Patched Update and Progress Plans!

Hey everyone! Here is the final patch for the latest version.

LINK: https://mega.nz/file/VBY2yDbT

KEY: SBjZCzreyRpZouWeZoproUsR43I7RKbbiEtXryhO2EM

Hopefully this gives you a fairly stable version to play until the next update. The biggest bugs should be taken care of now, and there's a bit more content, too.

You can now use the pottypants skill from the ABDL trait (try activating it once Kiera is in diapers and is rather desperate for the potty), there are some more interactions around the daycare (try talking to the video game boys when Kiera is.. once again.. diapered and desperate to go potty), and the pacifier quest finishes and gives you some EXP (though it still needs some writing to be wrapped up properly.. wheeee cliffhangers!). Also, the levelling system should work properly now with adventures and accidents alike.

So, as far as a progress update- most of my dev time has gone into fixing bugs and finishing up those few things! I have done some work on the potty system, and a new hide-and-seek game that you'll be able to play with the Littles in the far left of the park. BUT since most of the progress is playable content/bug fixes this time, I thought I could outline what my plans are over the next few months, so you guys have some idea of what to expect for the next update!

Potty System: I would like to build up the potty system so that you can have more than 3 accidents. This would include allowing multiple messes, and enough wettings to make Kiera's diaper or pull-up leak. I'd love to have a "leaky" condition for Kiera, with its own leaky-pants sprites and unique interactions with NPCs. Furthermore, I would like for Kiera's potty training stat to affect the warnings that you get when she starts to need the potty. Once her potty training is low enough, she'll start to get fewer warnings- or only YOU will get the warnings, while she remains oblivious. With the finished potty system, Kiera will be able to have accidents while having very little or no warning at all, which will be another type of fun compared to desperation accidents, because of how much of a surprise they'll be for her!

I'm also going to be adding some scenes for Kiera using the potty while in diapers, which she can't actually do yet. This will go hand-in-hand with the party system. Pooping in the potty will allow her to graduate back to pull-ups, so once that's in place, you'll actually be able to "potty train" her (or- my favourite option- potty train her a bit, and then let her fail back to diapers!~).

Traits/Skills: I'd like for all of the traits to have at least one skill by next update, while popular traits like ABDL and Distracted could have multiple usable skills.

There will be more interactions that vary based on your traits, too- certain adventures will go differently based on whether Kiera is Brave or Scaredy, Confident or Crybaby, etc.

Party System: Billie, the dolly girl, was by far the most popular character to be added to the party system. So I'll be adding her to the party system, as well as adding further interactions with Cassidy (such as her reacting to accidents, helping with adventures, etc.). If there's time, I'd love to get another character like Miss Laura or Layna introduced to this system! So we'll see how much I can get done there.

Rallies & Calamities: I'll be adding some more of these to the game as further ways to gain/lose EXP and stats. There'll be some fun to be had with randomly-generated Calamities, which could give you a prompt for how to embarrass Kiera next.. :)

Reputations: I have been toying with the idea that as the game goes on, and Kiera acts in certain ways (being nice, being bratty, having accidents, crying), she'll gain a reputation for being a certain way. She'll get reputations like "Crybaby" or "Poopypants", and certain NPCs will react towards her in a way that reflects that (teasing her for always messing herself, for example). Although I am running out of room on the screen for other features, so I'm not sure where I'll put these!

Plot: I have been progressing carefully with the Pacifier quest, because it reveals the central plot of the game. I have a lot of ideas in store once Kiera starts delving into the mysteries of the daycare, and I'm hoping to build these up a bunch over the next few months.

Adventures: I'll be adding more adventures, and finishing/editing the ones in place! I'd really like to have some that feel like a spoof on RPG quests.. Save the girl, find the loot, etc. Ones that Kiera would really roleplay as the adventurer, that could be rather silly once she's in diapers.

Other stuff: I'll be adding more stuff to interact with around the daycare. The hide-and-seek mini game, the swings, maybe a game of Tag, some objects like a baby bouncer, and further NPCs (I swear I'll make those 3 girls in that room do something eventually..) Aaaand of course, lots of sprites to do along the way.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some other stuff, too. If there's something you'd really like to see in the next update, let me know and I'll see if I can add it! I would love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions you have about all this.

Talk to you again soon!

Party Poll!

Hey everybody! I hope you've had some fun with the update so far. I'm aware of a number of bugs with it, and am aiming to release a patched version sometime this month. I'll also be adding/finishing up a couple things that I didn't have a chance to finish yet (pottypants skill, distracted/lookie).

Now that the game's systems have been properly introduced, we've got a lot of polling to do! I first wanted to ask you about the party system. Right now, you get a bit of a glimpse into this with Cassidy, though I need to add cutscenes for stuff like using the potty and having accidents with her. Basically, every party member will have skills and unique dialogue for potty/accident scenes. Eventually you'll be able to recruit any of the Amazons and Tweeners, and maybe some Littles to your party- but one step at a time!

So, which character(s) would you most like to see added to the party system next?

April 1st- Baby Maker Update!

Hi all! It's April 1st!! ..Bit of an awkward day for an update, isn't it? xD

I just want to say a huge thank you to you all for supporting the project. It's been so cool to see your enthusiasm for the game, and I've loved reading all your great ideas of directions to take Kiera's adventures! I really hope you enjoy this update, and am excited to chat with you about what's next in development. There will be lots of polls to come in the next month!

But yeah- I can't believe it's been 4 months since the first release of the game! So much progress has been made, and there's still so much to do! I hope that with this update you'll find a lot more interactions around the map, have more fun with Kiera's 'mishaps,' and get to try out some of the systems- like adventures, levelling, traits, skills, and the party system! Be sure to try interacting with things at different levels of padding and desperation- especially if Kiera has had a biiiig accident! You can even get her to try the potty!

Anyway, here's a link to the update! [Patched x2]

LINK: https://mega.nz/file/ZQ5SBbQA

KEY: qhpzjGzpZvrrHnGGcMbenIUDDZMOJcbcQ70zHyz950Q

PRO TIP: If your game gets frozen, you can try clicking on the SAVE button to break out of the error!

