My friend's daughter, Liz, dropped by again two weeks ago needing a confidence boost. She still didn't feel comfortable showing too much skin, but also wanted to appear beautiful and sexy in images. It's not that she's uptight or virginal, necessarily, she conservative in any way, she's just shy and insecure about her looks and wanted to once again challenge herself in front of the camera. Her mom, my long time friend, dropped her off, so I knew I was clearly trusted and sanctioned in our endeav...

She felt comfortable changing in front of me and quickly switched to a lingerie set she had brought. She was still felt self-conscious about her stomach region, which of course was flat and perfect for her 20 years of age, but I didn't argue and relented to her wearing the cover-up she had brought.

Previously she said her favorite part of herself was her backside, but today she wasn't fond of any part of her. Uncertain of how to pose, I told her that poses were unnecessary and to just move around. At first she was quite stiff, but eventually she began to relax.

Of course, knowing her as well and as long as I have, it didn't take long to get her to relax a bit, make her laugh, and get her to slightly move out of her over-analytical head.

She is one of the most naturally beautiful women I have ever known, and yet she can't even see it. Isn't that a tragedy? 

I'm not saying that being beautiful is everything in life, but you should at least be able to see that subjectively, you are an attractive person. She really doesn't.

When she arrived the night before, we stayed up late talking, sharing stories of our highest highs and lowest lows in the modeling industry. Since Ashley has more experience on the extreme bondage and fetish side than I do, her stories definitely beat mine, no pun intended.

This set of images was the last thing we shot after a full morning and afternoon of shooting at four different locations. Her make-up had worn off and she was more than a little tired, but she was a trooper and still willin...

As usual, nudity is Ashley's favorite state of being, and she quickly slipped off her sweatpants and sweatshirt, happy to enjoy the warm sun on her skin. She was impressed with the beach cliff, which I hadn't been to in a long while, and we were both impressed with the abundance of flowers that had sprouted around the area, which I had never seen before. Thank goodness for the California Super Bloom happening here after the surprising rainy winter!

She didn't seem to be afraid of the height we were at, squating to pee right there on the dirt path inches from the ledge. Then she walked out further and simply said confidently, "Where do you want me?"

It took only seconds for her to get in the zone, being the pro that she is. Even as people looked down on her from about 50ft. away, she kept her composure and moved around, giving me options to capture.

Considering all the dirty, erotic things we had shot all morning, these were by far the easiest and least sexy shots to take. It was a cleansing of our palate, if you will.

She has a way of staring through the lens to your soul, which I couldn't help but like a lot.

Since I had shot so many times on this cliff, most of these shots were repetitive of what I've shot before, which I felt bad about. I'm not a fan of redoing my previous work, even if it's with a new model. Still, these are nice, lovely shots, however meaningless they feel to me.

Ashley has soft, delicate features that remind me more of the most beautiful frontier woman struggling against the elements more than of a beauty queen. Her beauty is natural, in-born, not labored or contoured with layers of make-up. She has a dark story, a complicated past, and is honest and up-front about it all.

Ashley had a tendency to hide behind her hair, like many women do. However, unlike other models, she preferred to let it be messy, unkempt, wild and blowing in her face. She didn't like things clean and slick, she liked them sloppy, live-in, and real. All of which I appreciate a lot, as well.

Her piercing eyes here really are quite intimidating here, which is also very sexy, in my opinion. I like the confrontation of this image.
