This wartime 16mm reel was produce by the US Navy to educate crewmen in the operation of diesel engine systems on submarines. Lots of really good and clear animations make this a fascinating piece of history, and definitely a trip in the wayback machine to 1942. Enjoy!

YouTube deleted some audio due to copyright rules. The kids are back with their wild experiments with inclined planes and simple machines. Good color but a blurry print, and YouTube had to delete a lot of audio due to various infringements. Oh well, enjoy what remains!

Oh, what an amazing little film this is! This 16mm Kodachrome print is absolutely gushing with the state-of-the-art technology of pressing newspapers back in 1971. From punch tape Linotype machines to PDP-8 powered offset art departments to massive GOSS presses... this beauty has it all! Real nostalgia all the way to a fleet of banana bikes delivering the morning edition. Taste the molten lead and hear the noise! Enjoy!!!!

Some audio had to be deleted to comply with YouTube copyright rules. In this installment of NASA's Aeronautics and Space Report No. 47 we get an inside look at the special training Astronauts got in surviving parachute jumps, and it really looks like a lot of fun! Also we see the world's first space based telescope, the Orbiting Astronomical Observatory also known as Stargazer being readied for launch just ahead of Apollo 8 in 1968.

Professional color correctors will point out the primitive and inaccurate means that I use to 'correct' pink films after transfer, but hey... I use Vegas and I never listed colorist in my resume. So just enjoy the films - they are free!

A film about back when Engines were Manly and Macho! This 16mm gem has a mouthy motor giving us his story, about how he continues to beat out the electrics and turbines, and how he works and gets improved. Great color and classic cutout style animation make this one from General Motors a classic 80's end-of-the-school-day film, even if much of it was made in the 70's. Enjoy!

Aaaaaand they keep coming - and here is a real Bobby Dazzlah from Dayun Undah! This 16mm film may have lost its color, but remains a document of a much more hands-on time for science. When was the last time you built a wave tank with a car battery and a spot light? Yea, been a while for me too... But it sure does look like fun!

From Gears to Golf in scintillating Kodachrome! This promotional film by the Fellows Gear Shaper Company in Springfield Vermont has stunningly photographed footage of the processes and machinery for gear fabrication, and seems to have been intended as part sales pitch for machinery and part Rotary Club promo for Springfield. The age of the film is approximated by the new '64 Cadillac driving through one shot, but otherwise is undated.

You asked for it - You got it! A detailed look at the process I have set up in the lab for transferring my16mm film archive to the YouTube channel. We look at the EIKI model NT-0T 30fps Telecine projector, and compare it to my Bell and Howell model 2585 24fps projector. I also take the curtain aside and reveal the hidden magic of the analog set up on The Big Table that I use to transfer film to video. Enjoy!

A rather blurry 16mm print, and a bit dark, but the color is still vivid. Pretty trippy for '82 with lots of impressive animation in this one - like an intermission film shown at a Laserium show - would be a perfect projected backdrop for a concert! A truly one of a kind reel from my collection, this one I picked up in a second hand shop in Lancaster County back around 1993 and it is a training film made in 1966 just for a single production stage at the massive RCA Vacuum Tube Manufacturing Plant that was the major employer in Lancaster at that time. I determined the year based on the date code on the Kodak film stock, and this reel was transferred from my own 16mm archive print using my Eiki Telecine. The Eiki has a 5 Blade ...