Some known bugs: Finishing the pacifier quest will cause a game freeze. The sprites for Kiera as she's pretending aren't finished; especially if she's in diapers the sprites will look off. Using the LOOKIE skill at the slide may cause an error. Having Cassidy in your party will prevent you from leaving the playpen if you enter it. I'll put out another patch in a week or so :)

THINGS TO NOTE:

-This is still an early build, so you'll probably run into some bugs and unfinished events! Feel free to let me know if you find a bug, especially if it stops the game from working. There are certain traits and skills that won't do a whole lot if you pick them, and some events will have unfinished interactions. For example, getting Cassidy in your party unlocks some skills that she can do if you click on her portrait, but she won't react to Kiera having accidents while in the party yet. Someday, she will! :)

-Here is a list of the skills that actually do something, and the traits they are associated with: THUMBSUCK (global), BLOW RASPBERRY (Bratty), PRETEND (Bratty) [acquire Stupidman and Shortalls for this to work], and HOLD IT (Big Girl). A couple others (LOOKIE (Distracted) and POTTYPANTS (ABDL)) have a bit of text, but don't really do much yet.

-The save function is causing more bugs than it's worth at the moment, so it's disabled for now. Getting it to work is a priority, but it'll actually be a pretty big job and I wanted to focus on creating more content for the update. There are a few QoL updates that will hopefully make up for no save feature (read below)

-You can now use Q to skip text. Hold it down to quickly skip through cutscenes. You can press A or D to pick a choice- A picks the choice on the left, D picks the choice on the right.

-You can SKIP INTRO to skip to the start of the daycare, and MEGA SKIP to skip to the point where you've just gone past the video game boys. If you choose to MEGA SKIP, you'll just have to click on the '...' for the little bit of intro text, then you can use Q normally after that. I would suggest playing through the parts with Miss Laura at least once, as there are some small changes that introduce the levelling system.

-If you are finding that the game is too slow on replays, you can talk to Miss Laura and glomp the milk and cookies. This will set your potty timer to 2 seconds. You can do this as often as you like. By doing this a few times, you can quickly get Kiera into pull-ups/diapers.

Sooo yeah! I would absolutely love to hear any feedback, suggestions, criticisms, etc. that anyone has! Looking forward to hearing from you and adventuring onwards with you to the next update! :)

Poll: What to focus on for the next 2 weeks!

Hey people! So with 2 weeks left until the update, I wanted to put out a poll on what you'd like me to focus on! I have some ideas of what I want to have in place, but maybe you guys can help me prioritize :) Here are the main things I'd like to work on:

1. Diaper desperation/accident scenes: I've pretty much finished the pull-up scenes, but need to work on animations for Kiera being in diapers!

2. Desperate/Messy interactions with NPCs: They will notice when you have to go potty, or if you're messy, and have a unique interaction! Some interactions, like with the video game boys, are a priority here.

3. Work on Skills system: Skills are abilities you can activate to have Kiera perform some action on-screen (suck her thumb, be a brat, purposefully have an "accident.."). While the skills system is set up now, there aren't a lot of skills that you can actually use yet! Aiming to add more by the update.

4. More Adventures: Adventures are how you progress in the game, and unlock points for traits and skills. On top of that, they help you get to know Kiera and the other characters in the game!

5. More Trait interactions: Traits can influence the outcome of some interactions! How do you think a Bratty girl would approach playing with other Littles, as opposed to a Friendly girl? How about a scaredy-cat who wants to go down the slide, as opposed to a Brave girl? Stuff like that.

So, those things are likely going to be my priorities for the next couple weeks (along with fixing a bunch of bugs!)- but I'd like to know what you're all most interested in so I can prioritize properly. If there's something else you'd really like to see, feel free to let me know in the comments!

Thoughts about the save system (Poll)

Hey everyone! I wanted to touch base with you about the Save system for Baby Maker, and get your opinions.

I'm thinking it may be best to disable it for the April update, as it tends to introduce more bugs than it's worth right now. I know that it's a highly requested feature, and it's still a major priority for the game! But it would probably take at least a couple weeks to get it working properly, and I'd rather work on more game content and other bugs for the update.

I thought that in the save system's stead, I could add some sort of alternative to help you progress quickly to pull-ups/diapers on your replays. Maybe an event where Kiera can get a snack or drink some milk that would move her straight to her next potty warning? That way you could at least quickly get her to the type of undies you'd like her to be in!

Then maybe once the update is out, I could work solely on the save system for a while, and put out a patch when it's ready. What do you guys think? Feel free to comment if you have more thoughts about this! Thanks!

Mid-March Progress Update!

Hey everybody!

Apologies for the lack of posts this month, I've been in hyperdrive trying to put things together for the update! Over the next couple weeks, I'll be taking feedback from early access to help ensure the full release April 1 is as bug-free as possible!

The past 2 weeks have involved lots of bug-squashing already!! I'm optimistic that the April 1 version will have a super minimal amount of bugs, so it'll be good to go for playing.

I've been doing a lot of sprite work, putting together a bunch of the jeans/pull-up desperation and accident animations. I've made some progress with the diaper animations- hoping to get those done in the next couple weeks! So you'll see a lot of potty scenes in the update (if you dare try to use the potty..!).

I've also been updating some adventures, and added a Calamity so that you can get a taste of that system. Hoping to have several ways to level down in the update- there's 2 fully finished adventures for that right now.

Basically, I've been filling in the blanks with as many things as possible. You'll be able to check out most of the systems of the game soon, so I think we'll have a great opportunity for feedback there, now that you'll actually be able to see how stuff works.

In the next couple weeks, I'm hoping to pull together the diaper sprites, add some more variation to scenes based on traits, and finish up a few more adventures. I'm really looking forward the full release in April- can't wait to share it with you all!

I'll end there for now, but will edit this post later with some attachments for you to check out. Talk to you again soon!

Early Access Demo is here!

Hello friends! It is time for the early release beta!

SOME NOTES:

1. This is an early beta/bug-testing release. You will definitely encounter some bugs and unfinished things!

2. The save function still needs work! It will track most basic things, but isn't on top of stuff like your trait and skill picks yet. So if you want to try out a bunch of different trait/skill trees, you may want to save up a bunch of points, save your game, and THEN spend the points.

3. I need to fix a few things in the intro, it's a bit buggy right now. If you want to just use the MEGA SKIP button you won't miss anything new. When using MEGA SKIP, you have to click the "..." to get through the first bit of intro text. After that, you can simply PRESS Q to scroll through text, or HOLD Q down to fast skip.

