2024-08-28 11:51:47 +0000 UTC View PostFixed two issues introduced in alpha10:
Fixed issue where the calibration pose did not correctly update the hip joint rotation.
Fixed issue where loading a scene saved with alpha9 (84.var) would complain about missing glute under curve morphs. Those morphs, like the g-force morphs, are now forced to the default configurations using the morphs from the current package. Saving/loading customizations to the morph configurations will be added later on.
Hello everyone. This release contains updated glute g-force morphs, and all new g-force morphs for calves and upper arms, plus a few fixes.
The updated glute morphs are the first result of a new DAZ workflow for creating high quality morphs for animation. This workflow is the handiwork of a 3d artist/modeler that I've been exchanging ideas with and received some very valuable advice from for months now. I'll get into more details about that collabora...

Alright. My goals with this release were to improve the thigh g-force morphs, and to implement glute undercurve morphs and anchor them to the thigh joint angle.
It turned out that simply implementing and configuring those morphs was not enough to get the effects I wanted. So I implemented a few technical improvements to the morphing system that allow more fine tuned control over how a morph's value is calculated. In short, each m...

Hi! Back after a summer break of sorts. Didn't really plan it, it just kind of happened due to various circumstances. Anyway, all good, things are now progressing. Let's get to the content of this release - a quick summary:
g-force morphs for the overall chest area
added more morphs for the back
various important fixes

2024-07-23 17:04:32 +0000 UTC View PostHi, this is a small release that fixes some issues and adds marginal improvements to the in-plugin preset and clothing profile preset UI.
Reverted an earlier change from alpha6 in which I tried to load poses during calibration entirely in memory (without saving/loading pose files). It caused atoms linked to the person's joints to shift relative to their positions before calibration. Undoing this change was easier than trying to figure out how to make the in-memory ...

After much ado, a new release is here 🎉
Summary:
I ended up redoing the abdomen g-force morphs, it was easier than to try to fix issues with the previous morphs (more on that below).
added and improved glute g-force morphs
introduced thigh g-force morphs
the way that g-force morphs jiggle can now be controlled with springs and dampers
implemented morphing regions that allow adjusting the multiplier, spring and ...
2024-06-22 18:46:45 +0000 UTC View PostHi, just to notify everyone that the update I planned a week ago to be released within a week is slightly behind schedule. Probably a few more days before it's ready. Thanks for your patience!
I decided to introduce a simple spring-damper setup that can be applied to the g-force morphs per region or per morph. These enable a much better control over how the morphs jiggle, compared to the previous "smooth frames" setting which just averaged the acceleration value over the p...

the smooth frames setting of g-force morphs is now also a region setting, and by default each morph uses the region setting, but morphs can also override that and use thei...

The previously showcased abdomen g-force morphs
New glute g-force morphs! (Check the attached test scene.)
A couple of simple g-force morphs for the back (no visible jiggling, just shifting slightly with gravity)

The video demonstrates how gravity affects the abdomen shape, how moving joints connected to the abdomen produces jiggles, and the dramatic difference when vibrating the belly with a cycle force.
The abdomen/belly region was natural choice for implementing the first set of morphs for many reasons:
it doesn't have soft physics, so it really needs some jiggle morphs
it's a region that connects the chest area to the hip, and the morphs of those regions will sli...
2024-05-25 17:05:07 +0000 UTC View PostHi. I've made some good progress on the technical side and UI. Not much progress on the morphs yet, however I'm pretty confident that the acceleration based morphs won't take long to create.
The joint angle based morphs are more labor intensive to do because of the requirement to start the sculpting of each morph from a different pose (specific joint at a specific angle), and those poses can't be done within DAZ on the base Genesis 2 figure because of how the bones are positioned and ro...

Joint angle morphing system requirements are mostly done, it works similarly to the acceleration system but the lower and upper limits are defined as joint angles rather than as G-forces
Morph values are adjusted along a smooth curve, so that they change more slowly near the lower and upper acceleration or angle limits

Hello! Here's a small new plugin that allows you to adjust the masses of different regions of the body, and includes defaults that distribute the mass realistically for a total of 60 kg.
The default mass in VAM is weird, the person only weighs 27.4 kg and the mass is not distributed correctly. It's also a surprising that the masses of different joints are not adjustable in the UI by default, with the exceptions of breast and glute mass.
