A tide of Tenebrils flowed through the dark, arcing up and over the lodge to slam down into a grouping of severe looking Korvaa. They weren't fools either, and all six of them leaped outward and raised heavy bone shields. Though he had a bed and privacy, Felix found it difficult to sleep. It wasn't that Pit snored loud enough to wake the dead, or that he didn't trust Bateo—not entirely, at least—but mostly it was that he'd slept a lot on the sloop while they were drifting. Here at the very tip of the Eyrie, the highest point in the entire Territory, he could see over hill and dale and into the very heart of his domain.