4. Please do not feel obliged to do bug-testing! Like really, no pressure at all- this is meant to be a fun early demo for you, nothing more.

5. If you WOULD like to report bugs, feel free to let me know what you ran into! The more info about stuff like what your character is wearing, whether she's wet/messy, etc. would help squash the bug.

6. If there is any part of the game that you find is partially done and would really like to see finished in the full update, please let me know!! Part of my goal with this early access reward is so that you guys have a chance to say "OMG baboon y u no add this yet!11!1", and I'll do my best to finish it up in the next 2.5 weeks!

7. Pull-up desperation and potty scenes are pretty close to done (some work to do on the wetting animation). Diaper animations and potty events still need work, hoping to get a lot done on those in the next couple weeks.

8. The full release will still be an early version of this game, but has been a huge step in setting up gameplay. With this release, you can check out the game systems, like adventures, traits, skills, levelling up, items, and the party system. Some new characters have been introduced, and a bunch of new interactions are available (especially with the potty). I was hoping to get more pure 'content' out, but there is a lot of hidden content if you try out all the buttons, talk to NPCs at different states, etc.

I think we'll have a lot more to talk about in the next few months of development!

9. I HOPE YOU LIKE IT!

OK! So here is the link:

https://mega.nz/file/IYxxibwI

KEY: ReEyucD9iocwTYJ440On7Zw0fIeUDMhY0Kxlkr-imTQ

WANT SPOILERS??

-Find adventures at: The slide, the Tweener girl by the bookshelves, the Little in the top right of the playpen (unfinished). Right now, the best way to lose levels is to do the slide adventure over and over. After you lose levels, you can put some points into traits and skills to see how those menus work. Some of the skills will do stuff!

-Find a new item in the toybox (it will be used in conjunction with the skill PRETEND, which will have different results based on if you're friendly or bratty)

-You can add Cassidy to your party during diaper changes. Click on her portrait to try out some of her skills.

-If you wait around long enough (or just go afk), your character will start to get sleepy. There's a short scene of her having a nap time, just a rough intro to the sleep system.

Looking forward to your feedback!

Post-February Progress Update!

Hey all! It's March already!! Whaaaa!! That means early access for the next update will be rolling out sometime in the next 1-2 weeks (no date set, but no later than the 14th), while the next full release is just a month away!

I'd just like to say thank you to all of you for your support! Holy cow!! It's been awesome to see your enthusiasm for the game, especially in its super early demo phase. Your response has been a big big motivator to keep going hard at this. This week, we even got our first fan art, made by Tommi! Check her cute-as-heck piece out in the attachments- though Kiera might be upset at you for looking! :P

SO, as far as what's been up- apart from squashing out a bunch of bugs, the past couple weeks have involved a ton of sprite and cutscene work! Baby Maker is going to be a very 'wide' game, where any interaction could have a bunch of different paths. So I've been fleshing out some of those paths- in particular, a bunch of potty-time interactions (with the potty itself, and with NPCs when you need to go) and post-accident interactions. I've also been finishing up and bug-testing some Adventures, so that some variable routes of progression can be a thing in the update!

Also, I've made a burst of progress with the party system! Check out the attached video for a li'l sample of that. The goal is for Kiera to be able to acquire party members by either:

A) Recruiting help to go potty when she's desperate to go (this will be especially important as her independence gets lower... for reasons), or

B) Being assigned a "Potty Pal" after having her diaper changed, when it's clear she needs help getting to the potty on time. (Whether the "Potty Pal" is actually beneficial to her potty training is another matter!!)

Once she has a party member, they'll stick with her until she's gone potty or had her next change. They won't stop you from doing other stuff, even if Kiera really has to go, but will often comment on what she's up to... and might even help her or interfere with a task if they don't think she can do it all by herself! They'll have their own skills (3 each), which Kiera usually won't be able to fuss her way out of. These unlock as you level individual party members up, and will include fun stuff like diaper checks, up-ups, and making sure Kiera's got her pacifier in! You'll level party members up by having them accompany Kiera on adventures, having them witness accidents, etc.

Since the party system will be fairly involved, I'll likely just work on one party member at a time. You'll be able to "recruit" most of the Amazons, and a couple other NPCs. I'm starting with Cassidy... who I don't think you've actually met yet! She's an in-betweener (sized between Littles and Amazons, they're often treated as children, but not usually as babies) who is thrilled with how Little and adorable Kiera is- and decides she'd like to regress the poor girl back into diapers for good! (Oh dear! That's quite a person to be selected as her potty pal!) You can see Cassidy's skills in the video- they're not ready to actually show yet, but I've been working on the sprite animations for them; I think at least 1 or 2 should be good to go for the update. I'd love to hear any thoughts or ideas you guys have on the party system!

Lots of little things being worked on too, but I think that's all the big news for today. Thank you all again! I'm really looking forward to the next month of pulling everything together.

PS, feel free to join the discord if you haven't! It's been fun getting to know you guys through that and here on Patreon!

Ta-ta, talk to you again soon!~

Skills and suggestions!

Hey all! I wanted to show you where I'm at with the skills system, and open the floor to suggestions. Check out the attached videos for a li'l walkthrough! ^^

The idea is that you unlock Skills based on what Traits you have picked, and you get a point towards Skills every 2 levels (18, 16, 14, etc.). Each trait unlocks 3 unique skills that you can pick from, and there are 3 "global" skills that you'll have access to no matter your trait choices are. So in total, there will be 33 unique skills to pick from! Obviously, it will take some time to get them all implemented, but I'll have a a few ready for you guys to check out in the update.

Once you've unlocked a skill, you can use it at any time, and it will activate some little scene with Kiera. She may refuse to do the skill if she deems it too childish.. or she might do it begrudgingly.. or she might just do it without realizing you even activated the skill! She will make a roll against her one of her stats (maturity/independence/potty training) to see if she'll do it (lower stat = higher chance of doing it). There's still a chance that she'll do something babyish at a high maturity, or refuse at a low maturity- it's just unlikely!

Some examples of skills are: Thumbsuck (global), Blow Raspberry (Bratty), Lookie! (Distracted), Pottypants (ABDL). You can probably guess what most of those skills do :P

Some of them are just short interactions, where she does the thing and moves on (like blowing a raspberry), while others will be active effects that carry on/change her sprite (like sucking her thumb).

