Bavalae page 12 update: sketch is done!
After layouts comes the sketch! The foreground gets locked in and I finalize comic bubbles to where they help lead the eye down the page

Bavalae page 12: layout
This is the first stage when I create a page! I start with laying out the page. This is basically me just figuring out where everything’s going to be so I can begin sketching. Example: panels, speech bubbles, and rough idea of poses. I’m basically thumbnailing the whole page. I also try to figure out a color scheme for the page too. It looks ugly, but its a very necessary step so I don’t go in blind!

Page 3 background
A background I’m still happy with from page 3. I wanted to still use mainly blues and greens to keep with the consistency of the scene’s tone as well as knowing I was gonna be switching to a red color tone for the snake encounter.

The picture used here is an older mugshot of Red after he was caught after a train heist went south. He and his partner in crime, Havaro, were set out to rob a train but… some unexpected things happened…
