Butter Wouldn't Melt - Preview

A few more from this tongue-in-cheek shoot last week. This set, when completed, will only be available here on my Patreon, in my store or on Aurora's Only Fans page. Having trouble at the moment finding time to edit as I'm busy with work but I'm slowly getting to them. I should have a whole set or two ready soon.

I guess this shoot wasn't my usual ki...

Butter Wouldn't Melt

“The original expression was 'Butter Wouldn't Melt in his/her mouth. What this means is when you find someone, a child or animal who is quite obviously responsible for some misdemeanour and they deny it and look at you with an expression of angelic innocence and, in spite of all the evidence continue to lie, that’s when you say that 'Butter Wouldn't Melt'.”

Tongue in cheek or not, bad taste is good taste sometimes. This naughty set, which was a whole lot of fun to shoot, coming so...

An update on sales tax

Post title: An update on sales tax

Hi everyone,

I wanted to give you an update on some changes that we’ll be seeing which may affect some of your pledges. Due to new laws passing in several countries and US states, Patreon will be required to start charging sales tax on some pledges starting July 1st.

Less than half of all patrons will be charged sales tax, and for most, the amount will be very small. For example, sales tax rates in ...

A Book?

I've had some enquiries about doing a book. A couple of people have said they'd buy one if I made one - but hang on, two people buying a book wouldn't even cover the cost of designing the cover of the book.  Books are special for sure, but I'm rather sick of supplying a never ending stream of free high quality work into a society of consuming scrollers and watchers.  Would you buy it? What would it have to have in it for you to buy it?

EVA LAMOR

Full 38 image set will be available in my online store over here: http://mikestacey.com/store - in a few hours time.

This set was shot initially for Eva Lamor Lingerie, who are one of Aurora's lingerie sponsors. So we did a set of commercial images for them  - and some of these are from the  commercial set, then we did a set fo...

Around the House - On Film

These were shot on 35mm and 120 film around the house during May and also during a daytrip out to Weilkopolski National Park. I included a shot of how I scan my film - very high tech - hold film up to the window light and take a photo of it with my digital camera :)

Quiet Isolation Times - Poetic Minx

This is a very special set for me. I realise that work such as this can't be created with any other person. This alone gives the images a uniqueness and also represents an artistic level that can only be reached with a true muse. I hope you see the uniqueness like I do.

Tech: Z6, ISO 1250 - 4000, 16-35mm F4 Nikon zoom, manual exposures. Editing was minimal as I wanted to retain the naturalness and rawness.

Workflow: there wasn't one. These were ca...

Home Art

I love images like this because they're not model-like, they have a homely feel and I could not shoot like this with anyone else - this is their art.  I hope viewers can see that this makes them unique - the fact I could not create them with anyone else I mean.

SHOWER SCENE Part 2 of 2

Set 1 is here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/37229008

Tech: 50mm lens, Z6. Some shots I held a small prism up in front of the lens to get some flare effects. ISO 1250, f5 - I don't usually use such a small aperture but wanted good focus and sharpness on the water droplets and skin. Also deeper DOF as many shots were shot quite close in.

Here’s four steps I us...

SHOWER SCENE Part I

We did a shoot one day and the images were OK but I realised I needed a different exposure and Aurora had different ideas for posing too, so we did this second shoot the following day to perfect it.

VANILLA LIFE (Issue 2)

Vanilla Life was a magazine containing some of my best work at the time. I prepared the images, designed and laid out the mag myself then had it printed by MagCloud. There were two issues published - available both as high quality print magazines and also as digital e-Mags. It was a huge investment of time and money to make these mags. Sales were poor to say the least, but it was a personal passion to create them.

This issue #2 of Vanilla Life was the best of the two mags, both in terms...

Amazing What Can be Done in an Apartment

Big set coming tomorrow - 20 - 25 nude images shot in our apartment.

These were shot back in January in beautifully soft reflected winter light. I remember them being particularly easy to shoot, like most art nude images are. Merely construct a composition and place model in the right spot and let her do her thing. Snap snap.

AURORA: "For me, this is a very real photo representing the times when I used to give in to masturbation as a medicine to my problems."

MIKE: We talked about this image for quite some time. For me as a photographer: I'm always interested in ALL aspects of humanity. For me as Aurora's partner: this creates confusion. I don't want to project her into the public as some kind of porn model - because she isn't. She would not shoot anything like this with any...

Natural and Spontaneous

Update 23/7/2024: Looking back on the wonderful time spent at my former home in the Blue Mountains, Australia. The model with Aurora is Mel Nutter, wife of one of the best Australian photographers (IMO) - Lee Nutter, who now lives in Cambodia.

Both Lee and I photographed Aurora and Mel as they moved through this spontaneous arrangement in the bedroom and out on the balcony.

The dog is my former step so...

Ancient Dialogues Pt1

This is Part 1 of 2. Set comprises around 15 images and is coming soon.

Sylph Sia hadn't shot in the Blue Mountains before and was keen for some adventure so I had a think about where to go. The trouble with living in a place like the Blueys is you forget what's around you, and many great locations become kind of mundane through sheer familiarity. A grass is greener kind of thing.

I had completed a shoot recentl...