Now, since there are going to be a lot of skills, I thought this could be a good opportunity to open the floor to suggestions from you guys! You can see in the video that most of the skills are still question marks.. I'd love to put in some options that you guys would like to see!

Just let me know the name of the skill you'd like to see, and the trait it's for! You can describe what you envision the skill doing, or leave that up to me :)

As a reminder, the traits are FRIENDLY, BRATTY, BRAVE, SCAREDY-CAT, CONFIDENT, CRY-BABY, FOCUSED, DISTRACTED, ABDL, and BIG GIRL (changed from "vanilla"). If you have multiple suggestions, go for it! Looking forward to seeing any ideas you might have, talk to you again soon!

Lil more info on traits!

Hey people! The full trait tree has been finalized, and I wanted to chat a bit more about what sort of customization you'll be able to go for in the game! We have 10 traits:

FRIENDLY vs. BRATTY

BRAVE vs. SCAREDY-CAT

CONFIDENT vs. CRYBABY

FOCUSED vs. DISTRACTED

ABDL vs. VANILLA (these are unlocked a bit later)

What combination would you pick? Check out the attached picture to see my choices.. I think I might be a bad person.. xD

Poll question is: Which traits are you most interested in? I'll prioritize working on what's popular with you guys!

PS- Made some breakthroughs with the skill system last night. More to come on that soon!

Mid-February Progress Update!

Hello friends!

So, it's mid-February now! Progress has been good with Baby Maker, and I'm getting more and more excited to share the update with you all. To be candid, I'm a bit anxious about finishing everything that I want to have done for the update. Of course, anxiety isn't necessarily a bad thing- it's been pushing me to keep working hard at this! And even if I don't finish every little thing, I think that you guys will have fun with what's new :)

For the past couple weeks, my main focuses have been adding/fleshing out adventures, honing the levelling system, creating different interaction branches based on traits and stats, improving potty and accident animations, adding some basic skill functions, and making some further UI improvements.

There are several adventures now fully implemented! These will send you around the daycare to read books, play with toys, and lots of other fun stuff. (Kiera might disagree with how 'fun' these things are at first, but I'm sure she'll come around eventually!) I'm hoping to have 10-15 full adventures ready for the update- some that delve into the plot, with others that are just silly fun.

Check out the attached video to see the adventures system in action! When you start an adventure, you'll get an alert and you can check it out in your adventures menu for a clue on what to do (the clue will update if there are multiple steps). Then you can do the adventure, which will take away some of Kiera's EXP and stats. Once you level down, you'll get another alert, further stat loss, and the ability to spend a point on traits! (PS- one adventure won't usually bump her down a full level, I just set it like that for the video)

The skill system is coming along since being reinstated. I'm not sure if they'll be ready for the update, but I'm hoping to get at least 1 or 2 done to show the idea. Basically, you'll unlock 1 skill point every 2 levels, and the skills you can pick from will be based on your traits (kinda like you're specing into a class with unique abilities in a classic dungeon crawler RPG).

Whereas traits affect your game passively, skills are abilities that you activate, that will either put a lasting status effect on Kiera (like 'sucking her thumb'), or one-shot abilities that may cause something to happen based on her location (like 'throw tantrum'). Right now, I'm thinking that I'll have a few different skills available with each trait. You can unlock one skill for each level you put into that trait, which could incentivize levelling up a single trait if you want all those skills, and would allow for more customized baby builds! Activating skills will also give different dialogue based on Kiera's level/stats. She may argue with you when you try to activate certain skills- at least while she's still mature enough to protest!

I've been building more interaction branches based on traits, stats, underwear type, whether there's been an accident or whether Kiera needs to go potty.. etc. There's a lot of ground to cover here, so it will be a while before every interaction reflects things properly- but it's coming along.

Naturally, been working on the potty system. Since I've been going through things sequentially, the desperation animations for jeans and pull-ups have had a lot done, but I've been lagging behind on the diaper animations. I'm trying to have them look a bit different, to account for how thick they are, so they require a bit more time. Either way, animations should be looking a lot better (and have better synced audio) for the update.

So, that's it for now! For the next 2-4 weeks, I'm planning to continue with what I've been doing- adventures, traits, stats, skills, and potty events. While bug testing and fixing is a constant task, we'll be going into hyper-drive with that in March! I know some of you are interested in helping with that, so it will be fun to get you involved :)

As always, I'd love to hear from you guys if you have any thoughts to share. Are there any aspects of the game you'd really like me to focus on for the update? Let me know! Talk to you again soon!

New Reward Idea! (poll)

Hey people! I received an excellent suggestion for a patreon reward, and wanted to get a poll going to see what you guys think about it.

The idea is to release a 'debug' version of Baby Maker, where you can easily mess around with Kiera's stats, traits, outfit, potty timers, etc. It would probably disturb the cohesiveness of the story experience, but could be a good alternative if you're just looking to have some quick and dirty fun :)

I would of course focus on the upcoming update first, and it would take a bit of work to do this properly, so if I were to make this version, I'd plan to put it out mid-to-late April.

I'd love to hear any thoughts you guys have about this!

Oh, and the question for the poll is: Would you like to see a 'debug' version of the game at some point as a reward?

Reward Tier Update!

Hey people! I'm making some tier reward updates.

For the Potty Trainers tier, you'll be able to send in monthly suggestions (and vote in the resulting polls)! I'd like for you guys to feel more involved with the development of Baby Maker, and thought this could help with that. Basically, the premise is this:

Step 1: Every month, you can send in an idea of something you'd like to see in the game (an event, an interaction, an item, character.. etc.)

Step 2: I put up a monthly poll with all the ideas.

Step 3: The winning idea gets implemented into the game!

The ideas can be pretty flexible, but I'm hoping for smallish things that wouldn't take the whole month to put together... Just something fun that you'd like to see!

General ideas could be: An item you'd like to see in the game (plushies, toys.. whatever!).. A new character idea.. A certain accident situation that you think would be cute (a certain location, or with someone specific in your party)..  An interaction to happen with an NPC you like (get changed by them, make them have an accident..).. etc etc.

So yeah! The floor is now open to any suggestions for the March poll, so if you have an idea, feel free to post it here or send me a PM about it!

