics on release or first few updates and then just release stages and new characters, which brings me to my next point - why do I want to make this game?

Doing AI art recently gave me quite a bit of inspiration, which I had forgotten. Thus, I want to make some muscular girls with it and share it with all of you!

Now, you may say - but why don't you make the art for GE then? Well... I want GE to be my main project and as such, I want to have the best of the best go there. Azazellz has been really good with his art so far, and I am really impressed with his attention to detail, so I suggest you check out his stuff. Also, I am not really good at keeping images consistent and my graphics card is not as good, so I can't do animations and more quality stuff.

With all this out of the way, I want to note, that this game will not be my main focus, so when or how I would release it, depend on university and GE's stuff. Also, updates for it will probably be stuff like gacha selections for new characters and not much things content wise. Basically a game to fill your gambling needs and enjoy some muscular cuties in the process ;)

One more thing I want to say. The GE update, will probably come by the end of January, as it is close to finish. I am currently mostly waiting for art to get done, but there is still some content to add too.

Preview of the new orc race design

Here is a little preview of how the orc's new design will look. This is an unfinished picture as stuff are still quite a bit work in progress, but I still hope you all like it.

You may wonder, why is the orc getting remade before the elf or dwarf, and this is because currently, the orc race has only 3 stages and I want to change that for sure in the next update.

That said, as art is taking way too long, the next version might not contain the new art for the elf and dwarf races. This is because, I want to have the update done by the end of January at most.

Would you like to see futa content in GE?

So, lately I have been writing more of the game's story which is coming in the future and some issues in the plot have appeared, related to the population and family relations of the game's characters, because all are female. I initially had an idea to explain this, but for some of the plans I have, it won't really work (there will be a ton of plot holes).

Thus, a simple solution would be to add futanari characters to the world. I know most people don't like this genre, so I want to ask you all, the supporters of this game, what you would like to see.

If adding futas is chosen, I will make sure to have an option to turn that off for anyone who doesn't enjoy it.

There is always the option of adding males to the game, but this will complicate some other 'lore', so other options are prefered.

A little preview of day/night cycle

So as I mentioned before, there is a new day/night cycle system coming in the next version of the game. It is pretty much complete, thus I wanted to show how the night looks. As you can see, the lights on the map will start to glow at night, as well as the player having a small area around them lit up for overall seeing purpuses.

There are some more stuff to polish, but it will be done pretty soon. I have also, pretty much completed reworking enemy AI, thus a demo will be released when this all is complete.

Features coming in the next update

As version 1.1 is already out and stable, I want to give some insight as to what will be coming next update:

  • World Map - pretty self explainatory

  • Reworked Enemy AI, again... - as there are currently a ton of bugs with enemies, I will be rewriting pretty much all of their code in hopes to make them finally feel better to fight

  • Boss battles - currently, fighting a boss is quite boring and not so different from a normal enemies, thus, a new system will be implemented

  • NPC AI - As you probably know, NPCs, currently just stay still, so this should make them feel more alive

  • Day-Night cycle - This feature is actually already in the game, but was not released, due to not being polished enough

  • Center of Arcathis -It will come with a few quests, but as there are some big changes already, the culmination of the first big arc of the story, won't be coming this update

So yeah, here is what is currently on the plan, but if you have any suggestions, I will be glad to listen!

Growing Explorations v1.1 Release!

Hello everyone! I know it has yet again taken too long, but I would like to present to you update 1.1 for Growing Explorations!

This has been a very tedious process of development, but I am happy with how it came out. As some of you may know, this update includes the Academia city (Arcathis), which is the firtst settlement in the game ever, so a ton of stuff had to be changed.

You may also know, that there is a new artist working on portraits - AzazellzAI! Currently, all other portraits, except the player's, have alternatives from him (Vlision's renders are still in the game!). You can choose which you want to see, by toggling the artist setting in the game settings.

There have been a ton of new things added, the largest of which are:

  •  Ability rework - Now abilities will require 'charges', instead of just having a cooldown

  • Multi-artist support - As I mentioned, you can choose which artist's portraits you want to see

  • Inventory & Item rework - Items! You can now collect items and use them whenever you want to!

  • World shader - Sparkly stuff ;)

  • Better Cutscenes - A cutscene system has been implemented

  • Quests - Some more quests! Nothing much, because I want the whole Arcathis to be out before I finish the first tome of the story

  • New characters

  • Academy city - Only the outskirts are out in this update. This is as I want to release this version at a stable stage of development

  • Luna New stage - Luna has grown! You can see her growth stage after comleting the Arcathis quests

  • Bug fixes - yeah...

I also want to mention, that there were a lot of bugs in this version as I finalizing it and there are still some stuff left, for example Ysorting doesn't work perfectly (This is just visual). I didn't fix some of these issues, because they would entail, reworking something big, which would delay this release. All bugs I have noticed are mostly visual so there shouldn't be much gameplay issues. Thus I would be very glad to receive your feedback on any bugs or issues you may experience.

Another thing, I am currently working on a full game guide, as there are a lot of people who ask me how to do this or that. I will update you on this when it is done.

Academy city outskirts are done

So, I have been working on the game a bit more and I am happy to say, that things are coming together. The update is almost done. I hope to have a release ready by the end of the month if no unexpected issues arise. If that is the case, I will make a demo for you to try, but not release officially.

Also, here is a little preview of how the Academy city outskirts look. This is the only part of it that will come with this version as I want to release the whole thing in a few parts.

Academy City downtown

So here is a little update on the city. This is the southern outskirts, which will be the part most engaged in the story coming in the next update.

This part is pretty much done, only a few details more are needed. I am hoping to have the western ourskirts done soon too, after which, I will make a demo for you all to explore.

The main city will come along next update, but a small part of it will come with the current one. It will contain some of the 'nicer' houses, as my idea is to have the outskirt buildings be where the lower class lives.

As you can see in the screenshot, there is a goddess statue (finally), which acts as the main one. Also I am thinking of having a teleportation mechanic in place, so the map would be more easily traversable.
