January 2022 News

I can't believe a new year is here already! This past year has flown by for me. A lot has happened, and at the same time not much. It's a weird feeling! However, one of the best things about this past year is how I've started to build towards healthier working habits. I'm less burnt out and only occasionally start to feel really overwhelmed. Here are the request-stream sketches from this month! I hope you like how they came out. Those of you who've come to the streams might have noticed I start with a regular warm up every stream to loosen up, and I think it's really helped to give the drawings more lyricism/feel less stiff.

December 2021 News

Wow, the end of the year is sneaking up on me! I can't believe it's December and the holiday season is here. Like last month, this one will mostly be filled with streams for you guys while I work out more thumbnails for Cinderfrost and bury myself in manuscript revisions and writing responsibilities. Onto news!

Here are the colour requests from the last stream! I spend about an hour on each, and it's been a lot of fun! Level of refinement tends to differ based on level of character design complexity, but I'm getting a handle on this fun style and enjoying what comes of it!

Stream Postponement

November 2021 News

So, Mariah Carrey has smashed all my jack-o-lanterns and we're officially into the leadup for the festive season! This one is going to be unique for me here on Patreon because I a) am now out of thumbnails for Cinderfrost and need to accrue that backlog again b) will actually be seeing family this time, which means Christmas is going to be busier than usual. Request Stream - Colour Sketches

Here are the results of the colour sketch request stream!

While I can't get as many done, and this method is rough, I am enjoying giving this a try! I'll do more next month and see how it goes/what level of completion is really feasible. Personally, while imperfect, I find this a nice halfwaypoint for getting a harmonized colour palette and enough detail to feel interesting without requiring the insane 8-10 hours of a fully rendered piece.

Part of me wants to repaint the BG of panel 3 to include the chopper exploding in the bg, but it's so cramped trying to fit so much into panels! I am not an expert on these things, that's for sure ^_^*