PS- The reward tier update for the Bab tier is not immediate- but sometime after the next full release, I'm going to release a 'debug' version of the game, where you can edit Kiera's stats, traits, etc. as you please. If you're interested in that, no need to move to that tier right now- it should be available sometime in April. Take care and talk to you again soon!

Beep boop.. Gathering new poll data!

Hey friends! So the floor is now open for event suggestions for next month's poll (March). If you have an idea of something you'd like to see in the game- an event, interaction, item, skill, etc- feel free to let me know on this post or through a private message, and I'll add it to the list!

We ended up with one suggestion for February, so rather than doing a poll this month, I'll just add the suggestion to the game. The premise was for Kiera to get teased back for having a stinky bum if she had teased the videogame boys for being in pull-ups earlier in the story. So, I'll be adding that interaction this month. It's a great idea- love me some karma!

This leaves us with a 100% success rate of people getting their suggestions into the game so far.. pretty good odds! xD

The next poll will be your last shot at getting a request in before the April 1 update, so if there's something you'd really like to see in the update, give it a go! (I may even add multiple suggestions if I have the time.)

Anyways, I'm off to write about a certain stinky Little bottom! Talk to you soon! :)

End of January Progress Update (we're halfway there!)

Hi everyone! Wait, is it February already?! That means we're halfway to the next full update for Baby Maker. Whaaa!!

I'd like to say a big "THANK YOU!" to you all for your support on the project. You guys are awesome and it has been super motivating to see your interest in the game! I hope that you're enjoying these progress updates, and am happy to chat if you have any questions or thoughts regarding the project :)

As we approach the April 1 update, I've been dialing back on new ideas and am focusing on building out what's already in place. Having done some playthroughs, I'm confident that the main issues with the demo have been addressed, and the next version will be a lot smoother to play (fewer bugs, easier dialogue cycling, ability to save). Most of the background systems of the game are working properly now, too, so I'm getting to focus on the fun part and add more stuff to do around the daycare!

I've always been a fan of games that have a lot of variability in interactions. So, a big part of what I'm doing is creating lots of dialogue trees with the different NPCs and objects in the game. You may have caught glimpses of this in the demo, but now more characters will  react differently to Kiera based on stuff like her clothes, whether she's padded... or whether a certain smell seems to be following her around the daycare!

I've been adding more adventures to do- which are now fully functional by the way! You'll get updates to your adventures menu when a new one pops up, and when you finish it, you'll get your "reward" of losing XP. Through Kiera's adventures, you'll get to learn more about the other characters at daycare, and start to see some of the plot develop. (Yes, there is a plot beyond diapers! I swear!!) You'll also get to level down and spend points on customization through traits and skills, which actually do things now!

Yep! While traits were just an idea in the first demo, they now have an influence on gameplay. Some will affect her overall behaviour (is she friendly or bratty?), while others will apply in specific situations (is she brave enough to go down the slide by herself, or too much of a scaredy-cat?). Some traits will even come into effect for random events (is Kiera focused enough to remember she has to go potty, or is the prospect of playing with her favourite toy too distracting? A certain trait might influence the result!)! You'll also be able to unlock a couple silly skills for Kiera to use around the daycare- though she might not be pleased with you for making her do them!

I've been guilty of putting entirely too much time into the potty system lately- dialogue, as well as and animations for various levels of desperation and accidents. It wouldn't be as fun if Kiera ONLY had accidents, either- so in the update, you'll finally be able to get her to use the potty! This way, you can have her potty training go as well as you'd like it to- be it accidents or successes, jumping between big girl pull-ups and baby diapers as you see fit! There are lots of variables to consider with going potty- her underwear type, her stats, traits, how desperate she is, whether she's accompanied by a grown-up.. So there's always a lot to work on with this!

As usual, lots of sprite work has been on the go. I find it adds more character to the interactions if Kiera's sprite responds to things- so there are additional emotions, actions, and animations on the way!

No videos to show this time, but I've attached a few pictures. I'm hoping that along with improved functionality, the game looks a bit nicer too, with some changes to the menus and layout.

So yeah, I think that sums it up for now! Don't be a stranger if you have any questions or comments, I'd love to hear from you! Take care!

Bab Tier: February Poll Suggestions!

Hello again, friends! As per my post from January 13, I've been planning a new reward idea for Bab Tier supporters!

The premise is this:

Step 1: Every month, you can send me an idea of something you'd like to see in the game (an event, an interaction, an item, character.. etc.)

Step 2: I put up a monthly poll with all the ideas (anonymous).

An interaction to happen with an NPC you like (get changed by them, make them have an accident..).. etc etc.

Do note that this is meant to be a "cute" game, so if you have a suggestion that's not PG13, I MAY ask you to submit another one. There are lots of lewd ideas that are also cute, and I don't judge, so feel free to ask if you have an idea you're not sure about- it may be totally fine, or we may be able to compromise ;3 Just want you to understand that I'm not going for an overtly sexual or violent game, so there'll be a limit there. :)

ANYWAY! There are currently 13 of you awesome Bab Tier supporters, so your ideas will have a good chance at getting picked! Feel free to comment here, or send me a private message with your idea. I'll put up the poll early next month, so be sure to get in touch before Feb 1. And of course no pressure if you don't want to submit an idea! If there aren't any at all, I'll come up with my own poll! Mwahaha!

Mid-January Progress Update

Hey everybody! Here's what I've been working on the past couple weeks. Be sure to check out the attachments if you'd like to see some pictures and demo videos.

-First off, a save system! Woohoo! I'm excited about this one. A save/load system is being worked on, and in fact DOES work already- but it's not tracking everything just yet (pictures inside menus, etc.). It currently saves stuff like your location, your type of underwear, how many accidents you've had, and your active and completed adventures. This will be a huuuuuge step for both replayability and fun, so looking forward to getting it all working! (see video for quick example)

-The levelling system is almost fully implemented! Losing XP from adventures is now coded in, and I've added a visual component that you can follow in your Mood tab (Kiera's face). For now, every level has 1000 XP, so progression is linear. All that's left to do with leveling is to create the actual level-down event, where you and Kiera get alerted that she's leveled down, and you can spend some points (Do you think she'll be excited once she realizes she's levelling down? Or will she be fussy about it?)

