I finally had the pleasure of meeting and working with the wonderful Jordan River , who, in just a couple years, has created a stunning library of content. We spent an afternoon experimenting with colored lights and having a grand time!

I haven't felt very good about the double exposures I've shot recently, I just haven't been "feeling" the process like I did a year ago. So today, as I ran errands after a long and hectic week, I took a few minutes and shot some clouds at sunset, which were unusually thick and billowy for this area due to an abundance of recent rain.
No one had ever seen these images of McKenzie, so it is nice to finally share a few of them.

Back in August, McKenzie came to visit me in my hometown for a productive weekend of photos, drinking, and laughter. On Sunday morning, only an hour before she drove away, she quickly put on this outfit and we shot a few base images for later double exposures. Today, seven months later, I finally went out and shot the sky and clouds over a few of the images. What do you think of these?

After shooting for about half an hour or so, they were both so cold that I called it a wrap. They quickly got dressed and we headed back to the main house where they huddled under blankets and talked for another hour before we all went our separate ways.

The light in the small shed was fairly dark and bad, but a few times I used a small exposed bulb on a wire to illuminate them as they moved around on the bed, huddling together both for the photos and in order to keep warm. I liked this one.

As is always the case, Roarie talked a lot. And I mean, a lot. BUt that's part of her kinetic, enthusiastic charm. Roarie can preach about art, creativity, travel, social sciences, and a variety of other topics that range from fascinating to odious. Still, she's an absolute sweetheart that I always have a soft spot for, having let her stay at my home in California several times now.

I was unsure of how far they would be going with their intimate touching, since I rarely shoot photos and only had briefly mentioned the concept to both of them via text. Since Roarie has participated in countless shoots with other models of both sexes, I let her take the lead, allowing her to call the shots. I think she did well, don't you think?

For his part, Sufi had also never really modeled, but he was a very strong, confident, sexy man, and that helped him feel very comfortable boht in his own skin and with Roarie.

Since Roarie is a lesbian and Sufi is gay, I wondered if they would have any chemistry. But within seconds I could see there would be no problem. They were naturals, and several times their quiet touching and slow, long hugs felt very real. I didn't really get a chance to discuss it with them afterwards, but neither one of them seemed to have a problem with the situation in any way.

I took the photos in the little shed my hosts had arranged for me in their back yard. It was a renovated gardening shed, and though the room had been repainted and the bed was comfortable, the heater that had been installed seemed to be from before World War II. Needless to say, I'd fallen asleep shivering for a week, and so Sufi and Roarie were now suffering the same fate. At least they had each other to help stay warm.
