Book 2 First Draft is Done - There's still much to do

Those five days of focusing on writing paid off and I typed these six little letters. There's still much to do and I know there's some stuff I want to go back and add/expand upon, but the first draft is done. Chapters will be posted as they are edited/polished and made sure they don't sound like the ramblings of a madman. No release date yet, but we are getting closer.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Book 2 Cover - Ebook

Naomi graces the cover for book 2. I was worried if the artist would be able to depict her how I imagined Naomi, but she did a good job. The brighter background is a contrast to Faylen’s cover, but IMO it fits Naomi’s personality better than a darker background (if that makes any sense)

Small update

First, sorry there weren’t any chapters of “No Capes” posted last week, just didn’t get around to finishing touching up and editing the chapters for it. Second book 2’s cover is coming along and I’m very happy with it, once it’s done I’ll share a preview with the District Bosses (wish I could share the WIP, but it’s a TOS thing, sorry). Last I’m going to be buckling down and focusing hard on book 2 this week. I’ve got five days where I’m planning to do nothing but foc...

Paperback is finally available!

This took way longer than I thought it would between proof orders getting lost in the mail and then being stuck in review with Amazon. Sorry for the delay everyone.

Cut Content: De'Vas Book 2 part 3

Ash kept his eye on the Elf carrying the sword. Cleo might have wanted him to stand down, but if the bastard tried to attack her, then were was no way he wasn’t getting involved. He also kept an eye on the Dark Elf woman behind him, not for fear of an attack. The poor woman seemed to be in a daze, he couldn’t blame her though, even Bo was out of it for a few days when he rifted. Her head swished side to side, eyes wide as she took in the no-doubt strangeness of this new world. Ash cut his...

Cut Content: De'Vas Book 2 part 2

Alyndra sat in the shadows on the ship, her eyes closed. She didn’t want to see the blue hue that had encompassed them all. She knew what it meant, she had heard the stories. The Vanishing had come for them.

She could hear Kara wailing as she made promises and pleas to every god and goddess in the Elven pantheons. Begging them to spare her. A few of the geezers followed her example, while others wept about the works they never made. Before closing her eyes she had seen Captain Siraye ...

Vas: The Tempest

“And the human prince sweeps his Elven bride off her feet and they sail away for the hidden human Kingdom on his mechanized flying machine,” Alyndra said aloud as her quill traced the words. The ship hit a rough wave and her quill scratched across the parchment.

Alyndra let out a groan of frustration as she tossed the page into her scrap pile.

“Oh, well, I did want the last scene to be a sex scene,” Alyndra sighed. “Not that anyone will ever read i...

Cut Content: De'Vas Book 2

I debated about posting this or not, but decided some might get a kick out of it. Originally I had another subplot for book 2, but cut it as I felt it didn't add enough to the story and bogged things down. The concept was born from one of my beta readers on book 1 saying it would be interesting to see things from the perspective of a paranormal from Vas arriving on Earth. I like the concept and may use it in another book, but it'll be changed from this.

So here are the three chapters of...

No Capes: Chapter 4

Sara led Ryan to the cafeteria. The aroma hit him as soon as he walked through the door and his mouth began to water. The breakfast he had grabbed at a convenience store had been barely edible. He was looking forward to a decent meal.

The cafeteria looked exactly like the ones he had seen on TV shows depicting high school life. His education had been less structured. Math lessons had been the percentages of his cut from a heist. English and Art were forging documents and Ch...

No Capes: Chapter 3

Ryan dragged his ass out of bed. A groan escaped him as he stretched. He was used to the paper-thin sheet of foam that was the bed on his boat, not the ultra-soft one he had slept on in his new apartment last night. He left the bedroom and through the living room, the sight of Cape City from his window caught his attention. The massive skyscrapers showed the wealth of the capital city of the Godson Republic. Once, images of the skyline filled him with thoughts of striking it rich. Now he wasn...

No Capes: Chapter 2

Ryan pretended to be asleep in the hospital bed. He had learned his lesson after he woke up the first time. He was able to glance around the room he was in and determined he was in some sort of hospital room. His hands were not only handcuffed to the bed railings but they were also caged up to the wrist. Whoever put him here knew enough about him to know he needed his hands to activate his powers.

He had seen two supers sitting in the corner of the room, one wearing a blue and black...

No Capes: Chapter 1

Ryan guided his boat towards Cape City. He could see the faint glow of the harbor in the distance. He was ready to be back on land after three days on the Godson Sea. The massive inland sea created long ago by a meteor was always a pain to sail through and risky.

As if on cue, a winged lobster the size of a Saint Bernard shot out of the water onto his boat. The creature searched the deck for anything that might be food.

“You gotta be kidding me, this close to the port?...

No Capes: Intro

So I've mentioned another book I've been working on, well this is it. I've been working on it slowly since Exile, it's been what I would work on when I was stuck on something or just needed a small break. I'm finally getting around to polishing some of the chapters for it and will be posting them here and new ones when I have time. De'Vas Chronicles Book 2 is my main focus and I have no intentions of slowing down progress on it with this book. As a result, chapters for 'No Capes' (Title is a ...

Update on Book 2's Artwork

So I am in talks with the artist I use for my cover art for book 2 and we should start on it next week. Things may change once we start talking, but I'm hoping for Naomi to be the cover girl and the background to be the rusted cargo ship on the beach.

Small update

First: I jinxed myself on the paperback by saying end of last week or early this week. Proof got delayed in shipping. Once I have it and the format looks good then paperback will be submitted to Amazon and they will make it available (sorry everyone).

Second: audiobook is in the works. I will post updates here and Facebook as they become available.

Third: Another set of chapters for book 2 will be posted tonight or tomorrow on Patreon. I’m also hoping to finally post some chapte...

Paperback is coming

Last week I made a post about getting back the proofread for book one and making the fixes to the kindle version and getting the paperback going. All that is in the works. The kindle updates are in review by Amazon. As for the paperback, I was not happy with the format in the proof (margins are way off) I got, so trying a different format that will hopefully be better. With luck, the paperback will be available at the end of this week or early the following week.

(My wife is the one hol...

My dumbass learning Patreon: Patreon is now 18+

So I'm still figuring out Patreon (sorry everyone). Originally I thought the 18+ rating was only related to photos/art/videos and not text, but after talking with others who use Patreon and a review of the guidelines for it, I decided to switch to the 18+ rating. I do plan to post the spicy chapters. In fact, the next batch of chapters I put up will include one, so I want to stay on the good side of Patreon.

The next set of chapters will probably be posted this weekend. I went back and ...

AI book cover attempt from early on while working on the book and started thinking about actually publishing it. I'm so happy that I reached out to Leraynne S. to do the cover art, she did Faylen justice.

Welcome

Not much here right now, but in the coming days that will change. So updates!

Book 1: A proofreader has a copy. Once I get it back then the paperback addition will be made available and the kindle versions will be updated. The book is still doing really well and I thank my readers for the support! (Y’all are awesome)

Book 2: Currently word count is over 30k (about 100+ pages on Kindle). I honestly wish it was a little further along, but last week a little event caused me to be i...