-Speaking of levelling.. After some reflection, I have reinstated the Skills idea. As the leveling system has progressed, it's become evident that only having Traits to pick from would leave a bit to be desired. So again, you'll get both Trait and Skill points as you level down (as well as losing some Stats each time).

You will also be able to link skills to traits- for example, linking the skill "Thumbsuck" to the Brave Trait will give Kiera an extra bonus to rolls against her bravery if she's sucking her thumb (Skills are abilities you can activate outside of events, while Traits influence how Kiera acts). Conversely, linking Thumbsuck to the Distractable Trait means she's even LESS likely to notice she has to go potty when she's sucking her thumb! Not all "positive" traits will be buffed by skills- some may be hampered! Same for "negative" traits. So there should be some fun options for customization there.

-Finalized an idea for the last purple button- "Rallies!" These are the antithesis to Calamities, where you can help Kiera achieve certain goals that will actually help improve her stats and confidence. It will be things like "show some girl how to draw a pony", "sing a cool song for that guy.." etc.. Little fun tasks that would help a kiddo feel just a bit more mature. All with the goal of being cute, and with various results based on Kiera's Stats (if she's mature, she'll probably actually sing a cool song... If she's immature, she might sing about being a little teapot). It's a way for you to help Kiera out if you'd like to. (NOTE: There will of course be room for failure here... Especially if Kiera tries to impress somebody with a Rally when she has to go potty!) Both Rallies and Calamities are part of the progression system, to help diversify the ways for you to make your way through the game. (PS, though the button is gone, Stats are still present and displayed under Kiera's Mood menu)

-More work on Calamities (see video for a couple examples.. had some more, um.. "lumpy" ones, but not sure if those are allowed here haha)

I think those are the big points to mention, but there's always lots of sprite work on the go. I've been having some fun with the nap-time sprites, which you can check out below. Also been filling out lots of events and added a couple more NPCs.

So, that's about it! I think I'll settle down on new ideas for now, and focus on the systems that already are in place. Building on the story and side plots, etc. March and April are approaching quickly, and I want to have lots of new content ready for you guys! As always, any comments or questions are welcome! Have a good week!

Bab Tier Poll: How early should early access be?

Hey babs! And welcome new friends, it's good to see you! Just had a great question about the time frame for early access as Bab-tier supporters, and wanted to get your opinions. We are in the early days of this project so I'm still figuring things out, and am happy to hear whatever perspectives you may have!

My idea was that I'll release a beta update of Baby Maker exclusively to you guys between 2 weeks to a month early, when I'm trying to clamp down on bugs. Sort of like a public-test-realm idea, where the game is mostly ready but needs some testing. Don't worry, I won't put any expectations on anyone to actually do testing- though you can alert me of bugs if you want to! BUT.. my issue right now is I'm not sure how early I should release it!

I don't want to release it too early, because that would shorten my time frame for adding new stuff to the game, and I'd like to have time to squash as many bugs as possible myself first, so it's smooth and fun for you to play... But I would also like to release it early enough that you feel rewarded for your support! So I feel like there's sort of a blurred line, and hope that you guys can help me clear it up.

So the question for the poll is: How early would you like early access to actually be?

Feel free to comment about your thoughts, too, this is totally up for discussion!

(PS!! I've been brainstorming ideas of more perks for the Bab tier.. Would you be interested in a monthly poll, where you guys can send in an idea for a shortish event to add to the game (some diapery situation you think would be cute, or something..), and then there's a poll to select a winner? And then I'd add the winning situation to the game! Lemme know if you'd like that!)

My goal for game updates

Hey people! I wanted to touch base with you about my goal for how often I'll do full game updates for Baby Maker. For now, my goal is to put out a big update every 4 months. Since December 1st was the first demo release, April 1st is the next finish line!

Why have a deadline? I like to have a deadline because it keeps me motivated, and this way you'll know when to expect the next update!

Why 4 months? Well, this gives me enough time to build something for you that's worth looking forward to, while not being SO long that it feels like forever between updates. It also allows me to get feedback on what you guys would like to see in the game, and bounce around ideas with you! I would love at some point to be able to update faster, but right now it's not really feasible. Maybe some day I can make this a full time job! :'D

I understand that the Bab tier is currently built around early access to something you'd get every 4 months, and that I haven't been clear on when to expect updates. So anyone who is/was at the Bab tier for even 1 month out of Dec, Jan, Feb, March will get early access as detailed in the tier. I'm still trying to think of other rewards, but it's tricky with game development, and my poor brain cell can't keep up!!

That's all for now! Any thoughts on other rewards for the Bab tier? Opinions about my update time frame?! Want to tell me about your lunch?!? I'd love to hear about it!!

Full Progress Update for December

Hey everybody! Happy new year etc etc! Hope you're all doing well.

It has now been a month since I released the first demo for Baby Maker. Holy smokes! Feels like such a long time ago, and yet such a short time too. A lot of progress has been made on the game since then, and I'd like to say thank you so much for coming along for the adventure! I can't express how motivating it is to have you guys supporting the project.

Here are some of the things I worked on throughout December (some attachments at the bottom if you want to see pictures + a short demo of new functionality):

-Tons of bug fixes.

-Loads of sprite work, including refining some base sprites, more expressions & poses, improving and making more desperation/accident animations, animations for going down the slide & swinging in the baby swing (see attachments), sprites for being in the crib, several new NPC sprites, etc.

-Fleshed out the Adventure and (de-)leveling system. In the next version, you'll be able to "progress" by completing Adventures, which reward you with a loss in XP and Character Stats, and points to spend on Traits. Added and expanded upon several adventures, including for the main plot, as well as sillier side adventures like for the swing & slide

-Worked on the Traits system, adding some branches for stuff like the Bratty and ABDL routes (yeah, I start with the fun stuff!!). The ABDL route should have some fun to it! I have a personal preference towards embarrassed babs, but putting points into ABDL will allow Kiera to be more purposefully cute and interested in her diapers.. even allowing her to have some "accidents" on purpose! She can unlock a new tree of Adventures related to being a baby in front of others NPCs.... Uh ohhh!!

-Expanded upon the "sleepiness" mood. Kiera will now be prone to getting sleepy and needing a nap. If you look around the map, erm... Well, there aren't many options for where she'll spend nap time, are there? I wonder where she'll end up having to sleep?

