Loonie WIP

I've had this idea of a loon character for a while, always looooooved those birds. I've had this one on hand for a few months, but last weekend I've had a really close and fun encounter with a loon couple swimming with me in a lake, and it reminded me I had to share this.

Still very early, but I kind of preferred a little colorful variant of the usual theme. Could be male, or female, just an athletically built bird ready for a swim.

Gryph Butts

To be quite honest, I was drunk when I drew this and thought I the world's funniest person for pointing out how gryphons never have the same butts.

Bernard Redesign WIP

For those that know, Bernard is my loud, feathery OC, when I'm not my usual heron self. He started as a new sona to leave the undrawable heron proportions behind and find myself a new shape, more representative of what I thought I was, in proportions that were easier for me and other artists to draw. I even dreamed he'd be used in spicy scenarios and everything! But herons fit me too well, hawks, not that much.

Canadia Goose

The conquering queen of the lawn, Goose.
Canadian goose + Canadian Lynx gryphon to be precise.

If I ever have a gryphon character, this is it.
Big, strong, and pretty chill if you don't mess with it.
And round. Round and fluffly. 

Fun story is that lots of people were pretty stoked that I was drawing round characters, on the very fat side of things, but.... I barely put legs an lynx ears on top of a goose photo and voilà! The chunkiest of gryphons. Canada goos...

Sometime, season changes can be rough. For Kessie, being a bird and all, she gets broody, sheds feathers everywhere and is stuck with her winter feather fluff. I figured I'd put that in image, with on earlier sketch I did, for fun. Here's a little WIP of the 4 pose series!

As I said, I'll use this Patreon to try different things, and when my long time supporter and pal Arkson asked me to draw round things, I said sure, I'll try it!

I don't draw round ladies often, I don't draw dogs ever, and I barely ever touched drawing vore, so that's a lot of things different than my usual. Fun to try, though!...

Kassie the kestrel

Nambroth's commission

A commission for Nambroth of her and her Partner's pheonixes! She has always been an artist I've been looking up to, and it was quite a surprise when she commissioned me to draw for her!

It was a nice challenge to draw those two colorful critters enjoying nature and relaxing, but a lot of fun. Thanks again!

Life comes at you fast

Phiew.

I hope you're all doing alright in these messed up times! 

A little update to let you all know that I've been extremely busy with real life challenges in pretty much all the spheres of my personal life, so May was a preeeeetty rough month. Nothing severe, only boring problems... bleh

Been polishing commissions with the few hours I have left, but I definitvely can't charge you all for this month or the next. I still have at least 2 more weeks of crap to...

Fluff

Verd's Boreas! Still one of my favorite gryphon piece, even it's just for the quality of the fluff.

Duckey

Hockey + Duck , c'mon! I saw a skinny short guy with the best hooded merganser hairdo heading to his hockey practice, couldn't not draw him!

Also, I have to apologize for the little slow down in posts: I decided it was a good idea to accept a little side gig for the last month. It wasn't. Money was bad and the workload was overwhelming, but it's all coming to a close so I can focus on better things ( birds ).

I'm happy I can explore different subjects with long time supporters of my art in this way, too! Not going away from my usual bird girls, just broadening my area of expertise and trying things out a bit.

Krazy Kestrel WIP

A little work in progress of a character design commission I'm doing for ArticWinter over on FA of their crazy DND kestrel bard character. Just like the real thing, a small,fluffy killing machine that screams a lot!

Pretty happy how she's coming out so far, and it's a pleasure to draw anthro birds as BIRDY as possible. That means folding wings, feather layering, fluff and lots of fluff and much more.

Royalty Commission

A commission done for the lovely, purple-y Royalty!

I'm still pretty happy with the result of this one. The style is a little simplified, but it just 'feels' good to me.

Guard duty

A bonus for Reveille's commission and their hawk lady Rheah. I still adore these poses, probably some of my best winged anthro bird posing. It's hard to make those wings dynamic , but it's a lot of fun.

It's been a big objective of mine to make relaxed talons look good and with this one I'm trying something.

Also Kessie is definitively a very avian anthro, so much so she even has some leg rings for easier recognition by avid birders. She did pick the letter and number, though.

Kessie

A long time coming, your new friendly physical therapist Kessie!  Part red-kite, part sparrowhawk, she's my silly/raunchy OC and I just like her a lot. Took many different iterations and almost 4 years of reflection to get to her final design. I tried to create the birdest bird girl I could, without slapping wings on her back ( for now ) , but instead using other avian features to reinforce the bird character. At first she was a kestrel, then a red kite, then a black baza.... In the end ...

Something that's been in the works for a long, looong time, sorry Adrienne! But in the end, I think the result is worth it. Turns out pink and purple are neat!

One summer I've built a kestrel box and magically! I've been blessed with a kestrel family beeping in my yard for the whole season.
