Sometimes the best place to get your thoughts in order is up in the clouds...

...which is exactly what I've been doing for the past week! I'm finally back in Tampa from flying above the lower half of the grand US of A and busy preparing for my next flight out to NYC this coming weekend. Busy day getting caught up on things so I'll leave it at that. :)

SuperBatober 10 - FORTUNE

Kara does not understand stealth. Like, AT ALL.

If you check out the initial rough for this one, you'll see I originally was going to include a few more cats. But, I just mentioned stealth, and a bunch of cats seems like a horrible idea to quietly sneak into a museum with, even for Catwoman. So left it with just Isis there. Also, Kara including Selina in her outburst seems totally on point.

SuperBatober 09 - BOUNCE

Similar to the Golden prompt, thought about giving a cameo to a certain Legion member for this one but, also like that Golden prompt, I liked this idea better. Although in retrospect, I guess I still could have drawn him in it. Ah well. Haven't had a whole lot of time this week to spend on these, bouncing to various airports, so feeling a lot like Kara up there. Haha.

Thought about drawing Booster for this one, but I liked this idea more.

And because a few might be wondering, that is intended to be Betty Kane: the Golden Age Batgirl (not Babs) up there. Silver Age Supergirl of course because she wasn't around just yet.

SuperBatober 05 - MAP

Guess I gotta draw Kara in a space suit now. Oh, darn! :)

This was a fun one. I didn't want to draw your typical parchment style map so decided that a star chart might be something a little more different (plus I got to design a simple space outfit for Babs). The only trick is, for someone like me who aims not to use any acrylic white paint on my watercolors, I wasn't quite sure how I was going to go about said star chart. Super easy digitally colored, but more of a challenge when paint...

Like I mentioned a few days ago, I'm going to be traveling a lot this month, starting this week. Not all work/comic related stuff which is nice (albeit a touch stressful in the midst of getting SuperBatobers done). The stuff that is comic related though I've listed below for you. Here's Aurora sporting her Canadian heritage with pride! Maybe too much pride.

I admittedly was a little reluctant to make that netted maple leaf window so large, but then I realized this is totally an outfit someone would have drawn up in the 80s. SO NO REGRETS. Actually, looking at it again after a couple of years, I think it's kinda cool.

Included an alternate all-black outfit above because I also thought it looked kinda cool.

Here's a very--although characteristic--seductive Emma Frost to round out the last of the x-villains for these 80's fashion pieces. The request was that half her body be in diamond form which was kind of fun to draw. I opted to make the diamond half a bit more ice looking since, y'know, "frost". (Not sure if anyone remembers but she actually inhabited the body of Bobby Drake at one point too)

Anyhoo, still on the villain train so here's an updated take on the Goblin Queen sitting on a throne of her dark, little minions. Cute outfit, but I sure wouldn't want to turn a corner and come face to face with her.

80s Selene

Happy Friday, everyone! Well, everyone except for that poor soul next to Selene here.

This is kind of an updated take on a previous Selene I shared earlier this month. I think this one turned out a lot better. Really happy with that smile.

I'll be sharing two more x-villains over the weekend and then it'll be back to some nicer hero mutants.

80's Polaris

Here's another Polaris, once again possessed by Malice. I gotta admit, Lorna is a tad more interesting to me when she's fighting an evil side (even if that evil side is a malicious incorporeal mutant that at least gives you a fashionable choker to wear around your neck).

Continuing with some x-villains! Here's a um...pretty voluminous Yuriko Oyama. Looking back I prrrrrobably could have rendered that chest area a little better. Still, pretty fun outfit! Much simpler than Vertigo from yesterday for sure. And happy with how her expression turned out.

I had free rein with costumes so decided to stick with the 80's theme we have going on this month and put Scott and Jean in outfits from around that decade.