-Developed more of the potty training and party systems. Kiera can go potty like a big girl now. She can ask most Amazons and the two In-betweeners (see attached files) to join her party for help going potty. Her potty habits also affect progression, with repercussions to her Maturity and Potty Training stats if she starts having accidents.

-Related to the potty system, I've been working on a lot of random events that can occur based on character Stats/Traits. For example, if Kiera's potty training sinks below 60, she'll have a random chance not to notice when she has to go. The odds that she doesn't notice and just keeps going about her business will increase as her potty training stat decreases- you'll still get the 5 "potty warnings," but she won't necessarily catch on as quickly as you do. Her chance to notice will increase with each potty warning of course, as her body gets closer to having an accident. Overall, she'll have to get VERY low potty training to have an accident without knowing it's coming at all, but it should be fairly common that she won't notice until she REALLY has to go- making accidents an increasingly frequent occurrence (especially if she's far away from the potty).

-Some quality of life improvements for gameplay. First and foremost is adding a functionality for pressing Q on your keyboard as an alternative to clicking on the "..." button. I am actually really excited about this change, you can check out the attached video to see how it'll work in game. Not only does it allow you to avoid using your mouse so much, but you can actually hold down Q to quickly skip through events! That should be handy for going through sections you've already played, or if you find the plot exceptionally boring. Skipping will stop when a decision comes up, which will still require you to click on the option you prefer with your mouse- I thought it would be best this way, since you often don't want to skip through an important decision!

-More QOL: Increased the range of some interaction distances, so that you don't have to be so close to the exclamation mark (!) to interact with NPCs/items.

There is a bunch of other little stuff that's been worked on, but as far as I can remember those are the major things! I am feeling very happy with Baby Maker's progress in December, and hope you are too! I've really appreciated all the feedback so far, it will help me make the game better and better. As always, don't be a stranger if you have any questions or comments, I am happy to go into greater detail about things. Talk to you again soon!

Poll: Progress Post Frequency

Hey, you! How often would you like to see progress updates on Baby Maker? Currently I'm doing them every 2 weeks. Obviously more frequent posts would be shorter, and less frequent posts would be longer. Let me know what you think!

Some Reward Tier Changes

Hey people! I hope that everyone is having a good holiday season. I wanted to let you know about a couple little tweaks to the reward tiers that I hope you'll like.

Potty Trainers ($3 tier) will now be able to vote in polls for Baby Maker's game direction. I figure that'll make it more fun for you to follow along, and it's good to get as many opinions as we can!

Full Babs ($7 tier) will get slightly earlier access (probably ~2 weeks) to game updates,  when I'm diving into the bug testing phase before full release! There will be no pressure for you to do bug testing, but if you want to let me know about anything you find, you absolutely can. And if you'd prefer to wait for the fully finished, bug-squashed version, that's totally cool! There will be no expectations put on you. I thought this could add a bit of fun to this tier, while ensuring that no-one outside of this tier feels too left out. Full releases will still be put out for everyone at the same time.

What do you think of these changes? I'd be interested to hear your feedback! I'll keep trying to come up with ways to say thank-you to you guys for your support. I'll probably put together a discord at some point, and was thinking about a monthly sprite art poll. The main focus here will always be game development, though!

I'll have another progress update for you next weekend. Been working on some fun plot stuff, and big quality-of-life changes that'll make playing the game smoother. Thanks for reading, and talk to you again soon!

Mid-December Progress Update

Hey everybody! It's been a busy couple weeks since I released the first demo for Baby Maker. Let me fill you in on some of what I've been working on since then!

Apart from fixing bugs and display issues, my main focus right now is to add more content. Content, content, content!! This means more NPCs to interact with, more branches of text with each NPC, more objects and items, more random events based on character state... Just more to do around the map in general! While a lot of these interactions are fetish fun, I'm also aiming to build a (hopefully!!) interesting story, through which you learn more about what's going on behind the scenes at both the daycare and the (perhaps somewhat sinister) programming of this weird "Baby Maker" game! Having more to do means I'll be able to scale back the potty system a bit, so that it's not constantly going off (don't worry, it'll still be one of the predominant features of the game! Just don't want it to be the ONLY thing to do.)

Speaking of which, I've been expanding the potty system! The dialogue, sounds, and animations for desperation and accidents will be improved upon. For the sake of novelty, I'm making a variety of accident animations, so that Kiera might hold her bottom, tug at her overalls, or simply put her hands on her knees when she can't hold it any longer. The ability to actually USE the potty will be available in the next version, too, which will allow some fun with potty training! Early on, you'll be able to bring her to the potty to go by herself. Later on, she may need help going potty, but there'll be plenty of Amazons who can help with that! Successes mean that she'll get to wear panties or pull-ups, while failures will plop her back into diapers- with her potty training stat reflecting how she's been doing overall!

I've been fleshing out the various systems for the game. Lots of adventures for driving the plot as well as just silly stuff. Putting together the "needs" system has been particularly fun, especially working out Kiera's sleepiness stat. There's an empty crib in the nap room.. but surely she's too big to actually nap in THAT, right..? Naptime accidents (and "protection") will definitely be a thing, with increased odds as her potty training regresses.

There's a lot of other things I've been working on, but I don't want to make this too long.. so there's a summary of what's been going on these past 2 weeks! Best wishes to all and stay crinkly!

(PS, I'll put up some screenshots in the next post. I know those are more interesting than walls of text, haha.)

RPG "progression" systems POLL

It's a poll! Let me know which progression system(s) you find the most intriguing. I'll try to focus development on the one(s) that you guys think sound fun! Discussion is welcome if you want to know more!

View Post

RPG "progression" systems

Hi people! So, I wanted to explain a bit about the different systems that will facilitate the progression/RPG feel of Baby Maker. There is no battle system, so I'm trying to fill that void with other hopefully fun stuff!

First, I am developing a TRAITS system. As you complete adventures, you will unlock points with which you can select traits! Through traits, you can help mold Kiera's personality, allowing her to react differently to NPCs and situations. Each trait has an opposite counterpart- you can only pick one or the other! Examples would be Friendly vs Bratty, Brave vs Scaredy-cat, ABDL vs Vanilla. I hope to add some replayability to the game by making the outcomes of plot points different based on your traits.

