An ally?
I really want to be careful with Rouletta that although she's quite feather-brained she's not always annoyingly clueless through dialogues and annoys players with cluelessness when the player obviously knows things that are going on.
So I'm working to maintain a good middleground of straight to the point and some more lighthearted comments.

The idea is you get the code peices from the guards. That combine to give you the full puzzle sequence needed to pass it.
Temporal cards
Yet more agency! Temporal cards are your reward for spinning Randomly instead of favouring red or blue. They are one use, they disappear after a battle. But it allows you to hit on those wedges you just can't seem to get!

Whew! this took a lot of work! From the reflections of light on the swords to the twisting of the light to other swords to the input and getting the puzzle to work!
In this puzzle you'll be making shapes of light to fulfil a code that you'll find somewhere to advance!

You can see that the NPC doesn't bring up the option to talk about the silver swords until we get the quest.
When the option does come up, we talk to him, we read the dialogue then can't buy it. When we talk to him after, we jump straight to the choice to buy or not buy or read the dialogue again, giving the player agency to just buy it...