The STATS system will similarly affect interactions, but you won't directly put points into them. Stats will change over time based on the choices you make and the things that happen to Kiera. Stats include things like maturity, independence, and potty training, and will tend to decrease as the game goes on- allowing Kiera to feel comfortable enough to do things she'd be too embarrassed to do before (like go down a slide)... or making her fail to do something she used to be able to do with ease (like open a baby gate)!

The PARTY system will come into play when Kiera needs help with an adventure! This may occur for adventures like getting cookies from a shelf, opening an Amazon-grade fridge, or getting those tricky overalls off to go potty! There are a number of Amazons (and a couple others) who she'll be able to ask for help. You get a taste of the party system when Miss Laura and Tabitha join you at the start of the game. This will be another fun way to have extra interactions- having an accident with an Amazon in tow will definitely make an impression (and a one-way trip back to diapers)!

The ADVENTURES system is the main propellant for Kiera's progression. You will be able to get adventures by either talking to NPCs, checking out the adventure bulletin that Ethan puts up for you, or randomly as new adventures catch Kiera's attention. Once you complete an adventure, you'll get a reward! CALAMITIES were not explained at all in the game yet. These are hidden quests that appear for YOU, the player- and are hidden from Kiera's knowledge! They are extra-embarrassing situations that will have a big impact on her stats, and accelerate her decent towards babydom. These would be things like: "Kiera would be EXTRA embarrassed to poop her pants in front of the babies in the playpen..." These will be map/location based events that add some flare to accident scenarios.

Finally, we have the MOOD & NEEDS systems. As she goes about her day, Kiera may find that certain things annoy her, embarrass her, or cheer her up! Her mood can change based on what's been happening lately, and can affect her reactions to things. The NEEDS system concerns stuff like thirst, hunger, sleepiness, and boredom. These will slowly go up as time progresses, and you'll need to deal with them eventually. Thirst and hunger lead to snack time, sleepiness leads to a trip to the nap room, and boredom can cause her to seek out fun things in a room- forgetting whatever less important business she'd been up to before!

Anyway, those are my thoughts about how to make progression fun in the game! As always, feel free to let me know if you have any questions or comments about it. Thanks for reading!

Lil Patch

Hey people! Just putting out a little patch to address some of the text/screen sizing issues. If anyone is still having trouble with the screen looking weird, it would be a huge help if you let me know what your resolution is, and/or send me screenshots! I am learning as I go, but will try to address problems ASAP. New download link below:

Thoughts on Rewards

So, I'm open to ideas about patreon rewards. It's a bit tricky to do this with a game, because I can't really give you constant content. I want the game itself to always be free.. but I would like you to feel like you're getting something out of your subscription, too. So lemme break down my ideas so far..

First, I want to update the game every 4 months. I think that gives me enough time to make sizeable updates, without it feeling like an eternity away. But that's a long time in terms of patreon rewards! So how do you guys feel about:

Bi-weekly progress updates- I fill you in on what progress has been made and ideas I've been bouncing around.

Bi-weekly polls- You can vote on things! Like what characters you'd like to see more of, or what system you'd like to see implemented in the next update.

MAYBE.. Higher tier(s) get early access to the game when it's in bug-testing phase?

Could also mayyyybe do custom sprites or short stories or something. But mainly I want to work on the game.

Let me know any thoughts you have!

An Introduction to Baby Maker!

Hello! So.. This is my first post. Not sure what to expect with this, but I'd like to say thank you for supporting the project! I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it, and what you'd like to see come out of it. Please feel free to reach out to me with any thoughts you have!

Now first thing's first- HOW TO PLAY GAME?

Well! You can download it here:

https://mega.nz/file/MNwVlIJa

KEY:

Zy2Vk2Qt4G7Tmq58Dh8QS7wArII0h-41DISd_0UgEvo

Extract that bad boy, then find the file named 'index.HTML.' Click on it. This opens a web page through which you can play the game!

Note- there is also an 'index.JS' file. That is a different, suboptimally named file. My bad.

ABOUT THE GAME:

Baby Maker is a 2D adventure web browser game. The basic plot is that you (like, you- actually you, the person sitting in a chair in front of a screen!) have been selected as a 'player' to try out a new experimental handheld game, where the main character is actually a real person sucked into a video game! She was lured in by the slick ad campaign, that boasted of getting to be the valiant 'hero' of a video game. How cool would THAT be?! Of course... there are some surprises about the game that she didn't know about. Oh well! She already signed the release forms... her fate is now in your hands!

SO now that she's in this brave new world (which is located in the fabled Diaper Dimension, check out Princess Pottypants if you are new to it), she'll have lots of comments about things- but it's up to you to move her around, decide which adventures she gets up to, and level her down! ..Did I say down? Whoops, that's a bit of a spoiler, isn't it? Either way, there will be a (pro?)gression system that allows you to customize your character as you see fit.

PLEASE NOTE: The stable part of the demo goes up until you get put into pull-ups. You can keep playing further once your character is in pull-ups/diapers, but you'll probably run into some bugs/errors, and the dialogue and animations aren't final copies. Still, you should be able to play around a bit with padding on. If Kiera ends up in diapers, try talking to the girl who's playing with a dolly. Also unfinished, but you'll get a glimpse at a mini game I'm working on.

Gameplay is simple. Click on the "..." to cycle through dialogue, and X to dismiss it. In the starting screen, you can click the "..." in the bottom right to play through the intro, or skip the intro in the bottom left. Move around with WASD or arrow keys.  When you get close to an NPC/object, the ! above their head will turn yellow. You can then press "E" as your "use object" button to interact with them. While most aren't properly implemented yet, you can click on the pictures and buttons to look at character stats and stuff.

There are a number of features, like character progression through stats, traits, and skills, that are not properly implemented yet, but you can check them out a bit by clicking on their buttons. There is a bit of an introduction to the Mood system and Adventure system.

This is meant to be played on a full screen with a PC. I modeled it based on certain screen sizes, and it won't work on mobile. Not sure if it will be weird in some browsers; I use Chrome and recommend trying that if you run into issues with a different browser (also let me know if it's being weird in another browser). If you run into problems with your screen size on a laptop/PC let me know and I'll see about adjusting it. No plans for mobile though!

I think that about sums up my intro thoughts.. Be sure to let me know about any questions/concerns you have, or things you might find interesting in the game!
